Inevitable // Chapter 7
•
Delilah Bates
"Delilah calm down." Mr. Venera said reaching across the table to grab my hands. I snatch my hand away before he made contact, abruptly standing from my chair leering at each and everyone of the faces that had the audacity to even sit in front of me.
"You have no right to tell me what to do!" I yell, my voice louder than I intended but I was seething mad. I could feel myself feeding into my anger and adrenaline, the feeling from earlier returning. I usually had better control of my temper but lately everything has been keeping me on edge.
No one moved, or even breathed, they all stared at me as if I was crazy. Hell, I probably do look crazy but that's only because they'be just told me everything. I couldn't, I refused, to listen to anything else they had to say. Everything I was taught and everything I've learned was all a lie.
I grab the chair I was previously sitting on and slung it across the room. The chair smashing to pieces as it hit the wall. I saw everyone jump a little from the unexpected reaction but I didn't stop there.
Before I knew it, I was smashing and throwing any and every thing I could get my hands on as they all stared. I was just heading towards their stupid large television when I felt two large hands grabbing me by my shoulders preventing me from moving. Knowing that if I didn't stop their entire house would be destroyed.
I thrashed in their grip, screaming out my frustration as I couldn't get free. "Delilah-"
"Shut up!" I screamed not caring about the fact that I just said that to Zoe's mom.
"-you have to calm down-"
I kicked my leg behind me, landing a few good kicks to the person's legs but still they didn't release me.
"-I know you were lied to.-" Zara annoyingly continues. This time I took a moment to look at her, I watch her tense for a second before she turned her gaze away from me.
"Stop talking Zara," I say lowly, enunciating each word slowly.
"-but you must know."
My body trembled as I glared daggers towards Zara. There was so much resentment building inside of me, that I wasn't sure what would happen next if she didn't stop speaking this very second.
"Um, Zara, honey." Mr.Venera, who I now knew was holding me, said from behind me only to be cut off by Zara herself.
"We were only trying to protect you." Something inside of me snapped as I felt myself lose all of my control. Every inch of my body filled with a rush of adrenaline, my senses heighten, a dangerous surge of anger searing throughout my every vein.
I locked my gaze on Zara who froze in place as she locked her eyes with mine. With sudden ease I peeled Mr. Venera's hands off of me, tightly gripping his hands in mine. I glare at him, bending his hand back in an ungodly way earning a hiss of pain from him. "I said let. Me. Go!" I shoved him away from him making him stumble back a few feet before tripping and falling backward.
Behind him, I spotted both a shocked and scared Zoe and Tony. I didn't stare long as I focus back on the one who wouldn't stop talking. Zara.
Slowly, I stalked towards her making her take a few steps back.
"Delilah." She calls my name. The way she was looking at me, I knew I probably looked like the person I saw in the mirror. Someone that wasn't me. "Don't make me do this, the last thing I want to do is hurt you." She pleads while lifting her fists into a fighting stance.
I cock my head to the side. "Would you really hurt poor naïve Haille?" I asked innocently still advancing towards her. I dropped the innocent act as I began to laugh humorlessly.
"I find this hilarious really." I spat "I mean my whole life everyone has lied and hid things from me. For eighteen years! And now you want me to listen to you?" In a minute I was already on top of her, gripping her neck into my hands squeezing the fragile flesh. Her breath comes out in irregular gasps and she looks at me with frantic eyes. I could easily break her neck.
"Delilah, stop!" Caught off guard, a body smashes into mine knocking me off of Zara leaving her to a coughing fit. I was a bit shocked to see Zoe pushing me backward so she was now straddling me trying to hold me down.
I thrash under her, seeing as she was surprisingly strong for her slim figure. The next thing I felt was a faint stinging pain on my cheek.
That seems to bring me back to reality as I stare at my "best friend" in shock. She slapped me.
I shove her off of me without a fight from her, sending one last glare towards Zara before walking out the front door leaving my past behind me.
I refuse to associate with that part of my life any longer.

I sit on my bed trying to make sense of all that has happened in the span of than twenty-four hours.
I've found out about my crazy background, my friends are freaking wolves, my father is actually an 'Alpha' and is away protecting his pack, and my mom is actually a guardian wolf too, who is currently missing.
I can't believe my own mother lied to me. But I guess it all makes sense, the clues were all sitting in front of me. I fall back onto my pillows listening to the soft sounds of an empty house.
Thinking of how messed up my life is, I slowly drifted off to sleep.
