Chapter 19
<<<ELSA'S POV>>>
Bright lights shone on my closed eyelids. What a way to wake up with nice sunshine! Weather forecasts say it will rain soon. I hope not, I'm not too fond of the rain. Snow is more my thing personally! I jumped out of bed took a soothing shower and dried my hair. I threw on a light blue baggy hoodie, some black skinny jeans and slippers. I'm not getting dolled up just yet for crying out loud! I styled my hair into my signature French braid. Ring. Ring. Is that my phone? I grabbed my phone. Nine missed FaceTimes from Pitch, sixteen missed calls from Pitch and thirty-two text messages from Pitch and one from Mama. Jesus, my best friend is so over protective with me but I love him for caring. Not in that way! I don't see him in that way. Mama messaged? I wonder what for? I jumped on my bouncy bed and returned the call - he didn't answer. Wait seriously? Maybe, it's because we are probably FaceTiming each other at the same time? Incoming FaceTime from Pitch. I answered the phone.
"Are you okay?! Are you hurt?! What happened?! Do I need to send my bodyguards?! Are you--" - Pitch
"Hey, hey, hey. One question at a time, please! I'm fine, I not long got up and I just came out of the shower." - Elsa
"Next time, please please please check your phone before jumping in the shower and leaving me for so long?" - Pitch
"*Mutters* Okay, Mr Overprotective." - Elsa
"I heard that!" - Pitch
"*Laughs* I was only kidding!" - Elsa
I paused Pitch on FaceTime and checked the message from Mama. Right, she wants me to check on the house.
"Els, where did you go?" - Pitch
"Just checking a message from my Mama." - Elsa
"Ah, aren't you house sitting?" - Pitch
"Correct." - Elsa
"Right! I have to go, Els. I have a meeting in the next twenty-five minutes!" - Pitch
"Okay, Pitch. *Sniggers* Have fun!" - Elsa
"Not funny, Els." - Pitch
"*Flips hair* You love me really." - Elsa
"*Laughs* I know." - Pitch
"I'll see you later, Pitch." - Elsa
"Bye, Els!" - Pitch
Well I had better check on Mama's house. I threw on my light blue converse and grabbed my car keys. I have two cars, but I will use my light blue Range Rover sport. I headed to my blue Range Rover sport.
"Time to head off to Mama's." I said to myself.
I'm so glad that my windows have the black-out effect. Many people were staring at my car - I live in the suburban area of town, where as Mama lives in the high end hills. The house is huge. This house never ceases to amaze me! This was my childhood home...I only miss the small minority of things like the music room, the fact that I used to live with Mama and Anna. I don't miss Papa at all! I unlocked the door and looked around. The foyer hasn't changed at all still the small two curved staircases, diamond dangling chandelier, marble floor, the old paintings and the red fluffy rug in the middle of the two staircases. I began to walk around and open the curtains. This will take me over half an hour, just to open curtains in this house because there are over thirty rooms. I came to the room of horrors...my old bedroom. I shivered at the thought of everything that happened.
"You aren't coming out until you grow up, Elsa! You are going to take over the family business whether you like it or not!"
"No, I am not!"
"No! Please just let me out! You can't keep me in here! Please..."
I shivered at that memory. He was so monstrous to me when I was younger...now, he is trying to patch things up like he never did any of that stuff to me. I stared at the locks on the outside of the door. I opened the door and my room has been left completely untouched. Mama said she would never let him rip out my room from the house as I'm a part of the family no matter what.
"I hate this room..." I muttered to myself.
I sat on the bed and began to cry. Memories flood back of how Papa treated me...all of that was for the damn company, which Anna is going to take over soon anyway! My teacher in home economics, Mr. Moon was always helping me after school, college and uni. Mr Moon was always moving around, weirdly I would always see him! He would only let me call him Manny, never anyone else. There is something about him that I can't quite put my finger on. Memories are hard to ignore. People say forget the past, but it is quite hard. Even if I did sing the song Let It Go with the song lyric of the past is in the past...I could see everything before my eyes again.
*Flashback*
Papa pushed me in my room and I landed on the floor. I was fourteen-years-old, I was crying my eyes out and Papa just stared at me with his stone cold eyes. No remorse in them whenever he looked at me.
"You aren't coming out until you grow up, Elsa! You are taking over the family business whether you like it or not!" Papa shouted.
I felt myself snap. I hate being treated like damn dirt! Especially by my own Papa - I hate being treated like this. I didn't expect to retaliate as I stood up and glared at him.
"No, I am not!" I exclaimed.
Papa was fuming. He came up to me and slapped me across the face, which made me fall to the floor from the force. I held my cheek and hot tears fell down my face.
"I hate you!" I cried.
He didn't seem one bit affected by my comment. He grabbed the door handle and slammed my door shut. I heard the locks and jumped up banging the door with my fists.
