Riptide
Deep, shifting, hypnotizing
The water's inexplicable pull
What draws us to this briny abyss
Is an enigma to all
Perhaps it's the enchanting way
The waves move to and fro
Or possibly the sparkling stare
That says it knows what you don't
However, for me, it's the vast unknown
That attracts me ever near
The quiet, muffled uneasiness
In the way that we appear
More magnetic yet is the mystery
Lying in the surreptitious depths
And the effortless relation I have
With its overt tendency to relapse
No, it's not the beatific components
Of the ocean that fascinates me
Rather, its staggering metaphor
Of which I might never be free
Author's Note!
Hey, I haven't written in like a week! Ahhhh!
But I'm back, and I really like this one! I've had this idea for awhile, and I finally got all my feelings about the ocean down on paper and into a poem. How do you guys feel about it? Does anyone relate?
Thanks for reading, love you guys!
