Danny resented every second of this, he refused to leave his room even when he heard cars pull up. He watched Richard and Artemis leave one and Barbara left the other alone, he could hear the others downstairs. There wasn't much that they had to do to get ready but they apparently decided to do it in the loudest way possible.

Toxin eventually spoke, 'You will have to leave eventually.'

"Yeah but I'm going to push it off as long as possible."

'You are incredibly stubborn, if they say anything even remotely rude to you I can bite their heads off.'

"Okay that does make me feel a little better, but I'd rather not have anyone die if we can help it."

'Then maybe I will scare them, either way hopefully this is not entirely unbearable.'

"If they don't make it unbearable other people will, alright I'm leaving but if I decide to knock some heads don't be surprised."

'I will not be, chances are I will even help you.'

Danny couldn't help but laugh a little, then he sighed and got up, he went downstairs as he wished he hadn't agreed to this. Meanwhile, Barbara, Artemis, and Richard had been at the foster home for almost an hour and they were waiting for Danny. They didn't want to try and make him leave his room but they might have to soon, then his door opened and closed.

They all walked into the hallway and he looked annoyed, "Anyone says a fucking word and I will end you."

None of them said anything, Richard might have if he weren't staring at Danny, he couldn't speak if he wanted to. His suit was all black, the suit vest was blue with designes that almost reminded him of something. The blue matched his eyes perfectly, the tie was blue too with similar designs, it was simple but to Richard is was perfect.

The others decided to get the last of their things together but Richard was still staring at him, Danny looked at him, "What?"

Richard looked away, "Nothing, you just, you look good."

Danny was silent, he looked at Richard's suit, black and red, he couldn't say he didn't expect that. There was a rose pinned to his jacket and it was white, Richard soon snapped out of it and walked up to Danny and pinned something to his jacket, a similar white rose. Richard gave him an apologetic smile, "The others really wanted to do it, you can take it off later if you want."

Danny looked irritated again, "I fucking hate prom, you do realize a flower died for this stupid thing."

"That is morbid, if it makes you feel better I'll plant some roses later and they won't get their flowers cut off."

Danny shrugged, "I wouldn't hate you for it."

"Does that mean you hate me now?"

"You would not be conscious right now if that were the case."

Richard wanted to say something but decided against it and just grabbed Danny's hand to pull him into the living room. The others were grabbing shoes, bags, or wallets before they left, Mary and John were dressed up since they were chaperoning the dance. Not enough teachers wanted to do it and they'd apparently volunteered much to Danny's growing annoyance.

When the others were ready John spoke, "Alright, everyone in the car, and make sure you have everything."

No one argued, after making sure they had everything they got in the car and John started driving to the school. On the way Toxin spoke, 'At least it hasn't been that bad so far.'

Danny had to agree, Mary hadn't tried to take pictures of him and the others seemed to be trying to leave him alone. But they had yet to get to the school, and Danny had the strangest feeling that something was going to happen. When John parked they all got out and Danny was already starting to hate being in the suit.

He couldn't move as easily in it and he didn't like dressing like this anyway, to him this was torture. When they got inside there were already a lot of people there, the room was fairly dark and there werebrightly colored lights flashing and moving around. There were balloons everywhere, lights hanging from the ceiling, and many other decorations.

The theme had been fairy tail which explained the fairy lights and glitter, along with all the flowers and the background and props for taking pictures. The first thing Danny did was find a table to sit at where the music wasn't as loud, even without Toxin loud sounds weren't fun for him. The others soon followed him and sat down at the table, the people at the closest tables moved to ones farther away.

Artemis spoke, "I guess we don't have to worry about being crowded."

Isabella smiled, "And we can just enjoy ourselves."

They all glanced at Danny who already looked angry, "This is fucking stupid."

Richard spoke, "Let's go get you some food."

He grabbed Danny's hand and pulled him to the large table full of food, Danny didn't look happy at all and Richard grabbed him food. He wasn't completely sure what Danny liked so he just grabbed as much as he could without it becoming a mountain of food. Richard looked at Danny, "Are you okay?"

"Take a look at my face and see if you can figure it out."

Richard could tell from his tone of voice alone that he was annoyed, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing except for the fact that I was right and I'm already getting a headache from the music and these god damn lights."

"Okay yeah that isn't fun, I didn't think it would be like this usually it's fairly tame but this year they seemed to decide to go all out."

"So I noticed."

Richard handed him the plate of food, "You can step outside if you need to."

"As long as no one annoys me to no end I'll be fine, I wouldn't mind having something to punch either."

"You are violent."

