Chapter 31
<<<ELSA'S POV>>>
My nervousness was getting the better of me, was it or wasn't that dream real...? Oh my god, is it going to become a reality?! Good god, I hope not! I don't want that. Although, I must say we were strangely getting along very well...
"Elsa, are you there? Hello!" Kayleigh called as she waved her hand in my face.
"What?" I asked, blinking repeatedly.
"You zoned out, you have been acting weirdly all morning!" Kayleigh commented.
"I'm fine." I smiled.
She stared at me then nodded. Kayleigh took the keys out the car, wait we are here?! My eyes widened and turned my head to the left looking out the passenger window. We are here...I took a deep breath.
"Are you okay, Els? You seem more nervous than me and this is my interview!" Kayleigh laughed.
I laughed nervously and exited the car. We were coming up to the hotel, my knees began to buckle. What on Earth is wrong with me?! We entered and the receptionist sat there. I pity her - she's wearing a short skirt, a blouse that is purposely under buttoned to show cleavage, matte high heels and her face is plastered with make-up.
"Can I help you?" She asked rudely.
Gosh, I want to slap her! Don't talk to my friend that way, I was about to open my mouth and scold her for being disrespectful, but Kayleigh beat me to it.
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't speak to me in such manner. I'm here for my interview with Mr. Frost." Kayleigh scowled.
I smiled. Never will she change! I remember so vividly how she knocked Maria Simpson's tooth out, before she took the mick out of Kayleigh's braces. People started taking the mick out of Maria's tooth being knocked out after that and nobody ever dared to mess with little Kayleigh here again...expect for me!
"Whatever, I'll be back." She said rolling her eyes walking down the corridor.
"The nerve of that little b--" I cut her off.
"Kayleigh, keep calm and ignore her. She's the one sitting at a desk all day with probably a minimum wage paycheck." I said rolling my eyes.
A voice was heard. It was him, Jack Frost.
"I'll have you know I pay all my workers a very high salary." He said coldly.
I glared as I turned to him. Here's the world's number one, arrogant jerk. I scowled and he took Kayleigh through. I went outside and jumped back into the car. I played on Kayleigh's phone. She wanted me to hold it through the interview. Kayleigh came back looking depressed than ever. Oh no, what's happened? I got out the car and ran to her, engulfing her in a big hug.
"Kayleigh, what's wrong?!" I asked worried.
"I-I didn't get it!" She cried.
My heart broke, she was so excited for this! I could feel my blood boil. I'm going to sort this guy out! He needs to be put in his place and he needs a huge ego decrease.
"Wait here." I said.
"Wait, Elsa! Don't do anything!" Kayleigh exclaimed.
I ran back to the building before she could stop me. I barged past the slutty receptionist, not giving a care. I went through the same doors as Kayleigh and the jerk went through before.
"H-Hey, you can't go through there!" She exclaimed.
I made my way to huge oak doors. I let myself in and he had his back turned looking out the window.
"You don't have an arranged meeting with me." He replied.
"Well, now I do." I growled.
He turned to me. His ocean blue eyes piercing me spectating me. The receptionist then came in panting.
"I-I tried to keep her back!" She panted.
"Go back to your job." He said.
"But--" He cut her off.
"Now, Kristine!" He shouted.
Tears formed in her eyes and she ran back to her desk, I can presume. She had closed the door behind her and I turned back to him. We were having a competition of staring each other down.
"What do you want? I'm a very busy man--" I cut him off.
"Cut the crap with your petty little CEO stuff. You better tell me now why you didn't hire my friend!" I hissed.
I raised his brow. He came around the desk and slouched back. The nerves of him! I ought to give him a slap.
"Ah, so that's why you're so worked up?" He chuckled.
What's he laughing at? I may not be as powerful as him, but I can do many things and destroy him for hurting my friend!
"What's so funny?" I growled.
"Just you storming into my office throwing demands," He laughed as he shook his head with a slight smirk on his face.
I walked up to him and pulled his collar. I could see shock in his eyes, but only for a slight second.
"Listen here, I know what you people are like. Unless you want me to bruise your jaw again, I suggest you tell me why you didn't hire her!" I hissed.
His eyes widened. Oh well, I got the enjoyment of socking this jerk in the jaw!
"So you were the woman that punched me in the jaw at the club!" He exclaimed.
I glared, he slightly glared back and then he ruffled his hair. What a major f-boy, I'm not some girl you can just woo.
"I'm waiting for an answer, Frost." I hissed.
I removed my hands slowly and glaring right into his soul. He knew that I was meaning business. He dusted himself off.
"I'll answer, if..." He said.
"If what?" I replied.
"You answer a few questions and go on a date with me," He smirked.
