Loki's POV

I knew Thor would give up my hiding place. If he didn't, well he would be just as bad as me. Two SHIELD guards flanked me as I walked silently with incredibly strong hand cuffs. I passed room after room, but saw no sign of the Avengers. The guards led me to a white door with a small window. They pushed me in and I fell to the ground. I was surrounded by white. All white. The floor was made of some soft material, as well as the walls and ceiling. I was genuinely confused. Wasn't I supposed to be in that death-trap prison specifically designed for me? I stood and walked around the room. I stuck a finger in the wall and was sucked it. It was made out of foam as Midguardians called it. I heard Fury say through a microphone, "Like it?" I spun around and smiled.

I pondered for a moment and then said, "It is...squishy my one-eyed friend. However did you think of it?"

He said in a plain voice, "Oh don't worry, it didn't take long to come up with it." I smirked and paced around the room. His cold eye watched me like a hawk. I shuddered inwardly. No matter how many times I look at Nicholas Fury, I can't help but feel a bit uneasy when he just stares at me.

I cleared my throat and said, "So how are my dear old friends, the Avengers? Still in contact with them I presume...?"

Fury smiled (actually smiled!) and said, "Oh yeah, we're real close. In fact, we've been doing some recruiting recently."

I raised my eyebrows and said mockingly, "Is that supposed to scare me? Did some idiotic buffoon mortal blast himself with a gamma ray again?"

Fury kept on smiling (which weirded me out) and said, "No, but I think you'll like her." I chuckled at his threat. A girl? What could a girl possibly do to a God like me? I mean there was Natasha Romanov, but she was a different story.

I rolled my eyes and said, "Nicholas Fury, if there is one thing you should know about me above all else is that I do not 'like' anyone. Impressed by some? Rarely. But never like."

Fury smiled again (so strange) and said, "My sources tell me otherwise." My back stiffened and I gulped nervously as I thought, Janis...?

He then informed me, "Press the button if you need to use the little God's room or something..." Then he left without another word. I sunk to my knees and I thought, You win this time, Fury. I sighed and just sat there. Thinking about ruling the world and conquering my enemies and...

Janis

I shook my head, trying to get her graceful figure out if my head. I do not love, no one loves me. I do not love, no one loves me. I tried to chant those words in my mind, but I failed to remove her gaze from it. I leaned against the wall. Maybe I should just never see her again. I mean, I wouldn't sleep very often, but it was worth it. But what was that Midguard saying? Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I felt like hours had passed before I was visited by someone else. I smiled as I saw a woman with blood red hair approach. She gave me a cold stare as I stood to greet her. She pushed the microphone button and said, "Hello Loki."

"Greetings Natasha Romanov!" I said with fake cheer.

She tilted her head to the side and said, "You seem happy."

I looked at her and said, "Well I'm back here. Who wouldn't be happy?"

She rolled her eyes and said, "Why can't you just stay out of trouble?"

I replied, "Why can't you interrogate without someone listening? Hello Clint Barton." I heard him go 'hmph' and my suspicions were confirmed. I smiled mischievously at her and said, "I knew it was love."

She continued on as if I said nothing, "What are you planning?"

I put my hands behind my back and said, "Well I think you know that by now."

"You're avoiding the question."

"Well why would I tell you?"

We stood there, locked in a stare. I could see her calculating and observing me.

She finally said, "You know, I can't help but notice that there's something different about you. Tell me why love is on your mind today?" I clenched my teeth together. Here we go...

"I am merely observing your passion to break the hearts of heroes." I told her with a little venom. She didn't wince once.

She said coldly, "Who is she, Loki?"

I shrugged and said, "Who do you speak of? I know many beautiful women..." But none that could compare to my sweet Jan.

"...But there's one that stands out, isn't there?" She implied. I was starting to get a bit angry.

"No one stands out, but me. I am Loki! There is no girl you speak of! I would never-"

"He's being defensive." I heard Clint say as he cut me off. I was starting to lose it.

"I am not! I would never, ever fall for a mortal. I would never be with her-"

"Oh so there is someone?" Natasha said, finally making me snap. She got me.

