Kai stared at the woman in frustration. Her eyes, her voice. She was so familiar. Her mere presence was somehow so, so, so warm and safe. He couldn't place it though. Didn't help that she hid behind a hood that hung low over her face, concealing it in shadows. He stared at her, wondering who she was as she stared at him with eyes of recognition, but said nothing.

"Uh, oh..." Jay let out as the door opened and a guard came in just as they got the strange woman out of her cage. The man immediately called for his buddies as the ninja got ready to fight. "Oh, come on!" Cole said as he groaned. "When I'm cramping?" He added and Jay looked to him oddly. "What? I had a little to much chocolate today, okay?" Cole said and Jay shook his head.

"How can anyone have to much chocolate?" Lloyd asked, causing Kai to grin and pat his shoulder. "Only you, Lloyd." He said with a chuckle and Lloyd looked to him with a blush. "I... Uh... Heh... Yeah." Lloyd stuttered and Kai quirked a brow. "Something wrong?" Kai asked him as The mercenaries started charging. "It's nothing." Lloyd said before running into the fight. Kai looked on at the green colored male before sighing and looking to the woman. "Stay behind me." He said as he got into a fighting stance and she quietly nodded.

The mercenaries started to overwhelm the ninja with their numbers and the woman looked to Kai. "Use the sword." She said and he looked to her. "Why? All it does is shoot out some odd fire that frosts things over. It's basically just a flashy and downgraded version of Zane's ice powers." He said and she chuckled. "I'll give you a little boost." She said and put a hand on his chest, causing an ice cold sensation to run through his body and a spark of power to emerge. His eyes glowed indigo and the sword lit up in flames as he felt the new power flow throughout his body. He looked at his hands then to the sword. "What... Is this?" He asked. "I'll explain later. For now, fight." She said and he nodded.

Kai then turned to the fight and used spinjitzu as he charged in and a layer of frost covered the room as it felt like all the heat was disappearing, being sucked away, and he released a massive wave of indigo colored flame that froze the mercenaries.

"Woah! What was that?!" Jay exclaimed as the others looked to Kai in shock. "I... I don't know, but let's get out of here before they thaw out." He answered and Lloyd nodded. "Let's go." He said and they made their way out.

Later....

When they made it back to the monastery, the woman looked to Wu. "Ah, Wu." She said in a tone that carried with it a sense of disdain. Wu looked to her curiously. "Do I know you?" He asked and she chuckled. "We've met before, but it was long ago." She said as Kai walked to her. "That... Thing... You did to me. What did you do?" He asked and she smiled at him. "I unlocked a hidden power within you." She explained. "What?" He said and she simply grinned.

"I'm sorry, but we need to know. What were you doing with the sword and who are you?" Misako asked and the woman looked to her. "I've been protecting the sword of cold fire for years now. I am it's original master after all." She said and both Wu and Misako gasped. "Eris?" Misako asked and the woman smiled.

"Eris? That was... My....my..." Kai said in surprise and the woman removed her hood to reveal pale blonde hair with a small patch of her bangs dyed indigo. "Hello, my son." She said as she looked to Kai with a loving smile. "Mom?" Kai said as tears pricked his eyes. Eris wiped a tear way that escaped his eyes and pets his hair. "Yes. I'm here. I'm sorry had to leave you, but it wasn't safe to stay with you and Kyle anymore. My presence was putting both of you in danger." She said and he simply hugged her.

The two hugged as Wu stood in shock. "Eris? You... you're... How?" He said as Misako got in a fighting stance. "Kai, step back." She said and the two pulled apart. "Why would I back away from my mother?" Kai asked in anger and Wu looked at him sympatheticly. "Because Eris served the Silver Woman as the elemental master of cold fire." He said and Kai looked to his mother. "A misunderstanding." Eris said then looked to Wu. "I am here to help, Wu. Me and the others were manipulated. We never wanted all that to happen." She said to him earnestly. "Let me help you." She pleaded. "I'm sorry, but we can't trust you Eris. Your crimes were to great." Misako said.

Eris looked to Misako with anger. "Says the woman who married the dark lord Garmadon." She countered and Misako narrowee her gaze. "Kai, step away from Eris." Wu said as he got ready to strike and Kai stood between them and Eris. "Kai? What are you doing?" Cole asked and Kai got in a protective stance. "Simple. I trust my mother." Kai answered as he glared at his sensei, he even held the sword, ready to defend Eris by any means.

"Kai." Misako said in warning. "What? Something wrong with a child defending their parent? My mom just said she was here to help. She even brought us the silver sword of her own accord." He said as Nya stepped forward. "What I don't understand is how she's your mother. Our mom is Maya." She said and Kai looked to her. "Nya... I'm not your brother." He said and she stepped back. "Wh-what?" She asked as Kai sighed. "Ray had a marriage before he married Maya and had you. With that wife he had a son, Kyle." Kai explained as Nya listened, her blood running cold in shock. "Kyle is your elder half brother, and my father." Kai finished explaining.

Nya sat on the steps as Eris looked to her in concern before turning her attention back to Wu. Kai wanted to go to his aunt and comfort her, but right now his mother's safety was his priority.

"Look, Kai... Mother or not, we can't just simply trust her." Misako said and Kai glared at her. "Excuse me? Trusting Garmadon back when he was still under the effects of the Great Devourer's venom was a good idea, but trusting my mother when when she shows up with one of the silver weapons for us is a bad one? She hasn't even attacked us once! Whatever happened to second chances?" Kai ranted and Eris put a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, really. Getting the sword in your hands was my main priority now that the seals been broken." She explained and he looked to her worriedly.

"What seal?" Misako said and Eris looked to her emotionlessly. "I'm sorry, but apparently you lot can't trust me, so why would I waste my breath?" She said then turned to the entrance of the monastery. "I'll be on my way then. I have a husband to track down." She said and Kai put a hand on her shoulder. "Mom, wait." He said and she looked to him.

Wu and Misako shared a look before Miskao sighed. "Fine, but if she pulls anything, it's on your head Kai."
