80th Shade

"What does the
nightfall look like?"
she asked.

Instead of answering,
he just stared at her face,
kissed by the light of the
lilac sky.

Since that day,
he's always asking himself.
Like how everything turned
360° just a glimpse of her.

"Kaunti na lang,
makakaaninag na
ako nang tuluyan,"
she said with glee.

He wanted to be happy also.
But fear crept into his system
when he realized that he was
not yet ready to be known.

And it continued like that.

He already felt he was
falling deeper than ever.

Everyday with her felt
longer like he knew
her by listening to her.

She also knew him
by listening to him too.

Though he noticed that
something was weird in him.

"What does the
nightfall look like?"

"Have you seen a
lilac sky before?"

Even the peach sky
started to question itself.
When did they become lilac?

"The sky is in its
lilac again."

Each day, she received
the same answer.

From...

"Now, I'm starting to
realize that the purple
shade came from the
reddish sun and the
dark blue sky."

To...

"It's beautiful."

Even...

"Have you seen a
lilac sky before?"

Until it reached to the
point that she also wanted
to look at it.

"I wish we could
watch it together,"
he said while
staring at her.

"I can't wait to see
again." She giggled.

"Me too.." he whispered
under his breath.

"But I really can't
wait to see you."

His smile faded as
the following days
become shady.

The hope creeping
began to drown.
And the darkness took
over his world as her
sight came back.

But he was no longer
with her.

"May problema ata
sa mismong sarili ko.."
She bowed down while
remembering everything.

"Walang problema
sa'yo," he emphasized.

"Kung wala, bakit
hindi siya nagpapakita
sa akin?"

Since then he also
questioned himself.

"Ano pa ang
pumipigil sa'yo?"

Looking at her by
his side, he thought that
it's better to move forward.

She's there.

With him.

They're surrounded
by the calm sea.
Seated on a floating
cottage while watching
the sunset.

It was almost perfect.

"I thought of something,"
she said while resting her
head on his shoulder.

"Hmmm?"

"I think he shouldn't have
held my hand that time."

His heart stopped
beating for a bit.

"If I know that what
he started will not end,
I shouldn't have took
my hand from him."

No matter how much
he ran away from his
greatest fear, the more
he was going back from
where he didn't want to be.

And he realized that he
hasn't left the path after all.