Richard led him back to the table and they both sat down, Barbara and Artemis already left to dance so they were gone. Isabella looked between Danny and Richard, the former of which was eating with an annoyed look on his face. Isabella cleared her throat, "Lucas and I are going to go join Barbara and Artemis."

She pulled Lucas to his feet and dragged him away before he could say anything and Danny raised an eyebrow slightly, "Do I even want to know?"

Richard looked incredibly confused, "I don't think they'd tell us no matter how many times we asked."

"You underestimate my skills in getting information."

Richard couldn't help but laugh a little at that, Danny went back to eating and the two sat there for a minute. Danny broke the silence, "You know you can join the others."

"I don't want to leave you alone."

Toxin spoke, 'If only he knew that you are not alone.'

Danny groaned, "I don't know whether you're a good friend or just annoying."

Richard paused, hell he looked like he completely froze, "Did you just call me a friend?"

Danny paused, "You say anything and I will make you regret it."

"I wasn't, I just, I wasn't expecting it, I can't say I'm upset about it though."

"That's saying something, stop."

Richard smiled a little, then Barbara and Artemis came back and Artemis spoke, "We're going to take a picture."

Danny leaned back in his seat, "Then go take your picture."

Barbara smiled, "We're not the only ones taking it."

The two pulled Richard and Danny up and started pulling them in the direction of the photographer. Danny resisted and even with both of the girls trying they couldn't move him, they soon let go and Richard looked at him. "I won't try to make you take one with us but if you do I promise no one but us will see it."

"I don't care."

Artemis spoke, "You can be the one to keep the picture, you could even burn it if you want to."

Danny crossed his arms, "One picture, one, and if you bother me about anything again I'm going to start throwing punches."

The three of them looked fine with that, they walked over to the photographer where Isabella and Lucas were already waiting. They all got in front of the camera and Danny was the only one not smiling, he wouldn't look at the camera and he was very clearly irritated. The photographer seemed to decide not to question it and just took the picture, as soon as he did Danny went back to sitting at the table.

The others waited for the picture to turn out and when they got it they sat joined him at the table. Artemis handed him the picture, "I'm pretty sure you're going to burn it but I said you could have it so take it."

Danny looked at the picture, he could see Toxin on his hand, he was just a spiderweb like pattern on his hand but he was there. Danny put it in the inside pocket of his jacket, "I'll decide what to do with it later."

Toxin spoke, 'Liar, you are going to keep it.'

Danny wanted to argue but he couldn't, there were people around and Toxin was right, Danny wished he wasn't. The others soon left to keep dancing, Richard stayed with him and they sat there in silence for several minutes. Danny glanced at Richard and he noticed him staring at the others who were dancing and clearly having fun.

Danny groaned, "I'm probably going to regret this." Richard gave him a confused look, "Want to dance?"

Richard now looked shocked, hell it looked like he went catatonic for a few seconds, "Are you serious?"

"One dance, one, and don't so much as mention it again later."

Richard smiled, "I can live with that."

Richard grabbed Danny's hand and pulled him up before taking him to the area everyone was dancing in. Thankfully it was still a darker corner and the music wasn't as loud as it would have been pretty much anywhere else. Richard took the lead but waited a few seconds in case Danny wasn't okay with it, when Danny didn't protest he started dancing with him.

Danny spoke, "I'm serious if you tell anyone about this I will end you."

Richard smiled, "I won't, besides this is too nice to ruin."

Danny gave him a strange look, "Did you hit your head or something, how the hell is this nice?"

Richard looked away for a second, then took a deep breath, "Honestly, you might hate me for saying this but I like you, a lot. And I don't mean as a friend I mean I want to hold your hand and take you on a date or just spend time with you. What I'm trying to say is-."

Danny cut him off by doing something that surprised both him and Richard, he kissed him, and when he let go Richard was stunned into silence. "I really wish I could hate you right now, hell I've wished I could hate you for the past week and a half. I've been trying to hate all of you but I can't and this is your fault, and then you had to do this shit."

Richard looked a little confused, "Um, I'm sorry?"

"No, shut up, in six years you're the first person that got me to give a shit about them and everything went downhill from there. And when I started to like you it just pissed me off because I knew I shouldn't and no matter what I did you wouldn't leave." Danny groaned, "Fuck."

Richard blinked, "Wait, did you say you like me?"

"Yes I fucking did." He sighed, "I need to tell you something."

Richard looked confused, "What is it?"

"I-."

He was cut off when the windows shattered and a number of guys with guns came through the windows. People immeidately ran out of the gym, the men started firing and Danny pulled Richard toward a table. He pulled him down and they slid under it, then Danny kicked it so it was on it's side and they used it as cover.

