CHAPTER NINETEEN

QUESTIONS

ELIZABETHS POV

What did Troy mean by 'us'? What was I supposed to say next? Should Tell him I liked him or should I just stay quiet ? A millions of questions piled up in my mind and I didn't know what to do. I looked at Troy but he didn't say anything, maybe he didn't know what to say either.

The door opened, I was expecting to see the doctor but instead I saw Terry walking in, holding a bag.

"Hey Troy." She greeted, ignoring me. Troy looked at her and smiled lightly. "I heard about your accident so I came and brought you these." She placed the bag she was holding on a stool. "What is it?" Troy asked.

"It's graham crackers. Your favourite, right?" She asked as if to make me jealous. 'Why didn't I think of that?'

Troy said thanks then he looked at me, Terry pretended to notice me. "You're here?" She asked.

"You're seeing me, aren't you?" I said walking to the door, Terry rolled her eyes. "I meant what are you doing here?"

"I came to see Troy."

"What did you bring for him?" She asked eyeing me, did I have to bring something for Troy? I came to see if he was okay not to bring him gifts!

"Her presence is enough." Troy said, I looked at him and smiled.

"I want to talk to Troy privately." Terry said, I looked at her and frowned. "Could you please excuse us?"

"I was leaving anyways." I opened the door and walked out.

I should probably wait her until Terry leaves, I thought as I looked at the door. I heard Troy laugh from inside the room and shook the thought from my head, I should probably go home.

I grabbed my bags and left the hospital building.

Why can't I make Troy laugh like Terry did? Why did Terry have to show up and ruin anything? Why didn't Troy tell me to wait for him? Why did Cory and Sally leave me alone?

Cory and Sally...

My mind wondered to them. They're probably talking or making out somewhere, they don't have any Terry or crazy person to interrupt them.

I finally reached my house, my feet were killing me. Sometimes I underestimate myself, who would have thought I'd be able to walk from the hospital to my house?

I saw two cars parked outside, I don't know who they belong to but they looked familiar.

My front door was open, I mistakenly left it open.

"Surprise!"

The lights suddenly came on and a few people were gathered around me. Sally, Cory, Dave, Terry, Troy and some other people.

Terry and Troy?

What are they doing here?

Troy was using a wheelchair, they were all wearing birthday hats and the house was decorated. Sally walked to me.

"Happy birthday, silly!" She said rubbing my cheeks. I laughed, I forgot about my birthday. "You forgot, right?" She asked and I nodded. "I knew it!" She said while laughing. "You forget every year."

Sally was right, I never remembered my birthday, my mind was either clouded with something or I just didn't care. Terry walked to me, what was she doing here?

"Happy birthday Liz!" She said happily, why was she happy? And why's she calling me Liz?

"How did you get here? I left you at the hospital."

"You walked all the way here, I took my car." She said as if it was nothing. I was going to ask her why she was here in the first place since she hates me but the words didn't come out.

"This was all planned, I told Troy in the hospital and he laughed about the plan, you got upset and left." Terry explained but that didn't explain why she was being nice.

"I don't hate you Liz, maybe I did before but not anymore." She explained further. "I'm also sorry." She apologized and hugged me.

"Don't steal my best friend!" Sally dragged me away from her and we all laughed. "Happy birthday Elizabeth!" Cory said. "Thanks!" I hugged him and smiled.

"Why are there so many thieves tonight?!" Sally complained and I let go of Cory. "Happy now?" I teased.

"I'm happy!"

I looked around for Troy but he wasn't here, where did he go?

"I'm sure he's outside." Terry suggested reading my mind, I nodded and walked outside the house. 

"Hey." I greeted as I saw Troy outside, he looked different in a wheelchair. "Are you okay?" I asked, worried.

"I am. Happy birthday Liz." He said to take away my worries away. "Thanks."

"This is for you."

He gave me a present and I collected it. When I opened it, it was a necklace that had 'Troy <3 Liz' written on it.

"Wow Troy it's... it's... it's beautiful." I said still looking at it.

"I would have worn it for you but I'm on a wheelchair."

I chuckled lightly and knelt down so he could reach me. Troy wore the necklace around my neck, every touch he made sent sparks to my body.

"Troy loves Liz?" I asked facing him, he smiled. "Yeah..." He said staring into my eyes. "I love you Troy." I said and kissed him.
