Chapter 32: I won't forget you

Note: Hmm...a lot of people have been wondering what's going to happen now that Mexxy is dead (HELL YEAH)-still a bit sad that he died. He was the best villain :(

Or was he?

Tia's POV

Time dragged on. It felt like hours had passed where Cisco and I just sat there, silently mourning the death of our dad. He was horrible at being one, but he was still our dad.

Sometimes I would kiss him on the forehead, whispering words in his ears that he would never hear again. Words like "I love you" and "Please come back, we can be a proper family." But of course, he never responds and he never will.

"We will hold a Voxel funeral first, a procession around the castle with him in an open coffin. Then we will have a family funeral" Cisco mutters, still holding onto his hand. He had become still now, cold, hard. A dead corpse. His skin was even paler, his silvery white hair drooping down like dead vines. The red coat he wore with golden edges disguised the amount of blood.

"He knew" I whispered, and Cisco nodded. "He knew I was going to shoot him. All this time..." I sigh, letting out a small sob. He knew he was going to die by my hands. That just made me feel even more guilty, that it came down to me to kill my father. How the hell could I live with this guilt?

"He had...an illness" Cisco says, and I look up with a frown. "What do you mean?" I ask. "He's healed so many people, but he sucks in the effects of the Golden Desert Eagle. All of the pain and the effects...it's an energy, a radiation if you will. It has built up inside of him, and he would of died in a few months anyway. It was better this way" Cisco explains, smiling sadly.

I look back down at him, when the door bursts open.

"Ti-" Ridgedog begins, but stops when he sees the dead Mexxy. "Oh" he starts, covering his hand over his mouth as if in shock, but I could see the corners of his cheeks turn up-he was grinning. But I didn't blame him. Mexxy had ruined his entire life, and now he had payed the price. A part of me that was guilty disappeared-he did kind of deserve it, he said so himself.

The rest of my family, the Yogscast and Team Crafted comes pouring into the small office, filling it till I could barely breath. Deamon steps forward, and I flinch.

"I need to say something, whilst you are all listening" he begins.

"Yes, I shot them. Robin, Ryan, Tia...all of them. But it was for a cause. I knew Mexxy was going to die, by Tia's hands, or the illness that resignated inside of him." he stops as Ridgedog looks down at Mexxy in surprise, shocked murmurs in the crowd muttering in the silence before Deamon carries on.

"Mexxy trusted me. I came down to the mortal land, with the job of killing them all" he sighs, looking across at my family, then down at me. Ridge glares at him heavily.

"But...But I fell in love" he whispers, looking at Robin with a smile, who stares at him in confusion.

"I fell in love with not only Robin, but the idea of being a part of this family. I turned down Mexxy's request. He was angry at first, but...soon he began to realize how compact this family was, and how it was going to grow. He decided to test if Tia and Ridge would still love each other when all of their past was out of the way. When they did, Mexxy knew. He realized why I couldn't kill them."

"When he told me he was going to die, I asked if there was anyway to stop it. He said there wasn't. When I asked if there was another way, he told me yes. He wanted to die by his children's hands, and picked Tia to do it. She had gone through the most. He wanted to teach this family a lesson, however, before he went out of this world. He wanted me to kill Tia's family, and let Ridgedog kill me..." Deamon sighs, and Ridgedog stared at him in surprise.

"He wanted me to kill their family so that they would know not to trust anyone. He wanted me to kill Robin to prove that I was willing to sacrifice the ones I loved so that they could have a better life. He wanted me to kill Tia to show her that accepting can be better than fighting it. And he wanted Ridgedog to kill me to win so that he would know what it was like to be the winner of something gruesome like the survival games. He wanted to teach us...that we have to sacrifice a lot to get where we are today."

We were all silent and Deamon turns to Robin.

"I'm sorry for killing you. I'm sorry for hurting you. I'm sorry for scaring you. I'm sorry for betraying you." he says, opening his arms. Robin hurls herself into him, crying quietly as she grips him tightly. "And Ridge, I'm sorry for betraying you and your family. But I needed to. To take Mexxy out of the world...and ensure your family is safe forever" he whispers. Ridge is frozen to the spot, unable to move. He looks down at me, and I smile at him, nodding.

Robin moves out of the way quickly as Ridge hugs him tightly (what a bromance) and whispers, "I'm sorry" in his ear. He grins as they let go. "It's fine, I'm the one who was in the wrong" he sighs, glancing down at me.

"Tia-" he starts, but I wave my hand at him. "Yeah yeah I know, I'm sorry, blah blah bl-" he cuts me off by hugging me. "Hey!" I huff, but hug him back.

When I look down at Mexxy, I almost jump in surprise to see his mouth turned up in a smile. He must have been sort of conscious for the past few minutes, and used the last of his strength to smile. I kiss him on the forehead again, and together, we lift him out of the room.

The funeral was horrible. After the Voxel procession, we carried him to the funeral room. No words were said, only blessings for whatever place he was in now. I cried a bit, but mostly from laughter at Ridgedog sighing and fidgeting in a pink ballerina dress.

