Why did you start writing? What made you pick up the pen?
I've always loved to write. In elementary school, I wrote countless stories and I loved to read. That love has continued on to this day.
Have you always been into writing horror? Or did you find your calling later?
I always loved reading Goosebumps and Fear Street! R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike were two of my favorite authors when I was growing up. I didn't start writing horror until I joined Wattpad in 2014.
Is there another genre that you love and you wish you were better at writing?
I write in several YA genres. I have a YA romance book coming out from Entangled in 2020.
How long have you been on Wattpad, and what drew you to it?
I've been on Wattpad since 2014. This was thanks to my friend Apryl Baker (@AprylBaker7), author of The Ghost Files.
Most people write because they want to be a bestseller with millions of reads. As someone who has already achieved that, what does Wattpad mean to you?
Wattpad is a wonderful platform! I adore my readers and fans! Their comments on my stories mean the world to me. They have given me so much over the years and I will be forever grateful.
Do you find it hard to kill off characters, or do you relish it?
It definitely depends on the character.
What is your favourite book on Wattpad, and favourite off Wattpad?
My favorite book on Wattpad is Follow Me Back by A.V. Geiger (@adam_and_jane). I have loads of favorite books off of Wattpad, but I'll always read anything by Suzanne Collins, Amanda Hocking, Brandon Mull, and/or Harlan Coben.
What are your favourite and least favourite book to screen adaptations?
I loved seeing Hunger Games come to life from book to screen!
What are you working on right now?
I just finished a new book and I'm in the process of sending it out to beta readers and self edits. I'm turning it in to my editor soon. Woo hoo!
If you could only send your fans a one sentence message, what would it be?

How do you go about scaring someone just with words on a page?
I get scared very easily, so I like to draw on what freaks me out and put it on the pages.
How do you make your characters believable and realistic?
I often "see" the scenes in my head. I imagine how they would play out. I love adding sensory details and other aspects that make everything appear more realistic. I think that is way horror novels have such an impact on readers, they are playing on your deepest and darkest fears, which evokes an emotional response.
Do you use yourself and people you know as a muse to held create your characters?
Totally! Sometimes I just see someone walking down the street and I decide that they need to be in my next book, ASAP! :)
What is your writing process? Where do you write? When? How long for? Noise or silence?
I try to write Monday through Friday. I usually have a movie or TV show I've watched a million times on in the background. Total silence is distracting to me. I can also listen to music if I'm writing in a coffee shop.
What advice would you give to writers who are just starting out? Try to write as often as possible! Study your craft by going to workshops, reading books about writing, etc. If you want to be an author, take your writing seriously. It's hard work, but you can achieve your goals! Lastly, be persistent. Authors get rejections ALL OF THE TIME! You have to develop a thick skin and learn not to take rejections personally, it's just a part of the business. Believe in yourself and you will achieve success!
