Vaughn's p.O.V.

It was the morning of the fireworks so I got up early and went in the kitchen to get my breakfast so I could do my chores early. I looked over at the living room where the girls were still sleeping, and spotted Chelsea tossing a little in her sleep laying on the floor. I walk over to where she lays dodging the other girls and stroke her face a little and her tossing calms down. Slowly her eyes flutter open and I'm met with that gorgeous smile.

"Morning beautiful.", I say brushing my lips on hers.

"Morning.", she says with a slight blush as I slowly release her and return to the kitchen where she follows me a plops herself on the counter.

"Rough night." I ask.

"A little, but being everyone's still asleep, so I take it I didn't scream or get to loud.", she says looking down a moment."Well I better get dressed and get to work, I've got to go check on the animals and see if they need any more medicine, can't bring Flynn here or get anymore until the sick ones get their health back, and I've got to get to work repairing that fence.", she says as she hops down.

 "Hey Chels don't forget about the fireworks later.", I say quickly.

"Wouldn't dream of it, did you need me to bring anything?", she says.

 "Nope, not just you." I say with a smirk as she grabs her rucksack in the room and heads to the bathroom to change. I get out the fixin's for a pot of porridge as the pretty farmer bounds quickly and quietly down the stairs.

 "Well I better go.", she says pecking me on the cheek but as she turns to go I grab her wrist.

"Not so fast, you need to eat.", I say directing her to the table, and she sits with a fake pout. Today she has on a yellow tank top with a pair of jean shorts and her hairs up in a red bandana again.

"If I would have known this vacation was gonna be me working anyway, I would have taken a trip to Toucan island before coming here." She says.

"What's Toucan Island?", I ask as I set a bowl of porridge in front of her and take a seat across from her. She bows her head a moment and takes my hands quietly before lifting her head up again and puts a spoon in her bow.

"It's a tropical island just south of Castinet, it's a paradise year round, never gets cold.", she says before taking a mouthful of porridge in. I watch her as her eyes twinkle when she talks. "Oh well I'll just take a vacation this winter, since I'll see if Julia will watch the animals and go on a long cruise.", she says smiling.If I have my way I'll be along, because with my luck if I'm not there she'll find some way to get herself into some sort of trouble. As she finishes her bowl she gets up and washes it in the sink before placing it on the drying rack."Hey does Mirabella still have Giselle.", she asks suddenly very serious.

"Yeah she does, she's still uncomfortable with guys so we haven't spent a lot of time trying to place her." I say as she watches me with a thoughtful expression as I do the same with my bowl.

"Well I better get to work if I wanna be ready for tonight.", she says as she wraps her arms around my waist. I lean down and her lips meet mine for a brief moment as I pull her in.

"Have a good day and stay out of trouble.", I say as she smiles before I reluctantly let her go skipping out the door.

Chelsea's P.O.V.

I had so much to do before my date with Vaughn later I ran all the way to the ranch and started on the chickens first. I entered the coup seeing to their eggs while I sang, then I cuddled each one as I gave them their medicine, and fed them. By the time I exited they seemed happier but wait till they see their outside enclosure I'm gonna fix.My next stop is the barn, I feed each of the animals and spend a long time brushing them, and singing, before I give them their medicine. When I exit the barn there mooing and baaing a lot happier.

Then I get to work fixing the fencing on the chicken enclosure.After several hours it's done and I can let the birds enjoy some sunshine. Then I set my sights on the livestock enclosure, which as you guessed took awhile, especially since it was stone so it took more work. When this was done I let the livestock out into it and before I knew it I had some happier sounding animals.I looked at the sky and figured I still had a lot of time, I missed lunch, but I really wanted the corral ready for when I get horses.

So I get to work on it and remind my self to ask Gannon to fix the stable up. After a few more hours I sit down leaning against the fence and survey the work I've done and what has yet to be done.Then enclosures were done the barn and coup were cleaned and are holding nicely, the supply shed needs some work also. The house was tore down, and the frame was up, so that would be done by the end of the week in time for the new furniture ect. To be here.And if I have my way this time next year I'll have a cowboy to share it with. I lean my head back and drift off for a little bit. Dreaming about a winter elopement. I looked up with sleep in my eyes as a cowboy came up the hill.

"Thought I'd check on you, since you have a tendency to overwork yourself." he said looking around.

"Just taking a breather.", I say with a smile as he sits next to me. "Remember I'm used to working four jobs, two of them at ranches." I say with a yawn as he hugs me.

"You work too much, that's probably why you got sick.", he says.

