One
I awoke to soft snowflakes falling slowly on my face. They felt like nothing, just tiny drips of water slowly descending on my face.
I opened my eyes. Looking up, i realized i was laying on my back in a boreal forest. Snow coated the pine needles on the branches that had dark-colored bark that plated the spruce trees. Snow was falling slowly from a white cloudy sky. I raised my head, my long snow-speckled raven-black hair following and falling down my shoulders.
I saw i was wearing a skin-tight scaly mahogany black leather catsuit that reached about 3 inches short of my ankles, almost 12 inches away from my wrists, and covered about 2 inches of my neck. My feet were bare, revealing my deathly pale skin which was almost unnoticeable against the white snow.
I stood up, feeling chilled in the brisk air and environment. I brushed some snow that had been piling on top of me.
A thought almost as chilling as the snow crossed my mine. How long have I been here?
I racked my mind trying to recall anything. But nothing rushed to me. I tried to remember how i got here and who I was. Still, nothing.
It was an odd sensation. It didn't feel as if i was reaching for something that used to be there. No, it felt as if i was reaching into a void of nothingness. I knew at that moment, it was not amnesia. I had no memories to find, none I had ever had in the first place.
But there was still something to search for, even if it wasn't previous memories. How i got here, and, mor specifically, who put me here.
I rubbed the back of my neck involuntarily. Alarm sprang on me as i felt metal. My hands rushed up to feel what was on my neck. My fingers closed around a metal collar. I felt metal scales attaching the metal collar to something on my back that, to my shock and disgust, was connected to the cervical section of my spine.
Who planted this device? Why did they do so? What does it do?
Those questions and more flooded my mind.
I needed answers. But first, i needed water. I took a few shaky steps in one direction
I continued walking. After what felt like five minutes staggering in the freezing cold, i spotted a massive frozen lake. I sprinted towards the lake, as my throat felt immensely dry and parched of thirst.
When i reached the lake, i saw that the ice looked pretty thick. Should be safe enough to walk on.
I approached the icy lake slowly.
One foot, then the next. One foot, then the next. Its okay. Its okay. You're still alive. The ice hasn't even cracked. The panicked thoughts ran through my mind as I walked into the ice.
Suddenly, I heard a tiny crack!
The crackes spread until they gave out. I fell into the freezing water.
I'm going to drown!!!
