Chapter 1
October 12, 2019
Dear Dad,
Hey, its another 365 days and it's been exactly 13 years since you left us, I don't have much memories about you but mom always says I'm becoming like you more and more every day.
But enough about me, I really wanna say happy birthday Dad, sometimes I wish you were here with us but I know you're in a better place and you're watching over us.
So once more, happy birthday Dad, I love you.
With love,
Aaron.
I drew a heart on it and folded the letter and placed it in an envelope, with a little smile on my face I placed the envelope in a box I had reserved for all my letters to my dad, there were a lot of things in the box and they all had various significances.
Today, I was attending a cosplay event and I had prepared my outfit, I was going to go as Hercules due to the fact it was a Greek era cosplay.
After a short day at school, which I was secretly grateful for, due to the fact most of the schools in the town allowed or liked their students participating, we were free to change into our costumes and be at the event.
I slammed the door of my locker shut as I had adorned myself with the whole attire of Hercules the great son of Zeus, it was perfect, I looked perfect for the role of skinny Hercules; the demi god who couldn't do anything.
My frail tall structure wasn't helpful in this scenario and I did know that after today, I'd be teased because of my lankiness not as though it was a new thing, just that they'd have but another thing to talk about.
As I came out of the locker room and walked through the once busy hallway, everyone was already at the event.
I had left the school and was standing on the side walk, if the cosplay wasn't today, people would have thought I was some kid acting in some school play or a mentally unstable person but most likely the first one.
I could hear music blaring and that hinted me that I was going in the right direction, I wasn't much of a fan of gatherings due to the fact I had social anxiety and I wouldn't do much but I was doing this for my mom and myself.
I had promised to get confident about myself and maybe make friends along the way and that was what I was going to do.

The event went on smoothly but I still hadn't developed enough courage to speak to anyone yet.
And I didn't think I would, I'd have to lie to my mom, that I did, to please her.
As I was looking around at people conversing and doing stuff that I couldn't care less about I noticed a girl in a rather different costume, and I didn't know why but I found myself walking towards her which was rather strange on my part.
Before I knew it, I was standing behind her and then I placed a hand on her shoulder, which made her turn stiff and I noticed she had paled up,
"Uhm, Hi... I just wanted to say that, I like your costume, it looks pretty original but it doesn't go with the theme," I said without stuttering, which was another surprising action but oh well today was maybe one of those days.
The girl stood in front of me getting paler by the second, at this rate she looked as though she could faint but then I noticed her color returning,
"So you can see me?" She asked squinting her eyebrows, I looked at her as though she was a bit delusional but then I realized this was a cosplay event after all,
"Yes milady, I think you forgot to put on your necklace of invincibility, that must be the reason why I can see you," I said feeling a little cheeky,
The girl before me seemed confused, "invincibility necklace?" She asked before stepping back,
"I'm going to leave, see you soon Aaron," she said as she took off on her heels and disappeared through the crowd leaving me with only one thought on my mind, how did she know my name and why did she have this mysterious aura surrounding her?
