Letting go.

Why does everyone tell me to let you go?
What if i can't?

I can't force my memory
To remember something
Or forget it.

It stores what's important
And hold on to what i may need.

I just cannot let you go.

I can't tell you why.
I can't even tell you how I'm managing to deal with it.

My mind is holding on to you.
Everything attached to you.

Now you tell me
How can i let you go
When my mind itself is refusing to do so.
