Part 9
I can't stand the fact that the girl kept asking about the scars on my arm, the ones that ran up my back, the permanent white ones. This- those- had been from the autopsy. Bart hated seeing those, seeing as they brought back the memories of me previously dying, a few years back. They cut me open to make sure I was actually dead. From the back, I didn't know why. But since I was already half dead now....
Acacia. Tugging at my pant leg. It was really irritating, and I held back the urge to kick her away. But I couldn't send her away. And neither could Bart. Besides, Bart likes her. But he kept quiet, not saying a word about the fact I hated the questions about these permanent scars on me.
"Would you please quit that?" I snapped, tensing quickly. "I will not answer where these came from, because you do not- DO NOT- need to know!" My voice rose to a tentative yell, and I unclasped Acacia's hands from my leg. I whipped around and stormed off, and the look of surprise on Bart's face made Acacia frown. But I needed time to think, and I needed a lot of time.

Jay doesn't like me. I always thought she would recognize me. Clearly, I was wrong. Well, okay, maybe she would not. I am from the new future that Bart has sorta created. Oh, Mommy loved me in the future.... But I suppose not now. Daddy did say Mommy was kind of a tense figure when she was younger. But of course, Daddy is as nice now as he was before.
I guess you could say I foolplayed Mommy and Daddy into believing the fact that the couple that died at the table were my parents. But of course, they are not. Hush, can't tell them that though. If I hear that you have.... Mommy taught me a few things I could do to you.
"Acacia?" I heard Daddy whisper, taking my arm gently and pulling me to him. Well, young Daddy.
"Yes, Bart?" I looked up at him. His hair was the color of mine. I liked it.
"Give Jadynne some time, okay?" He says quietly. Mommy said her name was Frost. Was Frost a nickname? Or was she just playing out what would happen?
I nod. Some people say I am extremely smart for a six year old. It's because Mommy taught me a lot. And Daddy taught me how to speed read. I know lots of stuff. Like a very big word.... I think it's methionylglutaminylarginyltyrosylglutamylserylleucylphenylalanylalanylglutaminylleucyllysylglutamylarginyllysylglutamylglycylalanylphenylalanylvalylprolylphenylalanylvalylthreonylleucylglycylaspartylprolylglycylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylserylleucyllysylisoleucylaspartylthreonylleucylisoleucylglutamylalanylglycylalanylaspartylalanylleucylglutamylleucylglycylisoleucylprolylphenylalanylserylaspartylprolylleucylalanylaspartylglycylprolylthreonylisoleucylglutaminylasparaginylalanylthreonylleucylarginylalanylphenylalanylalanylalanylglycylvalylthreonylprolylalanylglutaminylcysteinylphenylalanylglutamylmethionylleucylalanylleucylisoleucylarginylglutaminyllysylhistidylprolylthreonylisoleucylprolylisoleucylglycylleucylleucylmethionyltyrosylalanylasparaginylleucylvalylphenylalanylasparaginyllysylglycylisoleucylaspartylglutamylphenylalanyltyrosylalanylglutaminylcysteinylglutamyllysylvalylglycylvalylaspartylserylvalylleucylvalylalanylaspartylvalylprolylvalylglutaminylglutamylserylalanylprolylphenylalanylarginylglutaminylalanylalanylleucylarginylhistidylasparaginylvalylalanylprolylisoleucylphenylalanylisoleucylcysteinylprolylprolylaspartylalanylaspartylaspartylaspartylleucylleucylarginylglutaminylisoleucylalanylseryltyrosylglycylarginylglycyltyrosylthreonyltyrosylleucylleucylserylarginylalanylglycylvalylthreonylglycylalanylglutamylasparaginylarginylalanylalanylleucylprolylleucylasparaginylhistidylleucylvalylalanyllysylleucyllysylglutamyltyrosylasparaginylalanylalanylprolylprolylleucylglutaminylglycylphenylalanylglycylisoleucylserylalanylprolylaspartylglutaminylvalyllysylalanylalanylisoleucylaspartylalanylglycylalanylalanylglycylalanylisoleucylserylglycylserylalanylisoleucylvalyllysylisoleucylisoleucylglutamylglutaminylhistidylasparaginylisoleucylglutamylprolylglutamyllysylmethionylleucylalanylalanylleucyllysylvalylphenylalanylvalylglutaminylprolylmethionyllysylalanylalanylthreonylarginylserine (This is a chemical name.). I have no clue what it means, though. But Daddy said I don't need to worry about it. And I won't. It makes no sense to me.
"Bart.... What happened to Jady?"
"That's not my secret to tell, Ace." Bart says quietly.
"Well, from what I understand, you guys are married, right?"
"Uh, no." Bart's cheeks hinted red. "Not quite."
"Yet."
"Huh?"
"Not quite yet."
