♡So Expect♡
There is a story that has been whispering into my mind and soul. Appearing in my dreams, in songs, and now... in reality. A hopeful, heart-touching/heart-breaking, but saddening story; the story of So Expect.
You should know that the story I am about to tell you is somewhat true. Mixed with pure reality and imagination. The terrible memories within said in this story are real, however I should inform you that some details have been altered and exaggerated over the passing dreams and psychical imagination, so believe as much as you wish.
Once upon a time-
☆☪☆
Squeezing his strong, muscular arm, Stephanie pleaded to her boyfriend, Jonah. She didn't want him to act this way, not now, no way. He didn't need, he didn't like her anymore. All he ever benefited for his sweetheart was his company. Jonah was always focused with his work and always ignored the fact that Stephanie was there to help or in need of him.
Feeling the pressure within the lower realm of his left arm, Jonah just stared into space, not giving a single eye or look at his tear-filled, pleading girlfriend begging him to reconsider his mind. Taking in a suck of air, he closed his eyes, turned away from Stephanie, and shoved her reassuring hand away from his arm. Nudging it away, he never tried to look into her saddening eyes filled with urging tears.
Sitting down with his hands together, Jonah stared at the ground below him, trying to ignore Stephanie's pleads and words. Stephanie was very hurt at the fact that Jonah didn't need or wanted her anymore. She tried again, moving closer to him as she wrapped both hands around his upper region of his left, muscular arm. She was on the urge to cry, but she didn't want to give up on him. However, she was again pushed away.
It was then that she realized that he really didn't care for her anymore. Gathering her things and packing them in her black suitcase, she walked in front of Jonah with the suitcase in her hand. She had enough and it was time for her to move on and move away from him. Steph couldn't contain the tears in her eyes anymore as some had fallen from her beautiful eyes.
Walking down the spiraling staircase in Jonah's home, she was about to leave him. Still in his office, Jonah heard the heart-breaking footsteps of hers from below as she exited his home. Jonah stood up from his sitting, remembering Steph's shadow before she walked out of that office door. Standing up from his seat, he walked over to the window and saw something he was expecting to see.
Out of the window, a white car was parked out of his entrance. Not just that, but there was also a man... A man he never knew. What was surprising was that Stephanie was walking towards him with her suitcase as the man was walking towards her as well. Jonah couldn't believe his eyes as he froze from his spot.
Handing the man that she knew her suitcase, she looked up at the window that Jonah was looking through. Turning her head, her eyes were filled with sadness and despair, showing that her heart was broken, shattered into pieces as if a knife had just stabbed her in her soul's chamber. Not only her, but the mysterious man looked up too.
Jonah's mouth dropped and his eyes saddened at the fact that she was actually leaving him, but not alone... She had a new man. Looking through the window, Jonah could see that Steph was just getting into the passenger seat of the white car. Once the car door was shut, Jonah's walls began to collapse around his burdened heart.
Inside the car, Steph stared straight through the windshield in front of her with tear-filled eyes, realizing what she had just done and what had happened. Once the man she knew was seated in the driver seat, he turned on the engine, gave her a reassuring, soft smile, and slowly started to drive off.
Still looking through the window, Jonah saw the white car's backlights go off and the car was beginning to drive away. He couldn't let this happen. He shouldn't have done such a thing. Choking back at his unknown feeling and pain, he turned away from the window and ran out of the room. Running down the staircase that Steph once walked down from, he ran outside and chased after the car that his girlfriend was in.
In the car, Steph held back her tears as Jonah was chasing after the car. It was then that she recall a memory through her tears.
-------
It was Jonah's birthday and I wanted to surprise him. He has always been a hard worker and cold-hearted, but that's enough to accept him for who he is. Even in this behavior, it always made my heart race with incredible speed. I decided to bake him a special cake that he loved since he was little and walked quietly upstairs into his office without him noticing.
There, Jonah was working hard on his assignments that he keeps receiving from his coworkers, assistants, and boss. I just wish he could just stop being busy and spend some time with me. Seeing this, I wanted that to come true. I lighted up the candles in the cake in my hands and turned off the lights in his office.
