Chap 5

(Imagine this image of Ming for the college and sotus scene. I like this style on him 😅)

____________

Kit's POV

Damn, these engineering kids fight for stupid reasons. Pha and I treated their small wound with our first aid kit.

Yes, I know it sounds like my name. Don't make fun with the spelling🙄.

As we were doing our job, one of them didn't line up to get treated. We have seen this boy before. To be exact, at the bar a few weeks ago. I have to be honest. This kid does look handsome. I'm sure he'll end up as a moon of engineering this year.

"Oi nong, don't you want to get treated? Your knuckles seem bad," I asked him as I tried to start a conversation with him but, he was looking down.

I slowly wiped his blood-stained hands, cause god it looks terrible.

"Oi nong, I think you broke your metacarpals. You should check and do an x-ray," I advise him, but he didn't reply to me nor flinches due to pain.

'Does he have any disorder which affects his pain receptors?'

"Ming, look at me," I heard someone talking near my ears.

As I turned around, I saw the boy who was with him that day at the bar. Wow, I didn't know this small kid could be so scary.

He took the sanitized wet wipes from me roughly and started to clean the wound on the other boy's hand by himself. I left them both to have a conversation.

The small boy was staring coldly at the other, and to be honest, I felt scared. Geez, it felt like this small boy is emitting some strange, creepy aura. Then they talked something among themselves so softly, like whispering to each other, and then out of a sudden, the new small kid hugged him. It seems like I was right. They are couples.

Then the small boy said something to his friends and pulled the injured boy with him. I couldn't catch a single word he said cause I was busy looking at the wounded boy. He seems lost. I just followed them to the entrance when the small kid pulled the injured one out of that place without realizing much.

"Oi nong," they turned around to my calling.

"Your friend needs an x-ray for his hand. Check that out," I uttered that and left that place.

It's up to them to go check it out or do anything they wanted to do. My job is over here.

'Wayo's POV'

"Why can't they talk things out and solve the damn problem?!" shouted Wayo to no one in particular as he kicked the dustbin near him.

He left Ming in the consultation room with the doctor and stay in the outside garden. It's too small to be called a garden, yet it still had trees and flowering plants. So yeah, it's a garden for him.

"That's vandalism, nong," said someone behind me.

Wayo turned around to face the intruder but was tongue-tied to meet his so-called masterpiece behind him.

The only thing he could think of that moment is that 'It's a freakin destiny.'

"Ohh, I'm sorry, phi," replied Wayo as he apologized to him.

"What's bothering you so much till the point that you abusive the poor bin?" asked the new guy with a small smile.

"Ah- that. My best friend got involved in a fight again, and that irritates me so much," answered Wayo.

He sat by the bench near the fence and focused on his hands on his laps. The new guy followed him and sat beside him.

"Does your friend always fight?" asked the new guy calmly.

"No,"

"Is the fight his fault?"

"I don't know,"

"Are you going to be mad at him?"

"Of course not. I don't even know the full story. How could I blame Ming without knowing the truth?"

"Then, why are you so angry?"

"Because he got hurt, and he is inadequate at taking care of himself," replied Wayo annoyed now.

"You're a good friend. I'm sure your friend could handle everything, and even if he couldn't, you're there to help, right?" said the new guy encouragingly with a smile.

"You think so?" asked Wayo expectedly as he looked at the masterpiece.

"I'm sure. In case if you're friend's injury got issues, look for me here. I'm Phana Kongtanin, second-year medical student," said Phana as he offered his hands for a hand-shake.

"I'm Wayo, freshmen from science faculty," replied Wayo as he smiled back at Phana happily.

"Nice to meet you, nong. See you then," said Phana as he left Wayo there.

When he thought that the day couldn't get any better when he meets the masterpiece, destiny proved him wrong by letting him have a conversation with his crush. Wayo doesn't mind falling for someone nice like him.

When he snapped out of his happy bubble, he noticed that the sunset long ago.

'How did it get so late so soon?'

It's already seven-plus by the time Ming left the x-ray room.

'Seriously, what took them so long in there?'

Well, he didn't realize the time due to someone's company as well. So he can't blame Ming. Ming left the room with a bandage around his palm. After all the bill settlement, they both got back to Wayo's dorm.

Wayo arranged his stuff by the side table and ordered take-out for them.

"I'm ordering food for dinner, and I'm ordering my favorite sushi set," he announced the info rather than asked for an opinion.

"But, I don't want to eat sushi," said Ming. That's the first line he spoke since they left his faculty.

"Look....who speaks. I thought I'm handling a mute since just now," replied Wayo sarcastically.

"Yo...," whined Ming as he settled on Wayo's bed.

"Ohhh, you know my name too. How sweet, Mr. Stranger," Wayo commented with a fake surprised look.

Ming started to look down again, and he didn't say anything anymore. Wayo took a chair for himself and sat across Ming, facing him.

"Why and how?" he asked calmly.

"......," Ming remains quiet.

"You didn't do anything wrong, meng. Stop looking down and face me," added Wayo.

Ming lifted his head and stares at Wayo's eyes. They are staring back at him but, it doesn't carry any anger or frustration.