"Nope that was cause I got gassed when I went mountain climbing.", I say with a giggle.

"What on earth were you doing mountain climbing.", he says.

"I was chasing the blue bird of happiness." I say with a giggle and thankfully he doesn't get the joke yet."I've got to start cleaning the garden up tomorrow, those plants aren't salvageable.", I say looking over the land.

"Tomorrow's the wedding, just take it easy worry about the animals, the garden can wait a day." he says as he wraps an arm around me and kisses my forehead. "Well I guess I'd better head to the Inn so I can clean up for the fireworks festival.", I say as I get up and he takes my hand and walks with me to town.

When we get by the animal shop we part and I head to the Inn and look over the two dresses I brought. I pull out a sparkly purple dress that matches Vaughn's eyes and run into the bathroom to shower and get changed. After an hour my hair is fixed framing my face in little wisps, I have on the necklace Vaughn gave me and my purple dress.I put on some mascara and some lip color just to make my eyes have that bit of pop.

I'm so nervous, I wanna look my best though because in my bag is the blue feather I got from the bird and I'm going to ask Vaughn to marry me today.My hands are shaking a little as I get out a small purse and hide the feather in it. Then I remind myself it'll be ok, after all it's like I'm getting myself a birthday gift if he says yes.Of course he'll say yes, this is Vaughn. I tell myself as I pace the room. My hands are all clammy, as I hear a knock at my door.

 I open it up and smile as I greet my now blushing boyfriend as he looks me over.He looks so amazing, apparently he forgot his hat at home and he's wearing a black dress shirt with the collar undone and a pair of black jeans, with the other half of my necklace around his neck.

"Wow Chels, you look amazing tonight.", he says blushing slightly and I feel a little heat in my cheeks while he looks me over.

 "Thanks same to you.", I say as I stand on my tiptoes and kiss his cheek.

He offers me his arm and I wind mine through his as he leads me to the island where we're going to watch the fireworks.When we arrive I find that he has a blanket and a picnic basket set up for us. He takes my other hand as I smooth out my dress and take a seat before he joins me. He pulls out a bottle of sparkly champagne, and puts it in two glasses from the basket, and pulls out a container with some cheese and crackers.

We sit and talk quietly while we wait for the show to start. Eventually the fireworks start going off and I move so I can lean into him and he wraps his arms around me while leaning his chin on my shoulder.The only way to make this more perfect would be if he says yes when I give him the feather.

"Chelsea he says suddenly serious, why were you mountain climbing, alone." he asks.

 "Because on Castinet there's a legend of a bird that shows up when a person's in love. And if you want to marry someone you have to follow that bird to the top of the mountain.", I say watching his eyes as a glimmer of understanding enters. "Now I spotted the bird and followed it to Garmon, and I wasn't going to let it get away." I said."I wanted to make sure I got my happy ending so I climbed the mountain and went after it.", I continued as he listened. "I had to cut through the mines a few times but eventually I got to the top, and she was waiting for me. I say reaching into my purse and pull out my prize holding it out to him. "Now I'm asking you to accept my feather" I say holding it out to him in shaking hands.

Vaughn's p.o.v.

There she was shaking holding her own feather, that she'd worked for, and made it to the top of a mountain, dealing with gasses and her claustrophobia, to get that one thing, because she wanted to marry me as much as I wanted to marry her.She was sitting there ready to jump, hoping I will catch her.

"Well Chelsea, I've loved you since that day we kissed in my dad's barn", I say and even though things have been crazy I wouldn't want to be with anyone else, so I'll accept your proposal, if ", I say pulling a black box out of the basket. "you accept mine." I say and she jumps up and hugs me knocking me over smashing her lips into mine.

"So is that a yes?", I say as she nods her head with happy tears in her eyes and I pull her into another kiss.Later when the fireworks is over as I walk her back to the Inn her holding her purse and feather, we get several congratulations on the way back.

"Oh Chelsea, I'm so excited for you, we should tell Nathan so we can have the church ready for the next one.", says my cousin Julia, as Chelsea chuckles politely, but knowing her she's not gonna wanna get married by Nathan. As we get back to the Inn I kiss my fiancé goodnight when we get to her door.

"Vaughn, how would you feel if we just went on a cruise and eloped this winter.", she says as I walk down the hallway.

"Whatever you want Chelsea, as long as I'm marrying you." I say as I leave her for the night.I walk back to the animal shop feeling happier than I've ever been, and now that I was marrying Chelsea they could only get better.

Chelsea's P.O.V.

