Memorial Cup Final - Kelowna vs Oshawa

I smile at the atmosphere around me as I sit in the crowd at the Memorial Cup Final in Quebec. I watch the players from both teams skating around the ice for warm ups. "I can't believe they made it this far" I tell my mom who is sitting next to me, "well they've had a pretty fantastic season" she replies smiling, I nod happily. "I'm going to go down to the glass" I add getting out of my seat to walk down to the glass. I smile as I watch Josh skating, once he sees me he winks at me making me blush, I blow him a kiss and make a heart with my hands, his smiles widens as he skates away to the bench. The lights dim as I watch the big screen with a video of previous memorial cup games, I take this as a cue to go back to my seat. I curl my hands into my Morrissey jersey as I anxiously wait for the puck drop.

Finally, after what seems like forever, the puck is dropped and the game begins. I keep my eyes solely on Josh as he defends for the Rockets. I jump out of my seat when Thomas Soustal scores for Kelowna in the first period. I cringe once Oshawa scores in the second, I see the Kelowna bench and all the guys are bent over sadly, I pout but keep thinking positive thoughts about this game. The game goes to overtime which does nothing good for my nerves. I sit on the edge of my seat the whole time biting my lip twisting my hand together. I watch as a Generals player gets the puck behind Whistle, my hands drop into my lap as I try not to cry as I watch the Rockets hang their heads as the Generals' players' equipment litters the ice as they celebrate their win. I see Josh hit his stick against the boards in frustration, all I want to do is go make him feel better but I know that i'll have to wait until the game is completely over. The players line up for handshakes, the defeat on the Kelowna players' faces kills me inside so I decide to just go to the lobby so that I can wait for Josh to be done.

I lean against a wall playing with my phone as I wait for the team to appear. After a few minutes I hear someone whistling, I look up and a guy holding an Oshawa Generals bag winks at me, I scrunch up my nose in disgust looking back down at my phone. An arm comes next to my face making me look up quickly, the guy that winked is standing in front of me with his hand on the wall next to my head smirking at me. "May I help you?" I ask him putting my phone back into my pocket crossing my arms across my chest, "yeah would you go with me to get something to eat?" he replies, I laugh in his face, he loses his smirk looking at me confused, "oh your serious, it's just how did you not notice the jersey that i'm wearing?" I exclaim spreading my arms showing off my Kelowna jersey. "I can make you change your mind" he tells me the smirk coming back to his face, "it's okay I don't think my boyfriend would really like that" I say getting away from him to go wait somewhere else for Josh.

I hear more footsteps a few minutes later so I look up from my phone and smile when I see a bunch of Kelowna players walking towards me, I wave at them happily, they all bring out some small smiles as I walk closer to them. Before I know what's happening i'm squished in a huge group hug making me laugh, "you guys were amazing! don't let anyone tell you otherwise" I explain barely able to breath. They all let go of me walking out the doors to get to their bus, once i'm standing there alone again I spot Josh coming closer with his head down looking at his phone. I smile breaking out into a run as I jump on him making him drop his phone so that he can hold me up. He smiles once he realizes that its only me, "you did amazing" I tell him, I don't let him reply as I bring my lips onto his kissing him gently as his arms tighten around me. I pull away smiling at Josh as he sets me back onto the ground with a smile mirroring mine on his face, "we did okay" he says shrugging with his arms still around my waist, I hit his arm, "you guys were great, you made it so far and proved everyone wrong by working so hard" I explain, he kisses my forehead gently as a response. Josh puts me down before picking up his phone and putting it in his pocket. He takes my hand in his smiling as he walks to the team bus with me in tow, "I can't go on the bus Josh" I tell him stopping, "it's fine" he explains to me squeezing my hand, I bite my lip thinking over if I want to join the team on the bus.

I find myself sitting next to Josh on the team bus with all the guys sleeping around me including Josh who is leaning on me. I run my fingers through his hair gently keeping myself occupied as I look out the window watching the scenery go by, the bus stops in front of our hotel, "Josh, we're here" I tell him shaking him slightly to get him to wake up, most of the guys have woken up by the time me and Josh have gotten off of the bus. I try to go back to my hotel room but Josh won't let me, "sleep with me tonight?" he asks me pouting, "you have a roommate" I explain to him, "fine then I'll go to your room" he tells me smiling as he kisses my head. 

We finally get settled in my room with Josh holding me close under the covers of my bed, he kisses my neck gently before burying his head into the crook of my neck. I sigh putting my hand on his arm as I fall into a dreamless sleep looking forward to going back home.