Richard looked at him, "We need to get out of here."

"Listen, what I was going to tell you."

"Is not really the time?"

"It's definitely the time."

Toxin spoke, 'You can't be serious.'

"Oh I am, you with me?"

'Always.'

Richard looked confused, "What are you talking about?"

"Look, if you have questions when this is over I'll answer them, and if you never want to speak to me again I won't blame you." Richard looked even more confused, "Let's do this."

Toxin took over and Richard's eyes widened in shock, Toxin glanced at him before jumping out of their cover. He ran at the men and started fighting them, Richard watched from his cover and Toxin growled when a few of the men shot him. The bullets didn't seem to do anything other then piss him off and he ran at them, then Danny took over.

Richard watched as the familiar boy with white hair and green eyes punched one of the men and kicked another in the chest. Toxin took over again and extended his arm to knock a few men down, Toxin growled and they kept fighting. Richard watched as they took all of the men down, they did it with ease and it was almost scary how easy it was.

When Toxin gave Danny control again he had his usually black hair and blue eyes, Richard left his cover and Danny walked over. "Now before you freak out-."

Richard cut him off by kissing him, after a few seconds he pulled away, "I am so sorry."

"Why, because you and your team have been trying to hunt us down because you think we killed people?"

Richard was shocked, "How did you?"

"Come on you think a mask is going to stop me from recognizing you, or Artemis and Barbara?"

"You knew the whole time?"

"Good to know that you're caught up, come on the others ran outside."

Danny started walking to the nearest door that led outside and Richard followed, "But how did this even happen, why did you break into that government building?"

"I'll tell you later, right now we need to make sure the others are okay."

Danny walked out the door and Richard quickly followed, it looked like pretty much everyone had run away. The only people that were still there were the people they were with and they were all calling their names. John was the first to spot them and Mary ran over and hugged them, "We were so worried, what happened?"

He let them go and Danny didn't even move, Toxin spoke, 'Are you okay?'

"Nope."

Danny walked a few feet away and they were all a bit concerned, Richard got the feeling that he was talking to his hidden friend. Danny was having an internal argument with himself, one that Toxin decided not to interrupt. Danny was still in the middle of that argument when he heard a gym door slam open and he looked just in time to see a guy point a gun in their direction.

When he saw that it was pointed at Mary, he moved just in time, the gun went off and the others stared in horror. Danny started bleeding and for a split second they were frozen, Danny had shielded Mary from the bullets. Toxin took over Danny's arm and knocked the guy out without Danny taking a single step, then he growled and his eyes clouded over, "Big mistake."

Richard's eyes widened, that wasn't Danny's voice, it was deeper and a bit harsher, like the words were growled out, that was his friend. More of the men showed up and Toxin took over, now the others were shocked, Toxin ran at the men as they tried to shoot him. He grabbed one of the men and threw him at another, one tried throwing a smoke grenade at him and he caught it.

It looked like his skin tore open to reveal a mouth and he caught it and pierced it with his teeth. Many of them took a step back, Toxin ran out of the smoke and Danny took over, he was back to having white hair and green eyes. Barbara and Artemis clearly recognized him but they had a hard time believing anything they were seeing.

The men pointed their guns at him, he smirked, "Take your best shot."

They did, Danny went through the ground and the men looked around, he came back up in the middle of them and punched a guy in the face. All the others could do was stare in shock, a guy tried to shook Danny and he easily dodged and kicked the guy in the face. "Now this is just sad, I thought this was going to be more challenging."

Now the others were confused, they'd known Danny for nearly a month and he hadn't acted like this. He was calm, in fact he almost seemed happy which they'd only caught glimpses of if they saw it at all. The men started shooting at Danny again and Toxin took over, he looked pissed and he took out the men without mercy.

He quickly took five out and it left three, he roared and the men took a step back, he attacked them and knocked them out. Toxin growled and he glanced around at the men, they were all knocked out but he wasn't any less pissed. They hurt his host, they could have actually killed him and knocking them out didn't calm him down.

Danny spoke, 'Buddy, hey, I'm fine.'

That made him take a breath, even though he didn't technically need to, and he gave Danny control again. His black hair and blue eyes were back and After a few seconds John spoke, "Danny, what-."

Danny cut him off, "Car, now."

He walked toward the car without another word and the others glanced at each other before following. Richard sat next to Danny, he wanted to say something but there was nothing he could say that would help or change anything. So he just held Danny's hand, he kept his grip loose in case Danny wanted to take his hand away, he was surprised and relieved when he didn't.

John started driving back to the foster home, Danny and Toxin knew this was going to be one hell of a conversation.
