In a world full of changes, kindness has been one of the only constants. Ranging from wars to starvation and epidemics to droughts, kindness has always found a way to spread and overcome them all. While there have always been bad people, there are always people spreading kindness, love and hopefulness. It has always been the good against the bad, and right against wrong.

Kindness does have various meanings though. It can be as simple as sharing a crayon to a friend in the classroom, but as difficult as sharing food to a stranger during a drought.

Acts of kindness are what keep humanity intact. It's often what gets people through the most difficult of times. Taking an example of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, many people suffered, many people lost their jobs, and many people starved, but acts of kindness haven't stopped amidst this chaos. A company, which also happens to be the company my father works in, took the initiative of distributing grains to thousands of people in villages during the lockdown. Through this simple act of kindness, thousands of people found fulfilment again.

Aesop has rightly said, "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." The meaning behind this is simple yet very meaningful. It means, that kindness has no boundaries, it doesn't care about big or small, it just leads to welfare. The kindness we give is never wasted and is a choice that we make, which creates a ripple like affect. Once I'd been travelling in a car, and saw an old aged man. He had been abandoned by his kids and wore nice enough clothes, but alas was too old to get a job by himself. We gave him some money, and his reaction was absolutely priceless. He saluted us with one of the biggest smiles on his face, and gave blessings to my mother, brother and I. This small act of kindness on our part affected him so deeply and left an imprint in my heart.

One thing about kindness, is that we will never regret it. We will never regret helping, spreading love and being kind to someone. After all, Kindness is a choice that has no fee. It leaves a trail of optimism, hopefulness  and fulfilment and has a positive impact on both the person spreading kindness, and the person receiving it.

But, an important thing to understand, is that kindness isn't only limited towards humans. It can be towards our environment and all the wonderful creatures living in it as well. Humans are just as good at destroying as they are at developing. In recent years, we have proof of this destruction. Animals are getting endangered and our environment has been degrading to an extent of destroying earth.

As humans it is our duty to spread kindness to our surroundings. It gives us so much and we do absolutely nothing in return.