Note: SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO FANART OF RIDGE IN A BALLERINA DRESS XD

Standing at the grave, I sigh, looking down at the white marble stone with the words: "R.I.P Mexxy, the ex King of the Voxel Box." Ridge had changed out of his dress and wore his usual black coat, the golden edges glimmering in the night. I was wearing black too, and we both stood there for a while, hugging each other in the cold and just staring at it.

Behind Mexxys's grave was seven stones, each representing Ridgedog's dead children. We put a red rose on each of them. Turned out, as Deamon said, Mexxy had burned them to destroy Ridge's bad feelings of the past, and to help him move on to his new family.

We put a pile of black roses on Mexxy's grave to symbolise death, with a single red rose in the middle.

Walking away, I look back once to smile and nod in respect for the dead king before we leave to the Voxel Box castle for a kingdom meeting.

"Attention!" a demigod at the front says. The massive hall was PACKED, and I mean packed. Thousands and thousands of demigods and quart gods either sat, stood or flew in the hall, babbling with excitement and shock-the king as dead!

The demigod at the front was called Iyo (Ridge and I both agreed it was a weird name) and he held a piece of paper in his hand.

"Everyone, please calm down! I hold Mexxy's will in my hand!" he shouts, and the hall goes silent. Ridge and I, and our family sat at the front. The Yogscast and Team Crafted had gone home, because, and I quote from Sips, "We'll die if we go in there, jeez!"

Iyo coughs, and begins to read.

"I, Mexxy, the 129th king of the VoxelBox, am writing this will now in case my certain death comes upon me before I can write this. I was not a loved monarch, so I hope the next one will be.

My riches and jewels will go to the Yogscast and Team Crafted to help them in their productions on the mortal land as thanks for helping my family through the darkest times.

I don't have much else other than the crown, so I'm sure you're all waiting for who the next monarch is.

As tradition dictates, the crown must go to the eldest boy who is a demigod. The only demigod male child I have is Cisco. But he has already informed me that he does not want the crown. Therefore it should go to the next male.

However, the male children I have are mortals, whereas my daughter is a quart god. She has proved herself worthy of not only being an amazing immortal, but an amazing leader too. I know exactly what she will do if she has the crown.

So, I, King Mexxy, decree that the crown shall go to Tia."

The crowd goes silent, and I feel thousands of eyes trained on me. I was frozen to the spot, unable to move.

Me? Queen of the Voxel Box?

Was he drunk when he wrote this?

I slowly stand up, trying not to let my legs shake. Cisco stands up, tall and proud, with the crown on a crimson red pillow. Surely he would be a better king...

Deamon takes the crown off the pillow, and leads me to the throne. I sit down on it, blinking rapidly at the massive crowd in front of me.

"You know exactly what to do with this don't you?" Deamon murmurs, grinning at me.

And then I realize exactly what I want to do with this crown. I smile at Deamon, and he winks back, putting the crown on my head.

Instantaneously, the crowd bows. Even those flying bow.

I swallow nervously, standing up, and they do too. I walk forward, letting my eyes scan over everyone's faces.

"As...As the Queen of the Voxel Box..." I start, licking my lips.

"I...I give the crown to Ridgedog." I smile.

The crowd grins, but the biggest grin of all was-

He appears out of nowhere, grinning hugely and spinning me round in a bone-crunching hug.

I pluck the crown off my head, pushing him into the throne and stick the crown on his head, banging it a little too hard on purpose. He winks at me, and he stands up.

Automatically, the crowd cheers so loudly, my eardrums nearly burst. Ridge holds his arms up and nearly everyone freaks out with excitement-the old king was back on the throne.

When everyone has become quiet, he clears his throat.

"To celebrate, I think we should have a party" he grins.

Judging by the excited yells, everyone agreed.

________________________________________________

That night, the Voxel Box had a massive party, and I mean massive. The amount of food there could feed the world!

Everyone was happy. None of them had to live in fear of Mexxy's rule where, one step out of line and you were executed. Ridgedog was on the throne, and even he gave second chances.

"Am I a prince now?" Ryan squeals after the party. Well, the party was still going, but they needed to go to bed in their new bedroom at the Voxel Box palace.

"Yep" I laugh, kissing him on the head and tucking him in. I tuck Robin in too, and she smiles. "If Deamon comes in, tell him to go away-he's drunk so don't let him do anything" I warn. She giggles. "Night mum" they chorus, and I turn the light off, smiling at them softly. "Night, my angels" I whisper, before shutting the door.

The throbbing of the music could be heard from up here, and I grimace. Ridgedog appears suddenly in the corridor, his crown firm on his head. He picks me up and spins me round again, still grinning-he hadn't stopped grinning all day.

"I love you. You've given me everything I have ever dreamed of" he whispers, kissing me softly. I smile, stroking his cheek. "I'm still the queen, so screw you" I laugh, making a silver crown appear and putting it on my head.

"You look good in a crown" he winks, before kissing me messily. I splutter, pushing him away. "Are you drunk?" I snap, trying not to grin. "No!" he protests, tripping over his own feet. I laugh, taking him by the hand. "Come on, let's go party!" I grin.

Note: PARTEH TIME YEAAHHHH