As the lights went out, I saw Jonah raising his head from his papers and wondered why the lights were off and what was happening. I smiled to myself as I walked to him with his birthday cake that I made from him in my hands.
When I was close to him, wrapped one of my arms around his neck as the other was holding the lighting cake in front of his face. Smiling, I snuggled against him, but just as I was about to say 'happy birthday'... Jonah pushed me away. Sighing with disappointment with a bit of an upsetting feeling, he stood up from his desk and threw his pencil down on the table. I stood there in disbelief as he turned to look at me with disappointment and anger as he walked away from me. I was frozen at the spot where he pushed me... I thought I made him happy, but I was wrong.
-------
As Steph was recalling this memory, she had tears in her eyes as her mouth parted out with a soft, quiet whimper leaving it. She slowly then turned her head to the side to see through the car's rear mirror that Jonah was shouting her name as he was running behind the car. Looking at this, she choked back a sob as one tear slipped from her eyes as she continued to see the man that stabbed her heart is chasing for her.
"Stop the car," she softly said, trying to not hint a bit of sadness and pain.
From her soft words, the car then came to a halt as Jonah stopped and panted from all the energy that he used to run after the car.
There, Jonah heard the car door open as shifted his gaze up to see that Steph stepped out of the vehicle, looking at him with pained eyes full of tears. Getting out of the car, she slowly walked up to Jonah with 5 feet in-between them. Jonah regained his composure as he softly smiled at Steph, but what he didn't expect was that Steph didn't smile back. Instead, she looked at him with despair and sadness. She gave him a frown with tears in her devastating eyes. Jonah was taken aback as his smile slowly disappeared as Steph looked back at another memory through her teary eyes.
-------
It was late at night, as I was trying to fix my car that had broken down from my travels back home. Opening the car's engine roof, a lot of smoke escaped the engine, but just as I was about to fix the engine... I felt something wet running down my face. It wasn't tears... But it was... Rain.
It was not a drizzle, but it was a very heavy, stormy downpour. Immediately, I closed the engine roof shut and ran into the inside of my car. Closing the door behind me, I tried to call Jonah to help me.
***
Meanwhile, I was busy working on a project that my boss assigned to me as it was going to be due and presented tomorrow. Just then, I heard a sound ringing throughout my office. Lifting up my papers, it revealed that it was my phone that was ringing and it was my girlfriend, Steph that called me. She should've known that I don't have time for this as I angrily slammed a document sample over my cellphone.
***
With no response back from Jonah, I dropped my cellphone in my hand as I looked out of the car window, revealing the downpour outside. Getting out of the car, I tried to get some help by getting someone's attention to get me back home, but there was no one out here at a time like this.
I was cold, wet, and sad as I wrapped my arms around shivering body to warm myself up. Looking through the harsh weather, I heard a voice calling me out. Turning to the voice, I realized that it was Skylar, my childhood friend. He was holding an umbrella in his hand as he offered his hand out to me.
-------
Just then, the driver's door opened and there stepped out the man, Skylar. He walked over to Steph with concern as he looked ahead and saw Jonah looking at the new couple in disbelief. Skylar walked closer behind Steph, not taking his eyes off at the man that broken his crush's heart.
Turning her gaze away, Steph sobbed a bit as she saw Jonah looking at her and her new boyfriend in shock and disbelief. She knew that Jonah didn't expect this to happen, not at all.
Skylar then wrapped an arm around Steph's waist and looked at her with love and concern.
"Steph..." he whispered softly in her ear to get her attention. However, she didn't responded back as she ignored him.
Seeing her like this caused his heart to break even more.
'Why did it had to be him, not me?' he thought.
Steph then turned her attention towards the man that broke her heart and sobbed out his name.
"Jo-n-ah..." she said, breaking out his name with tears and sobs.
Jonah then stared at her when he heard his name being said from cries and tears of pain.
☾♡☽
I was in a black car, heading to a destination to see the person that I always wanted to see the most. I was dressed nice, in a black tuxedo just for this person. Lifting up the small, white box with a pearly ribbon on top, I look at it for a while.
'This is for you' I thought as I was thinking about that the person I wanted to see.
Staring into space, I shut my eyes as I slowly gulped down as I was preparing myself for what I'm about to be faced with...
