After a whole day of school, Miss Gordon had high hopes for the three. Before leaving the gates Hazel set her eyes on the boy she saw earlier. He paused and stayed where he was. He kept looking at her, almost inviting her over. She left the guys to walk home alone by themselves. They weren't pleased. She didn't mind.

They walked together through the forest. It had been a silent trip apart from a hello. When they were deep inside the forest he paused. He turned to look at Hazel. She was confused. Why so silent and mysterious. Then two white-grey ears popped up on his head. A sound of fur directed her attention to his tail. He said his name was Vylad. He told her he was an immortal werewolf and explained about what was different. He said that he sensed her wolf. He showed her how to make her tail and ears appear and disappear. As Hazel did as he showed her, her ears popped up as well as a bushy tail. He stared at the deep scarlet ears and tail. No werewolf was red. She spent her time explaining how she was a hybrid and was in hiding. Everything about him was inviting. Irresistible. That night was the full moon. Once Hazel had settled down in her "room." She stared out of the window at the moon rising. Then out of nowhere a pebble knocked against the window.
