He nodded. "Follow me."

They padded after him, and in a quiet space, he announced. "I'm training in the Dark Forest."

"The Dark Forest!" gasped Leafstem.

"That's forbidden!" yowled Miststream.

He slapped his tail over their mouths, wondering if anyone was listening in on their conversation.

He sighed. "I've been through a lot, okay? You've been through it with me! Join me with Mom and Dad."

"No," they chorused stubbornly.

"Then stay out of my way. I'd rather not have to kill you," he snapped, stalking away.

Leafstem pushed in front of him to block him, but he just pushed her away.

"Please, Littlenose," pleaded Miststream.

He narrowed his eyes angrily. "I'm not asking again. Join me and Mom and Dad in the Dark Forest."

"No," they repeated.

"Then stay out of my way!" he repeated.

He stalked away into the undergrowth.
