“Mhm this place is creepy,” I complain strolling deeper into the forest.
“Nah, its beautiful,” Ashley says simper.
I glance around scanning my surrounding left and right. The trees are black trunks against a bluish charcoal sky. The sense of smell is sensitized, the loam in the earth and the decomposing leaves make the atmosphere close and thick. The ground smells of rotten fertiliser, Damp and disgusting. I knew i should have brought shoes. I shouldn’t  have listen to Ashley. The wind keeps howling creepily sending chills down my spine. I can still smell the odour from the decomposing wood. There is something odd about this place.
“Lily,” a whisper creeps next to me.
I gaze all around me my heat racing so fast it feels like it’s going to detonate into tiny chunks. Wait.. Where is Ashley? She must be playing a joke on me or something.
“Ashley! Come on stop playing tricks on me! You know I’m scared of the dark!!” i shout hoping she would stop.
Usually she won’t do this stuff.. She doesn’t like being alone out here, that’s why we always stick together. My breathing now heavy and my legs now trembling in fear. It’s as if my heart is popping out of my chest.
“Please Ashley if it’s you stop,” i cry.
I hear footsteps gaining upon me fast and deadly. They weren’t Ashley’s steps. I sprint further into the forest running like I’m about to be kidnapped. I lunge through trees while its thin branches knock my body, my breath huffing and puffing murderously. Sweat rises on my forehead slowly dripping down my thin face like a tear slowly dribbling down your cheek. I can’t breath. I swear if she is joking around I’m going to murder her! I grab hold of my asthma puffer from my long dark blue ripped jeans. 1 puff. 2 puffs. Why cant i breathe properly?! It feels like the world is taking away my oxygen. I place my hands on my knees arching forward.
“Lily, Lily, Lily ,Lily!!!!!!!” the voice loudens every time it says my name.
My heart skips a beat. I spin around seeing if anyone is around. But nothing.. completely nothing.. What is this? I jump over a large brown log and sprint over to a tall figure hoping it’s Ashley. As i get closer it disappears into a tear of dust. I blink twice and pinch myself. Breathe Lily breathe. This has to be a joke. I feel my hands turning to ice from the coldness.  I stare into the distance and see a long narrow footpath. It seems as if it never ends. I can do this. Just a few more metres Lily, it isn’t a big deal just breathe.
In a heat stopping moment, i hear heavy breathing and a humid, sticky breath breathe down my neck. My curly black hair rises slowly. My heart pounds vividly. My small pale hands shake uncontrollably while the rest of my body is frozen. Don’t look back Lily dont.
“Lilly,” a deep raspy non living voice whispers in my ear.
I shut my eyes harder then ever hoping to wake up from this nightmare. This can’t be real. It has to be a dream. I bite my lip causing it to tear open. I hate the taste of blood. I trend around reluctantly, although i want to run, run as fast as i can go. Nothing was there.. at least that’s what i think..
