Thank You, Reader!
Thank you so much for reading Legacies!
This story took about nine months to complete, and it means the world to me that you made it all the way to the end.
If you enjoyed it, please consider leaving a comment and a vote. Both truly help and are greatly appreciated. And if you know someone who loves Shrek, fantasy adventures, or stories about friendship and second chances, please share it with them!
Be sure to check out my other fanfics as well. I'm always working on something new and am always open to ideas, suggestions, and feedback.
Do you think Legacies deserves a sequel? Be sure to vote below!
A special thank-you goes out to my family and friends who encouraged me, supported me, and eagerly waited to edit each new chapter, and for listening to me talk about the Shrek franchise over, and over, and over again. If you're one of those people reading this now—hi! :)
And because you made it this far, please enjoy this special after-credits bonus scene, and I'll see you next time...

T removed her cloak and handed it to the guard. Once he received it, he nodded to another guard stationed at the gate.
"You have one hour," the gate guard said before ushering her inside.
T stepped through the iron gate, her heart jumping at the sound of it slamming shut behind her.
The visitation hall was crowded. Prisoners sat across from parents, spouses, siblings, friends, and children. Quiet conversations filled the room.
She spotted the woman she had come to see almost immediately.
Her stomach flipped and her mouth went dry. Every opening line she had rehearsed on the journey over suddenly rushed through her head at once.
The prisoner sat alone at a small wooden table near the window. Her short, blonde hair suited her. Her chin rested in her hand as she gazed out at the blue morning sky.
How long has she been waiting here? What am I taking about, she's been waiting for 14 years! Is she nervous too?
T took a steadying breath and crossed the room.
The prisoner looked up at the sound of approaching footsteps.
T sat down across from her.
In an instant, every fear, every doubt, every carefully rehearsed sentence vanished as their eyes met.
The woman smiled softly.
Tears immediately filled T's eyes as the perfect words came to her. "Hi, Mom."
