I chatted with some of the other animals. Much commotion passed until Fox stood upon an upturned pail.

He barked loudly several times to gain the attention of the other members of the Stray Pack.

"We are gathered here for a big event!" pants Fox in excitement. "We are going to help Star find her mother!" The other animals mewled and whooped.

"Gather your courage, we move at dawn! Eat your fill tonight, the journey will not be short one!" Fox smiled at me. "Star, your moment is coming soon, I swear. Someday, you'll know who you are and what purpose you serve in life." Fox gave me a reassuring smile.

How did he know that I was searching for my mother?

How did he know that I was struggling with myself?

How did he see that?

There was definitely something off about Fox.

Maybe he's slyer than he's cutting himself out to be...