Slowly walking into the church, I see an engaged couple getting ready to be wedded as husband and wife. Walking in the room, I see that I was the only one that was dressed in black. As I entered in, I see the groom lifting up his bride's veil over her beautiful hair. As I was at the end of the aisle, I see in front of my eyes that the bride was the person that I wanted to see the most... Stephanie.
As I look even closer, I realize that the groom was no other than Skylar himself as he pulled his bride's veil over her head. Steph then gives her groom a soft smile, a smile that she has always given to me. Seeing this, my face stiffens as my lips tighten. Then I see was something that I needed to be prepared for the most... The part that was so expected against me.
Swallowing my gulp, I see ahead that Skylar slowly slides a beautiful, single, diamond ring up on my love's wedded, left, ring finger. Seeing this happening, Steph looks up from the ring that was placed on her finger to her newly-wedded husband's face, giving him a soft, yet beautiful smile.
Seeing this, I couldn't take it anymore.
'I was too late... I wasn't ready...'
Squeezing my eyes shut with despair and pain, I took a step back as I walked away from the wedded ceremony, not wanting to face this again...

Looking at the new couple in front of him, Jonah's heart was broken in despair and pain. Seeing them looking at Jonah, he saw Steph looked at him with tears and Skylar looked with shame and disappointment. He couldn't take this anymore as he squeezed his eyes shut and took a step back.
Just then, Jonah flicked his head around and his face constricted.
"Stop!" he shouted.
But it was too late. Right in front of him, a vehicle was charging with full speed and couldn't stop in time. Just then... the car hit Jonah and shouts and screams were shouted.
"JONAH!" Steph screamed, as her eyes widened from what she just faced.
"OH MY GOD!" Skylar shouted, as he looked at the accident in front of him.
Jonah was hit by the vehicle as he rolled on engine roof, smashed into the windshield, and rolled down to the road. His head was smashed to the hard cemented gravel as his face was covered in blood, his eyes filled with sadness, pain, and despair, as his hand rested across his heart.

The operation room was in session, as the lights were hitting directly on the critically, injured figure. The surgeons tried their best to save the man, but his heart couldn't respond. Trying to restart his heart, they use the defibrillator to try to get his pulse. It's all up to him if he wants to die. Whatever fight he has in there, he has to get it out. This was a life-to-death situation.
"CLEAR!"
☾♡☽
I look up to the light... Reliving the last memory I had...
-------
"CLEAR!"
-------
I cover my strained face with my face... Trying to hold back my feelings and pain...
-------
"CLEAR!"
-------
I swipe my hands off my face...
-------
There was no response... The defibrillation was a fail... The pulse machine had no sign of a pulse... There was a straight line on the heart monitor screen... He was dead.
-------
I stare ahead into space, shock and pain was shown in my face and deep within my eyes.
-------
He was now dead, as the doctors sadly covered a sheet over his body and head.
Stephanie cried with pain as tears were spilling out from her eyes with her hand resting on the observation window of the operation room. Her feelings were now pained with the event that happened just this morning and now... the death of the man that broken her heart, but she then knew... She still has feelings for him. She loved him...
"Jonah!" she cried in agony and uncontrollably as Skylar comforted her from behind.
-------
Staring into space, I realize what I had caused. I've given up too quickly. Too quickly for her to realize that... I still love her, anyone, but her.
Staring at the couple in front of me, I realize that I gave my angel away. Away to the wrong man... It was all happening too fast. Too fast for me to handle... My heart constrict with sadness and pain.
'I left my beloved angel... Without saying goodbye...'
My heart gave out on me as my feelings then told me that I loved her, but even if I did... It was too late...
"I'm sorry..."
***
After the wedding, I was talking to my friends that came to my wedding. I'm so glad they came as I smiled happily at them as they shared their complements and blessings to me and my newly-wedded husband.
"You look beautiful Steph!" Natalie smiled.
"I wish you and Skylar pure happiness and love," Tiffany smiled along.
"Congrats sweetie!" my other friends shouted with joy.
As I was talking with my friends, a little boy I never met was walking up to me and gently took my hand in his. With one hand, he was holding and squeezing my hand. With the other, he handed me a small white box with a pearly ribbon bow on top.