"No! Please just let me out! You can't keep me in here! Please..." I cried.
"You can stay in there until you have grew up and decided to take over the company! Now, get the rest of your homework and extra credit done!" Papa hissed.
I heard his footsteps trail away. I continued to cry hugging my knees with my back against the door. The worst thing was Mama had gone away for the weekend with Anna for the weekend for Anna's camping trip. I'm all alone under his power.
*Flashback over*
I snapped out of my thoughts and dried away the waterfall of tears. I saw my jewellery box and quickly ran to it, my necklace that Mama gave me! It was the necklace she gave to me when I was born. It has a moon and star and it's silver. I put it on and smiled like a child. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of orange juice. I looked down the east wing hall and see the huge double doors. That's the music room! I washed up my empty glass and open the huge double doors, it hasn't changed! I walked over to the piano and start playing Let It Go then I took a deep breath and started singing.
"The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I'm the Queen..."
I took a deep breath as I thought about me taking over Papa's company and being looked at as some sort of Queen.
"The wind is howling like this perfect storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I've tried..."
"Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know!"
"Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door!"
"I don't care
What they're going to say
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway!"
"It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all!"
"It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free!"
I smiled as I thought back to my catering business and how Papa has no longer got any sort of control over me - I really am finally free!
"Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry!"
"Here I stand
And here I'll stay
Let the storm rage on!"
"My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiralling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallises like an icy blast
I'm never going back,
The past is in the past!"
Don't show your affected by the past, Elsa. You're strong and hiding your pain is better than looking weak.
"Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone!"
And she'll never be coming back!
Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on!
The cold never bothered me anyway."
I smiled widely. I haven't sang that song in so long! I'm glad that I got to sing that song again, I might think about writing another song soon. I quickly left then I headed back home. It's one already?! Wow, time sure does fly! Who to talk to? Anna? No, she has that meeting. Rapunzel? No, she is out with Eric and Daisy at the zoo. Merida? No, she is making more cakes today. I almost forgot my friend, Kayleigh from Norway! How could I forget that nutjob?
Elsa Winters - Kayleigh! How are you, girl?
Kayleigh Olsen - Elsie! It's been a while! I'm doing good! How are you?
Elsa Winters - I could be better. How have things been in Norway?
Kayleigh Olsen - Things have been okay here. Do you remember Anita Hansen? Mike Jensen's girl?
Elsa Winters - Yeah, I hated her guts! What's the news anyway?
Kayleigh Olsen - She is pregnant!
Elsa Winters - Wow, her and Mike are having a baby? She is growing up for sure then! She is ACTUALLY committing for once in her life!
Kayleigh Olsen - You haven't heard it all yet!
Elsa Winters - What do you mean by that?
Kayleigh Olsen - Do you know the Norwegian entrepreneur William Jakobsen?
Elsa Winters - The one that was always throwing my books off the desk in class? How could I forget? He was a jerk!
Kayleigh Olsen - Well, William is the real baby Daddy!
Elsa Winters - 'What?! Wow, she definitely hasn't changed then! Forget what I said about her just now
Kayleigh Olsen - She'd never change, let's be honest
Elsa Winters - Oh no. She totally has changed BIG style
Kayleigh Olsen - Oh, you really crack me up. Anyway, apparently Mike started it first according to her!
Elsa Winters - Well he was a jock and a play boy, so that wouldn't really surprise me
Kayleigh Olsen - Well, he got another girl pregnant so she wasn't lying!
Elsa Winters - You have got to be kidding me. Why has humanity changed so much and forgotten how relationships, loyalty and commitment?
Kayleigh Olsen - BUT you will never guess who he got pregnant! She was in our homeroom!
Elsa Winters - Zara? Taylor? Gabby? Isabella? Violet?
Kayleigh Olsen - Nope, she wasn't a popular girl!
Elsa Winters - Wow, that's a big change for Mike. Unless he preyed on some girl who had some major crush on him. That sounds about right
Kayleigh Olsen - Yeah, anyway guess!
Elsa Winters - Daniela? Sarah? Abby? Lucy?
Kayleigh Olsen - Nope, do you give in?
Elsa Winters - Yes! Who?
Kayleigh Olsen - Katie!
Elsa Winters - Whoa, hold the phone! No way! No way in chocolate's name, Katie Bakken?!
Kayleigh Olsen - Yup! I was very shocked as well, her parents cut her off too. Luckily, Katie isn't a spoilt little rich kid like Anita is
Elsa Winters - No kidding! Does William Jakobson know about Anita's pregnancy with his baby?'
Kayleigh Olsen - I'm not actually too sure on that. I just get the information off of Lizzie
Elsa Winters - How is Lizzie?! I haven't heard off her in ages and her condition wasn't the best when I left...