I near enough choked on my saliva. Go on a date with him?! Then, my eyes widened in shock. My dream...oh, god. It's reality!
"Why would I go on a date with someone like you?" I scowled.
"Someone like me?!" He replied aggressively.
"Yeah! An arrogant jerk! A f-boy with a big ego!" I insulted.
My anger was uncontrollable at this point, he is going to get kneed if he continues! I'll give that arrogant jerk something to cry about.
"How about this, if you go on this date with me and answer a few questions. I'll give your friend the job." He requested.
"And if I don't?" I replied.
"I'll not hire your friend and I'll ruin her's and your reputation." He whistled.
"You son of a--" He cut me off.
"Language now, Winters. I'll pick you up at eight." He winked saying the last part.
I stormed out of his building. Kayleigh had a very anxious look on her face. She could see the visible anger I was showing.
"Elsa, why did you do that?! What even happened?!" Kayleigh exclaimed.
"I have to go on a date with that stupid billionaire to save our reputations!" I hissed.
"Elsa, you are way too stubborn sometimes..." Kayleigh sighed.
I shrugged and jumped in the car. We got back to the apartment and I already knew what I was picking out. I picked out the selection of clothes and shoes that I wore in my dream.
"Elsa, do you want a sandwich?" Kayleigh called.
"No thanks." I replied.
I styled my hair and did my mascara and lipstick. He had better not be a total jerk on this date or I will murder him. I will actually hire a damn hitman!
"Why are you so dressed up?" Kayleigh asked.
I looked in the mirror to see Kayleigh in the doorway. I sighed, I technically have a lot of power to destroy him too. Only, they'd side with the world's most powerful man and not a caterer. I hate to admit that he has the upper-hand here.
"I have to go on this stupid date, remember?" I sighed.
"That's tonight?! Damn, you got yourself into some trouble and over me? Come on, Elsa..." She sighed face-palming.
"If I do this, you get the job that you were so happy about and I save both our reputations." I replied.
"What? You didn't say that I would get the job beforehand!" She exclaimed.
I face-palmed, well I just ruined the surprise. She stared at me in shock and happiness, I would sacrifice everything for those closest to me. They all should get the chance to be happy whether it be a relationship, job, family, recovery or gifts.
"Kayleigh, I'm doing this for you. I know you wanted this job so badly," I replied.
"Yes, I know...but you are going on a date with Jack Frost! Do you know how much gossip this will fire up?" She said shaking her head.
I hadn't really thought about the gossip. I was doing this for my friend, she so desperately wanted this. I simply want to give her the thing that will make her happy.
"I don't care about the gossip. It's one date, Kayleigh. That gossip will blow over within a couple months," I shrugged.
She sat on my head and looked at me pitifully, "Elsa, he is the world's most powerful, richest CEO! This won't just blow over in a couple months, this will go on and on for God knows how long!" She pointed out.
Then, I thought to myself. People would always bother me, his fangirls would start fights, my friends won't stop talking about it, my family...well, my family is different. Anna and Mum would be happy and in shock. Papa? He'd probably just use me to get a partnership with Frost. Not happening, it's a one time thing that'll never ever happen again.
"Earth to Elsa?" Kayleigh yelled.
I held my ear in pain. There was a knock on the apartment door. Kayleigh got up and left the room. I put my earrings in and grabbed my bag, dusting myself off.
"Elsa! It's for you!" Kayleigh called.
Huh? The time is five to eight, he's early. Shocker, you'd think he'd be late. A lot of businessmen usually turn up late and say that it's 'fashionable'. I walked out of my room and went to the front door, he stands there wearing a tuxedo.
"You're early," I said blankly.
"Well, as a businessman I have to go places early. It boosts my reputation as a businessman." He replied, dusting himself off.
I rolled my eyes. He caught me and raised his brow with a slight unimpressed expression on his face.
"Come on, let's go to the limo." He said.
We walked out and Kayleigh mouthed good luck. Kayleigh, there isn't such thing as good luck going on a date with this jerk! We exited the apartment building and got into the limo.
"Okay, there are a few rules." He said strictly.
I raised my brow. On a date and there are rules? Wow, talk about organised. Jerk, these rules had better be reasonable!
"Rule number one, take the date seriously." He said giving me a stern look.
Really? Of all rules? I was just going to stare at my finger nails and not talk to him or even acknowledge him...damn it!
"Fine." I said through gritted teeth.
"Second, don't ask anything about my personal life." He said.
"Fine by me and don't ask about mine," I hissed.
"Rule three, don't try and ditch me." He instructed.
I groaned. Really? That was another thing I was going to do when I was going to the bathroom!
"Fine. Anything else, bossy?" I said rolling my eyes.
