Chapter 11
I followed Zane through the tunnels in the nether, and he stopped in front of a small fortress. I grabbed him by the hair again, and pointed my dagger at his neck. "Is this where my brother is?"
He nodded carefully.
"Are you lying? Because if you are, then I will kill you. I don't care what you've done I won't let you manipulate me." He rolled his eyes. I let him go and walked up to the fortress, and pounded on the door. "Laurance you better open that door now you hermit!"
I heard a thud behind me, and I turned around to see Laurance standing in front of me. "Laurance?" I whispered.
"(Y/N)?" He growled, his voice was deep and angry. "What are you doing here?"
"I came here to get you-"
"You need to leave, you can't be here!"
"Laurance I-"
"Leave! Before in do some thing I regret!" I slapped him.
"I don't care what you do, you could kill me for all I care, but I'm not leaving until you explain to me-"
"You're pregnant?" He growled. I swallowed down my sudden fear.
"H-How did you-"
"Huh?" He looked up and growled. "You need to go now!" He turned, and faced the others. "Go!" They jumped over the edge of the bridge.
"Laurance, what's going on?"
"He's coming," he growled, pulling out his sword.
"I'm not leaving, I can help you!" I yelled going for my sword.
"No!" He pushed me over the edge of the bridge, and I feel into Garroth's arms below. Garroth set me down.
"I'm not forgiving you for that!" I snarled. We made our way up a hill, and glanced back and I saw... Shad and some other guy. "Who are they?"
"They don't exactly like us," Garroth said, grabbing my hand. "We need to get out of here!"
Katelyn grabbed Aphmau, and we ran for the portal. "Guys were being followed!" I yelled as we ran, but no one heard me. We made it through the portal.
When we got through the portal I pulled my hand away from Garroth. "Guys, we lost Zane, and Shad is still-"
"That's right Lezina. I'm right here," I turned to face him. "Irene," he growled.
"You're not going to get to her unless you kill me." I threatened, feeling my heart beat.
"Very well." He swung something at me, but I caught it, and twisted the blade from his hand throwing it straight at the wall.
"Oops, I spilled a little blood," I mumbled, smiling, I flicked my blood on stones and stared at him. "I saw that coming."
"Join me, Lezina," I felt my relic beat like a second heart, and my body stiffened.
I felt my arms shaking and I punched him in the face. "I'm not my mother!" I growled. He staggered back.
"How would you feel if your child were to be killed."
"Child?" Garroth spoke up. I pursed my lips and kicked Shad in the balls. He just backed up, and laughed.
"Leave, leave before I kill you, Shad." I growled. He sighed.
"Such a shame, I was looking forward to working for you. Oh well, next time," he waved his hand, and I flew backwards into a wall. I grunted as I fell to the floor. I watched with blurry eyes as the nether portal disappeared.
Garroth ran over to me, and lifted my head up. "What child?"
"I... uh-" I fell into his arms, and passed out.
I woke up in a large bed, and sat up quickly. Garroth was sitting on the side, and he quickly stood up from his chair, knocking it over. "(Y/N)!"
I painted heavily, and leaned back, letting out all my anxiety. "(Y/N), what child was Shad talking about?"
"Garroth I-"
"Don't lie to me okay?"
"Garroth let me talk-"
"If you lie to me I swear to Irene-"
"Garroth, I'm pregnant!" I screamed. He backed up, slightly surprised. I covered my face with my hands, to hide the tears.
"You're... pregnant?"
"I tried to tell you, believe me I tried," I mumbled into my hands. "I just... I was nervous!"
I felt the weight of the mattress shift, and he pulled my hands away from my face. "Why are you crying?"
"Because I got pregnant in the worst time possible!" I replied.
"What makes you say that?" Garroth asked soothingly, while brushing tears from my face.
"Garroth you saw why, your brother's out there and..." I stopped. "And he's... Garroth."
"What?"
"I need to get back to Phoenix Drop now." I said standing up, and grabbing my sword off the wall.
"(Y/N), what's going on?" Garroth asked as I threw on my jacket, and laced up my boots.
"I need to go help Emmalyn. It's important."
"Why? What's happening?"
"Garroth, I need to go now or I'm going to be too late!" Garroth pulled me into a kiss.
"Just be careful, okay?"
"I'll try," I nodded, and ran out of the building, straight for the port.
When I got there, there wasn't a boat around aside from a small row boat to which there were fishers getting out. I ran over to them. "Can I borrow your boat?"
"Lady Lezina! O-Of course!" They bowed, and I jumped into the boat and focused some power into the water, and the boat blasted from the docks, straight to Phoenix Drop.
Which I had arrived to in a minute. I jumped from the boat, and ran straight to Emmalyn and Kenmur's house. I saw Zane inside chatting with Emmalyn. "Zane!" I growled.
He stood up quickly. "Emmalyn, run!" I yelled. She stood up, and ran out of the house. I stared at Zane, "what now? The scholar is gone."
"Not quite," he grinned.
"What-"
"Lady Lezina, join me, and teach me more about this fragment," he smiled holding up the object. I hissed at him as my body obeyed his orders.
"Yes, Zane." My body bowed as I cursed myself silently. He technically had me by the leash.
"Now follow me." He started to walk out, but I forced myself to stay which took a lot of willpower. He poked his head inside. "Would you rather have me go find that other scholar?"
I let go, and let my relic control my body, and put my mind in hypersleep mode.
Zane now had control over me, and I didn't understand why.