I took the beautiful small box in my hand as I look up, wondering who would've gave this to me.
***
I was in my dressing room, in my beautiful wedding dress. Sitting down in front of the vanity mirror, I open the small box. Inside, it reveal something that I never expected as my mouth slowly dropped. Lifting up the item from its chamber, it was a necklace... It was the diamond, heart necklace I saw when I went shopping with Jonah... The one that I really love and wanted...
-------
I was shopping with Jonah on our date and I happened to stumble across a beautiful necklace in front of a viewing window of a jewelry shop. When I looked at it, I was smiling to myself.
'It's so beautiful...'
It was an elegant, but simple diamond, heart necklace. Seeing this, I felt like it was shouting at me, wanting me to buy and wear it. Wanting to buy this beautiful jewelry, I turned to my boyfriend. As I turned, I noticed that he was on the phone again with one of his coworkers talking about a project they were assigned to do.
Ignoring the fact that he was busy, I caught his attention and turned back to the window, smiling and pointed at the necklace. Turning his head around with the phone in his hand, Jonah looked at where I was pointing. I smiled to myself as I see the necklace glittering and shining through the glass that it's locked in. While I was staring at the necklace, Jonah turned his attention back on his phone and nodded.
"Yes, right away," he said, answering the call.
Grabbing my hand, Jonah looked at me with the 'look'. The look that shows that we needed to go back home and that he's busy. This meant that the date we had was over. 'Short & Sweet'? More like 'Short & Busy' like every date we always have. Turning his attention back on his cell, he walked out of the hall that we were in to the exit of the mall, while holding my hand, pulling me along with him.
Taking one last look at the displayed necklace, I turned my head around and walked away with my boyfriend.
-------
Remembering the memory, my heart gave out and I burst out in tears. Looking at the necklace that I dearly wanted for so long was in my delicate hands. I couldn't hold back any hidden feelings any longer... I pull the beautiful necklace to my chest, clutching it as I wish for Jonah to be here for me as I sob with love, pain, sadness, remembrance, and despair. I still had feelings for him... And I'll never forget him... I love him...
***
Walking into the bride's dressing room, I walk towards the beautiful bride who was sobbing with sadness. Standing right behind my love, Steph, I see her clutching the necklace to her chest. She was very beautiful, but she was crying with tears. I couldn't bear to see my beloved cry as I became soft for her and was on the urge to cry as well. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that she was crying about me.
Trying to comfort her, I slowly put my hands on her shoulders, but instead, my hand went through her shoulder, not touching her at all. My touch was untouchable and unbearable. My hand went through Steph's arm invisibly with no trace of warmth, love, comfort, or reassurance. All it left was nothing... Nothing at all; Nothing, but a clear, ghostly touch.
Steph is still sobbing, sobbing uncontrollably with tears rolling down from her elegant face. Walking around her, I stood right in front of her face. There I got a better look of my love. She was crying still, clutching the necklace tightly and closely to her chest, where her heart is. She doesn't notice that I'm here, in front of her... No one does... No one.
Kneeing down in front of her, my vision was blurry, blurry with tears. I want her, I want to help her, and I want to comfort her... I want to love her.
As I lift my hand up to wipe her delicate tears away from her angelic face to comfort her, my gaze was turn focus on the man that was right next to her. Her groom, Skylar was right next to his bride, Steph, resting his hand on her shoulders reassuringly. Looking up from the touch, Steph turn to see her husband with tears rolling down her cheeks, she needed someone to comfort her. She was sobbingly uncontrollably about something, something or someone that was very dear to her.
'Was it me? Is it about me? I'm sorry...'
Wrapping her arms around Skylar's waist, Steph was clutch onto him as she cried out her feelings and emotions. Not only was Steph crying, but Skylar was also slowly tearing up and crying as well. Seeing this, I look at the sad, newly wedded, loving couple through my teary vision as a tear slipped out and rolled down my face.
☆☪☆
-seeing them through his teary vision, a single tear slipped out and rolled down his face.
That is how the story abruptly comes to an end I'm afraid. I don't know what will happen next to those three, but I have a feeling that it was the end. You see, I know how this story begins and ends...
