"Lightkit, my beautiful rays of sunshine! It's your apprentice ceremony today!"

Snapping to alert, Lightkit squealed in delight, bouncing to the Highledge. 

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highledge for a Clan Meeting!" Birchstar yowled.

Bramblekit, her brother padded after her, smirking.

Mind whirling, her ears didn't perk up until the name Lightpaw. When the leader rambled on more, she let her mind drift off again.

Suddenly, the din stopped.

"Um, who's my mentor?" Lightpaw whispered to Bramblekit.

Rolling his eyes, he replied, "Flameblaze."

She nodded and padded to Flameblaze, touching his nose.

Smiling lightly, he meowed, "I'll teach you the territory!"

Bounding out the camp, Lightpaw raced after him.
