Chapter 14.

Dedicated to xubydah

NIKOLAS

"She is not here. She is at the beach and that is exactly what is pissing me off." André laughs over the voice call while Lucas teases me.

"And you are sure you feel nothing for her?" André says.

"Yes, man. Absolutely nothing." I state. Wait a minute, it sounds more of me convincing myself. "She is way younger than I am, 6 years age difference." Plus she's a spoiltbrat, I say this last part to myself.

"Nikolas! Were you listening to me at all?" It was André talking again.

"Sorry, were you talking?" I ask.

"You are whipped, man." He adds.

"No, I am not."

"Alright. She's in the beach all alone and a guy her age range would probably be talking to her right now? Grandpa. Ouch! Sophia." André says, groaning in pain at the last part.

"You deserved it, naughty man." I faintly hear her say.

"I am not a Grandpa." I retort.

"Says the man whose wife is younger than him by 6 years." Lucas laughs at what André said. These two men want to just laugh at my expense today. The thought of some other guy approaching her in that outfit she wore today bothered me badly.

"Guys, I need to go." I say in a rush.

"Bye, Grandpa." Lucas teases. I pray I hear the end of this. Not waiting, I disconnect the phone, preparing to go to the beach.

I rub my head in frustration as the thought of what she wore before leaving for the beach played through my mind. I change into appropriate beach wears and pick up my phone before locking up.

Ammoudi Beach, here I come.

•••••

My eyes scam through the crowd. I have been here for fifteen minutes now and still no sign of her. Then I spot her, without her sarong, just on her bikini, talking to a guy who was obviously flirting with her. He seemed within her age range.

"Grandpa!" I could mentally picture Lucas taunt me.

She had on her sunglasses so it was difficult to read her facial expression. Although, from her body language and how she laughed at everything he said, she seems to be enjoying every bit of it. Let us not even delve into how she looks right now.

I hastily walk towards them when she suddenly stood up to leave, adjusting her sarong on her waist.

"So how about we meet up again. Say, same time tommorrow?" He asks her. He has guts, really.

"Sorry I can't." Better. I thought she would give a different answer. She chose wisely.

"Sorry to ask this, but why?" He plays it off, cooly.

"Because..." she starts but I take it as my cue to butt in.

"Because she is married, asshole."

I walk up to her and peck her on the forehead. If looks could kill, he would probably be dead right now, courtesy the glare I sent his way.

"Mr. Nikolas Galanis." He gasps as realization hits him. I smirk as I walk to her, holding her by the waist and pulling her to me. A soft gasp escapes from her lips.

"Hello, moro mou." I force a smile as I look at her from head to toe. She just glares at me in return. Typical!

"I am sure you have been taught never to have an eye on other people's wives.  So leave now while I can still hold myself together." I warn him with an underlying threat in my voice.

"And you, you are coming with me." I hold her arms and pull her towards the path that leads to the house.

"You are hurting me." She cries out, making me abruptly stop moving and release her hands.

"Sorry." I try touching her hand to sooth the pain but she pushes my hand off like it is infected.

"Leave me the fuck alone!" She walks briskly in front of me in anger. I like me this version of her, the sway of her hips and her ass as she moves is a major turn on for any guy.

How will it feel to finally have her stubborn ass beneath me and kiss away all the memories of the men she had in her life? Wait, why am I having these thoughts?

"Enjoying the view from here." I call out and she stops, turning back to look at me. I wiggle my eyebrows and she surprising laughs in return.

"You should laugh often. It suits you more." I say, to further lighten up the moment.

"You are honestly annoying. What you did was totally unneccessary and stop looking at my ass." She glares at me as she says the last part, making me chuckle.

"He was into you." I defend myself.

"And you have a problem with that because? The marriage ends in three months. Besides, I am not interested in him." She folds her arms into each other.

"Three months and two weeks." I correct.

"Same difference." She shrugs. "Let's go. I am tired already." She adds.

"Alright." I say.

Once we get home, she heads straight to the bathroom to freshen up while I just stay in the sitting room attending to some business on my phone.

Her phone buzzes and it is a message from Imogen.

Have you made up your mind yet? They'll still come whether or not you want to go.

That crazy woman, doing stuffs without informing the party affected for permission.

"So Imogen sent you a text." I say to Amethyst who walks in and turns on the TV.

"Alright. Thanks." She picks up the phone and looks at the message.

"I am not going." She states as she types. Say it. Don't say it. Say it, goddamit.

"Let's go for it." I state, finally giving into the subconscious part of me that has been fighting an inner battle.

"Huh?" She raises an eyebrow, questioning my statement.

"What did you say?" She asks, as if to confirm.

"Let's go for it." I repeat. She looks at me, puzzled then walks up to me and lifts her hand up to touch my head and my neck. What's she doing?

"Temperature is okay. Are you sure you're fine? Did anything hit your head?" She touches her chin in wonder.

"So, why the sudden change of heart?" She cocks an eyebrow in my direction. Sassy!

"Look, I am sorry for what I said earlier. I know I wanted us to come here to enjoy our last months married but I have really not been welcoming. I've been an ass, at least let me make up with this event. I promise to be good." I hear myself say these things. Even though it was a spur in the moment thing, I actually mean it.

"Yeah. You're really an ass." She rolls her eyes in response.

"I'll agree on one condition. You'll seize calling me spoilt brat at any chance you get." She raises her eyebrows, daring me to say No.

"Yes, I will stop." I scratch the back of my head. I couldn't believe this.

"You got yourself a yes, then. We have only tommorrow to prepare." She says and concentrates on the show she's watching. I just keep studying her, this woman I call my wife is a handfull and will surely drive me insane someday!
