author's note
Hi, friends!
Oh, how I still hate saying goodbye.
Thank you for joining me for this ride with my favourite bozos, I hope you enjoyed the fan-favourite's point of view.
There were a couple things I wanted to tackle with Christmas (Jordin's Version).
Usually we see people hating their family in the Hallmark movies, but the Meadowlarks, while they've had their struggles, will always find each other in the end. The extended Meadowlarks are no extension. So, while I definitely had a few tropes in here that do fit the bill for Hallmark, I hope that you could see I was trying to also go against it. There is an undeniable and unconditional love that will never cease.
And, ah, the pregnancy Christmas duo. Well. I think if you've read Fly With Me or her sister, Adrenaline, you'd know very well where each member of the bozo squad sits in their views. It was important to me to show, as chaotic as it was, that while Everleigh changed her mind about marriage, she never changed her mind about not having kids. And there was no ill-fate, no behind the back comments. It just was. Because abortions are not some devil-act; they're exactly what anyone needs them to be.
If I had to pick a song for Roman and Florence, it would probably be 18 by One Direction. I wanted to showcase that as well. Sometimes people fall apart so they can fall back together, even after it's been decades. Thank you for loving their love and all the chaos it took to reconcile it. This journey has been so fun to write for all of you.
To my sad girl libra squad, thank you for dealing with the build up. Thank you for being my first readers. For looking at the Pinterest board. For being there to squeal with me when I needed it most. There is nothing I wouldn't do for you, and this book is an ode to that. Thank you both for existing. To Steph, for letting me use your bozos once again. And to Katie, for writing the book of Florence's heart. You both deserve the world and I simply feel honoured to even be in a slice of it. Hope this wasn't as bad as H*llywood Chr*stmas.
To the ones who stayed for this and gave me comments that made me cry laughing in the BOH at work, you know who you are. Thank you for being here for Roman. For wishing him well and for cheering him on. Thank you for screaming at him when he was being a dumbass, and thank you for unwillingly giving him your shoulders to cry on. You are one of the main reasons this book got done before the year was out. I especially would like to thank the ones who told me I had time to write, and that I shouldn't burn myself out. Those comments meant more to me than any thank you I could write. The best Christmas present I could've given myself was a breather, and you allowed me to do that. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I suppose that's it, folks. Another chaotic Meadowlark Christmas in the books. I hope that you enjoyed, and thank you for checking this out. These characters truly mean the world to me and getting to visit them again was a gift in and of itself.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year. All the best your way.
Hope to see you in the next one,
Jordin
