"Star, today's the big day! Well, at least for you."

"Huh?" I ask. What in the world was Fox talking about?

"'Member? Your going to meet the Stray Pack!"

"Wha- oh yeah! You're even more excited than I am!" I say, giggling.

"Whatcha waiting for? C'mon! Let's go ya sleepyhead!"

Together, me and Fox, two unlikely friends bound across territory unbeknownst to me. Past fields of golden grain, brushing through the lush vegetation, we come upon an old run down shack, worn and leaning to one side. At night, I bet it looks creepy. Creepy enough for ghosts to live there.

Luckily, it was daytime.

"Ready?" asks Fox, clearly excited for me.

"Uh-huh," I say, nervously.

"Ok," says Fox while holding his paw to the shack's old screen door.

"One."

"Two."

"Three!" Fox thrusts open the door.

"Ok gang, settle down. This here is Star, she'll be with us for a while. Let's make her feel at home!" yips Fox.

After Fox's little announcement, two identical cats approach me.