"I'm not your stupid uncle, Ming, or anybody that you faced before this. About your father, let's not talk about him. I'm not going to scold you for things that are not wholly your fault. You have to talk, meng. Don't be like this again. What happened to the crazy bastard who never admits his faults?" Wayo tried to enlighten him or try to make him talk, which it did.

"Yo..... it happened again. I broke my promise," replied Ming after a while.

"Hmmm," said Wayo as he let him continue.

"I could have stopped it, but I didn't. I tried not to fight back but punching that senior's face gave me an odd feeling of satisfaction. I didn't felt like stopping it until someone come to break us apart," answered Ming honestly.

"Now tell me why?" asked Wayo calmly again.

"That senior started it, and he..." Ming started to complain about that incident like a kid complaining about a stolen lollipop to his mother. Wayo listen to him calmly, but still, Ming didn't tell him the important part yet.

"Alright. Then why were you scared? Why didn't you face me at the faculty? Why did you sit there as you did five months ago?"

And that question stopped the hyper Ming, who was chatting non-stop just now. It seems like Wayo hit the bull's eye.

"Ca-cause, I felt like-like the time I hit up my uncle. Suddenly the senior's face seems like my uncle's face, and every terrible thing he did to us come back to me. It reminded me about P'San and the promise I made to her. It felt like I let down P'San all over again. What would people think about me now?" answered Ming dejectedly.

"If you say you felt like letting down P'San, I won't agree with that. She would have want you to beat the hell out of that senior too. About others, I don't even care. They don't know you, and they don't have the right to judge you," commented Wayo sincerely.

"........," Ming remains quiet again.

"Ming, past is past, and you can't change the past just by feeling guilty about it. You like it or not, It happened, and you can't change any part of it. The main part is...." Ming didn't allow him to continue as he said,

"I know.... that's why I felt scared. I don't want my anger to lead me to the same mistake I did. I can't lose anybody anymore" Ming's voice cracked at the end, but he hides it very well.

Ming has a stupid ego of never crying in front of anybody. Looking at him like this itself made Wayo feel damn bad.

'If one day I saw him cry because of any reason, I swear I'll kill that certain someone by myself,' thought Wayo as he patted Ming's shoulder as silent support.

"I understand, Ming. But don't worry. Nothing will happen. Those five months of therapies aren't for nothing. You can handle this, meng," Wayo did cheering actions to cheer him up and was glad that it works.

"Hmmm. I hope so too," Ming answered while smiling softly.

"Damn, I'm hungry. Because of this mess, I had to skip lunch and my evening study session," complained Wayo as he moved around his room to clean the mess he has made before.

"Khor Khun(Thank you), meng. Let's eat your favorite sushi," said Ming as he smiled at Wayo, who is now busy cleaning.

"I'll eat my sushi. I've ordered fried rice for you," replied Wayo.

"Ohhh, my meng being so sweet, na...," teased Ming as he stretched himself on Wayo's bed.

Soon their food arrived, and Ming cheered up a bit as he started to eat using his left hand. Well, his right hand is still in a bandage, and Wayo wonders when he can use it again.

We might seem young and rich with no worries and a bit spoiled, but trust me, we didn't have it easy. At least Ming didn't have it easy.

Have you heard about toxic parenting? That's what he got in his childhood with his father and uncle until his mother come back for them, which I consider as too late. He needed a friend, and I was there for him. I always will be.

"Oi, don't forget the medicine na," added Wayo as he eats his food.

"Ewhhh, you eat them. I hate it," replied Ming with a disgusted face.

"Seriously, I'm not the one who is injured, asshole. You have to finish it," Wayo took the tablets from their respective packs and gave them to Ming.

"Ming, why do you have a prescription for headache? Only your hand got hurt, right? or that senior hit your head too," questioned Wayo, a bit heated now.

'Well, I'm getting angry over here. Why don't these people talk rather than fighting?'

"Hmm. One of the seniors tried to do a backflip or something, which caused my head to bang hard on the floor," replied Ming casually.

"Hoii, then what happened?"

"Then I got back on my stand and punch straight on his nose," he answered with a proud smirk.

"Asshole Ming, what happens to your head?" Wayo repeats the question while scolding his stupid friend in different languages in his mind.

"Ohh, that, I had a terrible headache, but it submits slowly," added Ming.

"What the doctor said?"

"He got excited and checked my head and ask me to eat that medicine if my head hurts again."

"Did you hit your head so hard?

Doctors won't get excited. They get worried, Ming," replied Wayo, annoyed.

'Can I just hit him myself? His thinking skills are killing me.'

"Eh eh eh, whatever, I'll crash at your place tonight, meng. I'm tired. I think I broke some of my nails too...," said Ming as he made himself comfortable on Wayo's bed.

"Seriously, Ming, you worried about your broken nails? Did you forget that you got your hand wrapped in a bandage or, did you forget that you broke some of their noses and face too?" questioned Wayo, unamused as he cleaned after their meal.

"............." There was no reply from Ming.

"Oi... answer me, na," stated Wayo as he turned around to check his best friend, but Ming was already sleeping on Wayo's bed peacefully without any trace of his previous state.

'Sleep tight, meng. I know you're tired both mentally and physically. I know you need to let go. Everything will fall back to its place soon. ' thought Wayo as he continued what he was doing.