"What do you care of my life and it's lovers? It is not like I actually met the girl in person anyway..." I said glumly.

She pressed her lips together and said quietly, "I care because I know her." This grabbed my full attention.

"What?" I whispered. I walked up to the window. "What did you just say?" I said as I stared her straight in the eyes.

She curled her lip and said, "I know her and I don't want her getting hurt." She said a little louder. My mouth was agape as a million thoughts raced through my mind. Janis. My Janis knew Natasha Romanov. How was this possible? It shouldn't be. No, it couldn't be. I hoped it wasn't what I thought it was.

"You're lying..." I mumbled, trying to reassure myself.

She murmured, "Am I?" I looked at her and she looked at me with sad eyes. As if she was pittying me. "Goodbye Loki. C'mon Clint." She turned swiftly and walked steadily with her high heeled boots on. Clint followed after her, not saying anything to me. I closed my eyes and banged my head on the glass. Sometimes, being the villian was hard. All I wanted to do was just lie down and go to sleep. Instead, I sat down and leaned against the floor so no one could see me. I'm sure that they had surveillance, but I hid my face. I didn't want anyone to see my face full of pain. This emotion was so new, so...dreadful. I couldn't stand to feel it anymore so I just fell asleep. I tried to forget and fell asleep.

I woke up and assumed it was night time. There was a bowl of...something that was left on a little shelf on my door, but I wasn't hungry. Far from hungry actually. All I could feel was a sinking feeling in my stomach. Where was Janis now? What are they doing to her? Are they hurting her because of...me? That thought suddenly came to me. Because Janis had contact with me, are they torturing her to get the information out? Oh no. Oh no, no, no...

What have I done?

This feeling inside of me was new. I felt like all of this was my responsibility. And I feel horrible about it.

"Hello." A familiar voice said. I didn't care who it was. I just wanted to be left alone. "Loki?" It called again. It was so familiar. Where have I heard it before? I stood, slowly. I peeked over and saw the last person I expected to see. With her brown wavy hair and matching eyes, she took my breath away...

"Janis..." I whispered. Janis smiled and pressed her hand up against the glass. I pressed mine up against hers and just stared. I drank in her beauty, not being able to get enough. I studied her and then noticed something was strange. She wore a purple and black body suit. Then I saw something that made my insides freeze. I saw a SHEILD emblem right on her chest. This was it. The last nail on the coffin. They had taken Janis away from me as well.

"Loki...this isn't what it looks like! I mean, yes I'm part of SHIELD, but I choose to be here!" She explained to me when she saw my face. I looked at her, but didn't say a word. She continued, "I have powers and I don't know how to use them yet. I thought that you knew..." I felt my blood boil.

"Knew? KNEW?! How would I have known? You lied to me! I...I actually trusted you!!" I screamed at her. I saw tears well up in her eyes.

"No, no! I just, I thought-"

"You thought wrong, my dear! I can't belive I trusted a mortal..." I spat out at her. I felt so hurt. So betrayed. A single tear ran down her cheek.

"But I...I lo-"

"Don't. You. Dare." I said with cold fury. I could feel my heart freeze over. I was done with all this. These mortal games. Trust no one. "Leave me Agent Bakely." I said with all the venom I could muster.

Her face suddenly turned cold and she said, "It's Multi-girl." I saw her eyes change to a fiery red which caught me off guard. Then her eyes turned back and she turned sharply to walk away.

"Janis!" I shouted after her, but I knew she couldn't here. What have I done? I thought. I turned and saw that there was a little camera in the corner. I looked at it and smiled. Then I said, "Is this what you wanted to see? Losing my cool? Fine. But you do not realize Fury that you made a fatal mistake. I promise you that." Then I just sat on the ground with my legs crossed. I closed my eyes and tried to focus. Focus on things that aren't Janis. Or Multi-girl. I don't care. I just have to stop thinking about her. Only one thought came to my mind as I sat there.

I will destroy you Multi-girl.

So, what do you think? A battle of epicness about to unfold? What if the dream that Janis dreads was just a foreshadowing of future events? We shall see in the next chapter... ;)
