You can call me August, but I will also be summoned by cool pond bugs and/or pictures of cats. I'm a queer spec fic writer with a fondness for tossing characters into things they think they aren't prepared for; most of my work is Dark Fantasy or Horror, but I cross paths with Sci-Fi, Paranormal, and Romance more often than not. If my books have anything in common, it's wild settings, happy endings, casual rep, and kickass disaster queers being disasters but also kickass!

You can find me on Wattpad as @SmokeAndOranges and on Patreon as A.B. Channing. I post books in both places, but if you need somewhere to start, check out Red Rover on Wattpad—it's a Watty-winning YA Sapphic Horror novel featuring a waterborne entity that puts you to sleep if it knows your name. I have less spooky stuff too, if that's more your style!