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't insult me, Winters." He said.
"I'd appreciate if you hadn't blackmailed me into going on this date with you, Frost." I said, making sure I put a lot of hatred into his name.
He just stared at me then looked out the window. The driver was in a bit of shock at my attitude towards the jerk and continued to focus on his driving.
"Sir, we are here." The driver said.
We are outside a five star restaurant. Frost nodded to his driver and got out. Wow, he's not even going to thank his own driver? Where are his manners?!
"Thank you for the ride." I smiled.
The driver looked at me and smiled widely. It's like he has never heard a thank you from his career as Frost's personal driver! I got myself out the limo and dusted myself off. The driver left.
"Come on, I booked the restaurant for the evening." He said nonchalant.
I stood there in shock. He bought the entire restaurant for this petty, meaningless date? Well, he just wasted some cash for no apparent reason.
"Coming?" He said.
There were flashes and I sighed. Paparazzi. Great, just great. Now, this is going to be on the news! Imagine everything now! Elsa Winters is dating Jack Frost! Like I'd date him! I despise people like him.
"That's Elsa Winters!"
"Oh my, she's on a date with Jack Frost!"
"This is going to get me big bucks!"
I quickly made my way inside and sighed. The billionaire had security remove paparazzi trying to enter the restaurant. I sighed and shook my head in aggravation.
"Are you coming to sit?" He asked.
"Let's get this over with..." I muttered.
We sat at the table and we both started to read the menu. Hmm...maybe I'll go with the classical Italian, spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread and red wine.
"Good evening, sir. I'm Ross, I'll be your waiter tonight." The waiter said.
I eyed Frost over my menu. He stared at his menu, before just saying his order. Not even a glance at the waiter? He needs a lesson on manners!
"And for the lady?" The waiter, Ross asked.
I closed my menu and actually made eye contact with the waiter. He was in shock, but then went back to remaining to composure.
"Hello, Ross. I'll have the spaghetti bolognese with a side of garlic bread and red wine," I smiled.
"I'll bring that through shortly." The waiter smiled.
He took our menus and went into the kitchen. There was a silence for me - this is very awkward. Ross came out with the wine and left. I smiled and the billionaire expression caught my eye. He looked mad and glared at the waiter as he left.
"Is there a problem?" I questioned.
He suddenly looked at me with an emotionless face. I raised my brow, what was with his expression? Why was he angry with Ross? What did Ross do to him?
"Not one," He said through gritted teeth.
"Really, well saying that through gritted teeth says something else." I said rolling my eyes.
"Don't push me, Winters!" He snapped.
I stared at him and shook my head. I took a sip of wine and walked away from the table. I could see fire in his eyes.
"I do believe a rule was don't ditch me," He said smirking.
"Oh take a chill, f-boy! I'm going to the bathroom." I said coldly.
There was another emotion on his face. I couldn't believe it, he was affected by my words? Well, my words are true. I walked into the bathroom and sighed. I stared at my reflection and began to cry.
"Tadashi, if only you were here...I wouldn't have to be on this stupid date. I love you not anyone else," I choked.
Suddenly, the door to the ladies restroom opened and I faked a smile and turned around. Luckily, I'm wearing waterproof mascara.
"Are you alright, miss?" One of the women workers asked.
"I'm fine," I said faking smiled.
I walked out and went back to the table. The billionaire looked hurt, but I wonder why? His emotions were visible and he was trying his best to hide them. I didn't ask if he was okay, I didn't want it to be awkward. I don't know him, nor do I like him. I took a sip of wine, I didn't expect him to say the next sentence.
"What was Tadashi Hamada to you?" He questioned.
I choked on my wine. Tears were already down my face before I could keep them back. I wiped my tears away and looked at my lap.
"That's none of your business and something I do not wish to discuss," I whispered.
His eyes were on me and I could feel them. He sat there, not moving or anything just stating at me - I could tell. The waiter come out with our food and I thanked him. The billionaire was once again glaring at the waiter. He walked away back to the kitchen.
"Would you stop glaring at the waiter?" I said annoyed.
I looked at me with a look that said way too much. I know noticed the look, it's jealousy. What?
"I will, when you stop being so weird." He replied.
"Weird? How am I being weird?" I questioned rolling my eyes.
"Flirting with the waiter, just stop it Tooth!" He exclaimed.
"Tooth?" I questioned.
His eyes widened in shock and he left the table. He went to the bathroom and I ate my meal. After thirty minutes, he still wasn't back. I called the waiter Ross to go and check on the jerk. He seemed upset and I can't exactly just walk into the men's room. When he come back what did expect was the waiter to come back and say the following.
"He's not there, miss. I think he may have left."
My dream was really a reality after all.