Kayleigh Olsen - She had a transplant about a month ago for her liver. She is doing better than she was. That cancer was killing her...
Elsa Winters - Send her my love and hope for her
Kayleigh Olsen - I'll be sure to do that! Don't you worry, she will be glad to hear something about you
Elsa Winters - How is her Papa?
Kayleigh Olsen - Jacob sadly passed away just after her transplant...
Elsa Winters - Oh my gosh...that's terrible! Jacob was such a nice man...it's a shame to have lost such a great man in this world!
Kayleigh Olsen - I know...remember the milk trays that me, you and Lizzie shared every time we saw Jacob? He was the kindest man ever!
Elsa Winters - When was the funeral?
Kayleigh Olsen - Actually, it hasn't happened yet
Elsa Winters - Huh? Why's that?
Kayleigh Olsen - They haven't found a good enough caterer and they want the best for his last goodbye
Elsa Winters - I could do it. I'm the best in my business over here in America!
Kayleigh Olsen - Wow! You would do that for her?
Elsa Winters - You and Lizzie are friends for life, I would do anything for the both of you two!
Kayleigh Olsen - Thank you so much, Elsa! I will tell Lizzie right away!
Elsa Winters - No, no. Don't! Let's leave it as a surprise! You can tell Janet for me though!
Kayleigh Olsen - That will be great! Lizzie and me always talk about seeing you again!
Elsa Winters - Well now you will! Now, what's your plans for today?
Kayleigh Olsen - I'm re-decorating my place! I change it every year!
Elsa Winters - Well, I know how much you love change!
Kayleigh Olsen - You should! Anyway, Ryan is always asking about you too
Elsa Winters - Look, I don't like your brother that way - I actually have been seeing someone for a couple weeks now
Kayleigh Olsen - Wait, WHAT?! And you didn't tell me?!
Elsa Winters - Hehe...oops?
Kayleigh Olsen - Who is he?!
Elsa Winters - Have you heard of the famous company HSP?
Kayleigh Olsen - You mean Hamada Science Projects?
Elsa Winters - Yup!
Kayleigh Olsen - Who is it?! TELL ME!
Elsa Winters - Jeez, jeez. Okay! Okay, it's Tadashi Hamada
Kayleigh Olsen - Damn, you picked a great guy ;)
Elsa Winters - Oh, hush! Anyway, I might be going on another date with him soon!
Kayleigh Olsen - How many dates have you been on?
Elsa Winters - Two so far!
Kayleigh Olsen - Your golden rule! Are you going to kiss him on the third date?!
Elsa Winters - Hehe, maaaaaybe :P
Kayleigh Olsen - ELSA WINTERS! YOU HAD BETTER TELL ME THIS INSTANT!
Elsa Winters - Okay, okay. Yeesh, I am planning on it, but I'm a little nervous...
Kayleigh Olsen - Don't be girl! Right, I have to go and visit Lizzie. I'll talk to you soon
Elsa Winters - Bye!
I'm glad I got to talk to Kayleigh again! It's been so damn long. Maybe I will stay in Norway for a week to see Lizzie and Kayleigh a bit more? I just might! Knock. Knock. Please don't tell me that's Michelle again! I only just got her out of my hair! I looked through the peep hole and it is little Ellie! Ellie is my neighbour, she is the daughter of Ross Evans and Penny Kingsley.
"Hi, Ellie! I haven't seen you in almost three months! How was Ireland?" I greeted.
Ellie has a little sad look on her face. I invited her in and give her some chocolate chip cookies, her favourite. Oddly, she doesn't take a glance at them.
"What's wrong, Ellie? It's not like you to not touch chocolate chip cookies..." I said concerned.
She suddenly bursts out into tears and hugged me tightly. It made her flinch for a small second, because I hugged her back and rocked her. Something must of happened whilst they were in Ireland - my neighbours went away to the UK to visit their relatives. They have some in Wales, England and Scotland. They were visiting relatives first then going to Ireland for their holiday.
"Daddy...Daddy has another daughter!" She wailed.
I sat there in shock. This is why I don't usually put my trust men! They go behind your back...poor Ellie, gosh I can't imagine how Penny must be coping with everything! Penny was exactly like me once, we both didn't like the thought of being with a guy, because of their commitment issues and stuff. Ellie was now asleep as I cradled her in my arms. I couldn't help, but smile. She is such an adorable, smart, innocent and gorgeous little child. It made me think, do I want a child of my own one day? I have the money, a suitable home, healthy mental state and love to provide. Then I could prove people wrong, I can look after a child! People think I'm against relationships, marriage, babies and love. Really, I'm not. I'm just scared...scared to love and get broken into pieces.
"Maybe one day..." I whispered as my mind wonders to daydream land.