I got up early and hurried from the inn to the ranch so I could tend the animals. I was still glowing from the night before. I've never been so happy, but it's only gonna get better.I start with the barn feeding them and brushing them while singing until their happy, and then I milk them. I put whatever I get in the bin because even not so good milk will bring in some money.

Then I go to the coop and take care of the chickens, and as soon as everyone is happy and the eggs are collected and in the box I'm done. I'd like to till the field, but with Julia's wedding there just isn't any time.I look at my house that Gannon is building and run over to him.

"Hey Gannon, when your done with the house I need to hire you to fix the sheds and build a new stable.", I say as he waves when I run up.

"No problem Miss Chelsea, um hey maybe you can help me set up the computer system for my business if I give you a discount." he asks scratching his large head.

"Hey sure no problem, I can do that easy.", I say before waving before I run off towards town. I pass the beach on the way to the inn and take a squat in the sand placing my feet in while my knees are to my chin. I watch as the boats come and go for a few minutes before I get up grabbing my shoes I head back to the inn.I need to buy a dress for my wedding so I call up Julius and Candace, there the best and will know what to do, plus then I won't have to go to the city until I have to catch the cruise ship.

"He-hello.", comes Candace's nervous sounding voice. "

Hey Candace this is Chels, I need you and Julius to design me a dress.", I say.

"Oh wow what for?", she says more comfortably now that she knows it's me.

"Well I'm getting married this winter and I convinced the groom to get married on a cruise ship and elope.", I say.This is followed by excited squeals from Candace, to which I hear Julius voice in the background and then he sounds excited too.

"Hey Chels this is Jules, no prob's we'll come up with some fab ideas for your dress for your wedding day. An elopement on a cruise ship is so you, and I'm certain we can make you look ravishing."

"Thanks I knew I could count on you guys to help me, now I just got to book the cruise." I say as Julius giggles again. I let my friends go pleased that my wedding dress will be in their hands.I look at the time and am pleased to see I still have lots of time since I'm meeting my date there because he's in the wedding party.

Then I make a few more calls to my friends on Castinet telling them the good news, about my engagement.My last call was to Gill who surprised me by offering to set up and pay for the cruise for me this winter to thank me for all the work I saved him at the Town Hall. I thanked him and he said he'd get back to me as soon as he set it up, with his connections.When I got off the phone I went to work getting ready for the wedding. I showered and put on a yellow flowery sundress and a pair of strappy sandals I curl my hair so it frames my face, and surprisingly my brown is coming back and the blond is fading, but no worries.

 I looked over myself before grabbing my small purse and putting my phone on vibrate.When I got to the church I took a seat on the back pugh, and waited. Cain was near the front with his family on one side, with Julia's mom. and Taro and his family was on the other. Eventually the music started and Elliott was at the front with his best man Will, andRenée the maid of honor was on the other side.

Eventually the wedding march began and everyone stood and I watched as Vaughn walked his cousin down the aisle meeting my eyes for a moment, and then going to the end giving her to her intended before he took a seat by his aunt.Nathan began to speak and before we knew it the vows were said, and it was time to greet the bride and groom. Vaughn came over and offered me his arm wordlessly as we went to the greeting line.

 He looked so good in that black suit, his hat still missing.We greet and hug the bride and the groom, then we go to meadow island where the reception is set to be held. Not once did Vaughn leave my side, except to go to the bathroom. He even danced the fast dances with me. He had really loosened up, and we were having a great time.

An older Tim McGraw song comes on and he keeps me close.

I wonder if Vaughn knows the effect he has on me. I gaze into his eyes captivated by the way he looks into mine. My heart feels so full, and this isn't just a temporary thing, there's nothing to rip my beloved away from me.

Shivers run down my spine as Vaughn sings the next line quietly by my ear so only I can hear it as he pulls me tighter.

When the reception ended it was late, I walked with Chelsea back to the Inn where she was staying. She was carrying her sandals and purse walking barefoot, and her natural chestnut color was starting to make it's self dominant in her hair again.I have to admit, she out shined the bride today, at least in my eyes. We walked along on the beach and her eyes sparkle in the moonlight as she looks up at the stars. When she looks back at me and our eyes meet she smiles and it takes my breath away.

We eventually get to her room, where pull her in and touch my lips to hers, she kisses back parting her lips slightly and I use the tip of my tongue to deepen the kiss as her hands twirl through my hair as she leans her body into me.When our lips part we're both blushing.

 "Goodnight.", she says with a smirk as she opens her door an gives me a little wave before leaving me in an empty hallway.
