Chapter 8
Solaces Pov
I walked out my door after the discussion with my father. Just standing in front of the door, thinking. I looked down at my hand. I snapped my fingers and a small electrical spark light making me smirk slightly. Something inside of me was telling me not to do what my father told me to do. Something inside of me was telling me to not hurt him and not trust father. Something was telling me to run to him and hug him so tight and close nothing and no one could separate us, but the bigger part of me was telling me to do what father says. He's my father, he knows what's good for me and what's good for me is doing what he says.
I nod and start my walk down the sidewalk. I stare down at my hand as lines of electricity ran across my hand and around my fingers, sometimes creating small shapes and designs. I looked up and stopped dead in my tracks as I spot the one I was looking for. The one I was supposed to get after school. I watch as he walks down the sidewalk with his head down sadly and him kicking a small pebble. My eyes follow down his back to the jacket he's wearing. I gasp under my breath and take a step back when a vivid image over takes my vision and mind.
{Flashback}
"Angels like you shouldn't freeze in the cold." I watched a bright blush spread across his cheeks as he smiled lightly at me. A smile apparent on my lips as I lean in closely to him. Our breaths mixing together in the small space between us. I lean in and out lips meet. I close my eyes and enjoy this savoring moment. His lips so soft and smooth against mine. I smile into the kiss and lean in closer to him. He kisses back with as much love and passion. There was no lust. There was only love.
I pull back and lean my head against his. The kiss was short and sweet. Not deep and lustful. I smile brightly when he opens his eyes. I stare into his beautiful mocha eyes, small specks of purple hidden throughout the different browns. He stared back into my blue ones and smiles. "Seto."
My voice is deep with as much love and passion I can put into the one word. He looks up at me dreamily and hms. "Yes, Brice." I take his hand in mine and link our finger together, rubbing my thumb over the top of his hand. "Will you go out with me? This Friday at seven?" Seto chuckles and leans in close. "Of course I will." He leans in and connects our lips together lightly. Then pulls away quickly with a satisfactory smile on his face as he looks at my dazed smile. He stand up and smiles. "See you tomorrow at school, Brice." I smile as he walks away back towards his house. When he's out of earshot I jump up and fist pump the air triumphantly. "Yes!" I say loudly under my breath. Just enough for me to hear and not make a fool of myself.
{Flashback Over}
A scream rings through the air making me shake my head. What was that? I look up and my eyes widen. A man in a black jump suit and hockey mask runs out of the near by super market. He's running down the opposite side walk. A brown bag banging on his shoulder as he runs. The robber looks back and then something in front of him catches his eye making him run faster. "No..." I mumble out when I notice what he's seen. Seto is walking in the same path as him. Why hasn't he seen the robber yet?! The robber grabs Seto around the shoulders then holds his hand behind his back with the other on his mouth. A muffled scream comes from Seto.
Something in me sparks and I run across the street, not even noticing the cars coming. The cars that come down the road stop instantly when they get a few inches from hitting me making the drivers dazed and confused. The robber drags Seto into an alley way as he struggles. A knife close to his neck.
I close my eyes and breath in deeply, feeling the electricity run through my veins. I open my eyes and imagine myself behind the robber. I blink and I'm behind the robber as he slams Seto into the wall. Seto's eyes are clouded with fear. His deep caramel eyes are not as light as they were yesterday which confuses me. Something in his eyes seems darker than yesterday. What- "You know. Your actually kinda cute. I may keep ya." The robbers voice was deep and sounded almost like he was from a different state. I'm just not sure which one.
My blood starts to boil and my fists clench. Seto shakes his head quickly and stares into the guys eyes. "Let him go." I seethe out. The guy jumps then turns around, holding Seto's back to his chest with the knife pressed to Seto's throat. "Who are you?" The guy asks as Seto's eyes widen in surprise. Seto's eyes get a little lighter. What the hell? I shake my head and glare at the guy. He looks at Seto than me. "Are you this guys boyfriend or something?" Something in me almost makes me want to scream 'YES!' but I shake my head. Seto looks down at the ground with a sad glint in his eyes. Huh?
"Alright, then why don't you let us get going and you can pretend like you never saw this." The robber has a devious smirk on his face and his grip tightens on the knife. Seto looks back up and starts to shake his head quickly. "You're not going anywhere with him." I growl. The robber frowns and looks down at Seto. "Hmm. From what it looks like, this boy is so broken and all your doing is breaking him more and more. He may just be better off..." The knife slowly presses into Seto skin making a thin line of blood. "Dead." A trail travels down his neck and Seto squeezes his eyes shut. I clench my hands together and in a blink of an eye, I have Seto propped up against the wall and the guy on the ground chocking on his own blood with the knife in his throat.
I rush over to Seto and slowly move his head to look up at me. Something in me is begging for Seto to be ok, but the rational part of me is saying "Father said to hurry." Fear, sadness, pain, so many emotions cloud Seto's eyes before he closes them. I look down at the small line on his neck. Luckily all the robber did was break the skin, not hitting any major arteries or anything. I breath out a sigh of relief and slowly bring my hand to his shoulder. He looks up at me and I slowly start to lean forward. The rational part of my mind is screaming "What are you doing?!" but the other part of me. The part of me that's hidden away somewhere is screaming "Just one kiss and everything will go back the same." My lips are so close to his. I can feel his hot breath blowing against my lips. I look up into his coffee browns. The sparks of purple glimmer in the sunlight shinning from the roof tops above the alleyway. I start to lean in closer. Maybe just a peak.