•
I wake up breathless, instantly realizing where I am. I found myself becoming somewhat grateful that I had some how found my way back here, to Chandler.
The mere thought of him had a foreign sensation flowing throughout there entirety of my body. Straight ahead stood the same tall mirror that was there before, allowing me to notice that I was clad in yet another similar white dress as the first.
I seriously need to find out who keeps dressing me despite the dresses being incredibly comfortable and beautiful, it's kind of weird waking up in a new set of clothes.
The moment I stand from the bed, the glass doors that leads to the bathroom flies open revealing a half naked Chandler walking out.
I watch as he stand in all his glory, droplets of water sliding down his chest, the steam flooding around his feet giving him a glowing look. I stare as his damp hair hangs over his face leaving droplets sliding down his face past those pink lips of his. He swings a white towel around his shoulders and pushes his hair out of his face.
I gasp turning away and hiding my face into my hands as I catch his grey eyes staring at me with a cocky smirk on his face.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to stare." I quickly rush out, still not turning to look at him. He couldn't see my tinted cheeks when I realize that I voluntarily admitted to staring at his half naked body.
I jump, startled as I feel a set of thick arms wrapping around my waist and warm breath tickling the nape of my neck as he spoke. "Don't apologize." He says huskily. "I'm all yours, you can stare as long as you'd like." He place a kiss on my jaw sending waves of pleasure through every fiber of me, leaving my toes curled and my hands clenched.
I leaned back into his arms, savoring the calm and relaxing feeling he gives me. The contentment he brings me by being in my presence. Overlooking the fact that he was being annoyingly vague during our last encounter, I was sure that he hasn't lied to me about anything. But then again people who I thought I could trust with my life turned around and practically backstabbed me.
"You wouldn't lie to me, would you?" I ask softly. He pulls away, probably wondering where that came from.
"Never." He answers nonetheless, making me smile and turn in his arms, suddenly becoming aware of how naked he was.
"Promise?" I ask holding up my pinky, he looks at my finger and grins, "I promise." His finger wraps around mine.
"Good." I smile sweetly before pushing him away from me, "Now please, go put on some clothes."
He laughs and salute. Turning to go put on his clothes, I busy myself with making the bed I just woke from. When I finish, I notice a third door that I failed to realize was there the last time. My hand is on the doorknob when I hear Chandler behind me, "Where are you going?". I snatch my hand away, like a kid caught taking a coookie from the jar, and turn around to see him just pulling his shirt.
"No where." I step away from the door. "I just wanted to know what was behind the door."
He walks closer and pulls the door open revealing a long hall, almost entirely made of gold. What appeared to be soldiers stood on the sides of the wall several feet between each other. Their posture one of a statue. "Oh." Is all I can manage. He closes the door, and stands in front of it. "We can explore later, but for now let's talk."
"Talk?" I repeat confused. I allow him to take my hand into his and lead me over to the foot of the bed.
"You know, about yourself, me, us or why you seem so depressed." I look up at him, surprised at his last insinuation.
"I'm not depressed." I sigh. "Just upset." He smiles encouragingly so I continue to tell him about how my life made a full turn and not how I would have liked it too. I felt betrayed, like I can trust no one but myself.
"You can always trust me." he cuts me off, emphasizing his words strongly. "If not anyone else, you can always come to me; about anything." I lean into his shoulder. Despite the fact that we've just met, I believe every word he utters. He spoke with such confidence, it left no room for any doubt or worries. Deep down I knew I could trust Chandler. "Besides I think you should give them another chance."
"Them? Another chance?" I scoff. "I don't think so."
His hand covers mine as he says "It's not entirely their fault, they were just following orders." he clarifies "From your father." This makes me perk up.
"My father." I parrot. He nods in confirmation.
"I've heard so many stories of that day." He smiles, and look down at me. His shoulder bumps with mine. "The day you were born. Everyone talked about it for years."
"What's so special about me being born and my father telling everyone to hide my life from me." I snap. He raises his brows, making me feel bad about my temper. "Sorry." I quickly mumble.
"No need." He brushes it off easily with a lazy grin. "I can tell you the story if you'd like. My mom used to tell it to me when I was a kid. "
A smile threatens the corner of my lips as his eyes brighten, I nod.
"Well, if my memory is correct this whole misunderstanding started June 6..."
Fix this and make them do something fun where she talk about her problems and he tried to clarify somethings.
Yes, please fix this because their conversation was incredibly cheesy and chick flicky
Lol. It wasn't the best. I like the diligent but some editing could be done. I'll see what I can do seeing as I'm editing today.
