Okay, so the idea for this cover has been sitting dormant in my head ever since I started writing my fanfiction "Static" last November in 2016, but every time I tried creating any sort of cover to what I had in mind, the piece just flopped. Because Static is based on the Netflix series Stranger Things, I wanted to create something similar to one of season one's official posters while drawing inspiration from some of my favorite 80's themed cover art for movies, too (such as Star Wars, Blade Runner, Back to the Future, etc).

The main image I drew the most inspiration from, of course, was the one from the show itself, as seen here:

And finally, after 9 months and four/five hours worth of working in Photoshop today, this is one of my final results:

I'm not 100% satisfied with it because I wanted to add more characters and background stuff, but it felt far too cluttered for a cover that just gets sized down anyway, so I prefer this simplified version. I added an old VHS tape texture for ultimate 80's vibes too, aw!

Static is my best work featuring my favorite OC (the loml), so this was definitely worth the hours. If you're interested in reading it at all, you can always find it on my profile! (shameless self plug, always)

A: use this cover for my fic now (and have it kinda ruin my cover theme), or B: wait to use it later (and by later i mean probably never, lmao) and keep my theme intact? ]

( EDIT: I quickly went with A and updated my cover to the new one thanks to your suggestions! I edited a few things beforehand, like changing the font where my author name goes, adding Static's subtitle "Are you receiving me?' at the top, and lowering the glow behind Tom just a little bit. You can see all changes on my profile! )
