Chapter Five
Windwing landed a few minutes after Wispiflower and looked at them. "I gave up. Mintbreeze is too crazy." He shook his head.
Rainblaze perked her ears. "Where is she now?"
Wispiflower gaped. "First explain what I'm seeing right now," she ordered, pointing with her wing at Rainblaze and Coperpool.
Rainblaze's eyes widened. "Uh- oh- um....." She looked at Coperpool. "Well Mapleglade and Junetree already know.."
"Yeah but I don't get it!" Wispiflower pointed out, bewildered.
Windwing nickered. "Coperblaze!"
"Is that it Coper?" Wispiflower asked curiously.
Coperpool turned slightly red, but stayed cool as he said, "Yes."
Rainblaze stood up. "Well, I'm going to the ocean for a swim."
Wispiflower, a bit confused by the sudden decision from Rainblaze, said uncertainly, "Okayyy..." She turned to Windwing. "Okay, that was a big surprise."
Windwing nodded his agreement.
Wispiflower asked warily, "So, where is Mintbreeze exactly?"
"Probably still at the caves," Windwing replied.
Mintbreeze landed right behind him. "Or maybe I'm not."
Wispiflower groaned.
"Uh," Coperpool said hurriedly, "I'm going with Rainblaze to the ocean!" Immediately, he went as fast as could to catch up with his mate.
Windwing started to walk away with his ears pinned. "Let's go with Rainblaze and Coperpool, Wispiflower."
Wispiflower stared at the mare for a second, then turned and nodded. "Okay."
Windwing waited for Wispiflower to go first, then kicked off after her.
Mintbreeze sighed and followed them.
Wispiflower wanted to break that mare's wing, but she held back the urge. "So we're going to the ocean right?"
Windwing nodded.
"Okay."
Wispiflower couldn't help making a quick glance at Mintbreeze. She glared at the stubborn mare, wishing she could break her that way.
Mintbreeze saw Wispiflower glaring at her and smirked.
Windwing slapped Wispiflower's wing with his. "Don't look."
Wispiflower's head snapped away. "Okay. You're right."
Mintbreeze flew up next to Windwing.
Wispiflower held back her rage and chatted with Rainblaze. "So, how long have you and Coperpool been mates?"
"Umm a moon or so I think," Rainblaze replied uncertainly.
Wispiflower's pregnancy stress and Mintbreeze stress began to get to her, but she bottled up the emotion. "Oh, okay."
Coperpool sensed her stress and flew over to Windwing, whispering, "I think this is really getting to Wispiflower, she's not lookin' too good."
Windwing nodded. "I know, I'm thinking of what to do."
Coperpool whispered back, "Just execute her."
Windwing shook his head. "I can't do that- it's against the rules. But, I can banish her."
Coperpool nodded. "That could work."
Windwing stopped suddenly. "If I banish her, she'll just come back. But, I can execute her for coming back." He whinnied to the group, "Let's go back to the Herd, I have an announcement."
Mintbreeze sighed and smiled. She talkd quietly to herself. "This is his time to say I'm now Mintcloud."
Wispiflower heard this, and cringed.
Junetree woke up from a full night of sleep. Seeing Mapleglade next to her, still asleep, she didn't want to wake him so she snuggled next to him unttil he stirred. "Morning sleepy head!"
Mapleglade half opened his eyes. "Go back to sleep." He laid his head back on the ground and dozed off once more.
Junetree sighed. "Why did I mate such a lazy stallion again?"
Mapleglade shrugged. "Why did I become the mate of such a morning pegasus?"
Junetree rolled her eyes. "I only woke up because you kicked me!"
Mapleglade snorted. "Yeah right." He rolled over and fell asleep again easily.
Junetree sighed, nuzzled him, and went back to sleep also.
Mapleglade purposely kicked her in the leg and nickered with his eyes still closed. Junetree's eyes fluttered open, and she kicked him back, then got up. "Well, I'm ready to be up now!"
Mapleglade flinched and opened his eyes. "This is the farthest I'm gonna get in getting up."
Junetree rolled her eyes again. "I'm going to go graze with the Herd."
Mapleglade perked his ears. "Okay never mind food is more important than sleep." He got up and stretched, then bolted into the sky, nickering.
Junetree nickered. "I figured!" She bolted after him.
Mapleglade flew quickly and landed in front of some pegasi. He nickered and plunged into the sweet grass. Junetree landed gracefully in the meadow beside him and took a big mouthful of grass as well.
Wispiflower dragged Rainblaze toward land and yelled over her shoulder, "One second, I need to talk to Rainblaze!" She dragged her the rest of the way to the ground, then exploded. "That mare is getting on my nerves big time!" She sat on her haunches. "All I want is for her to go poof one day and NEVER come back!" Wispiflower looked at her ever-so-slightly swollen belly. "I can't deal with all of this at once!" With that, she plopped on the ground, sobbing softly.
Rainblaze snorted. "You're not the only one who wants to get rid of her." She pinned her ears. "I'll execute her myself if I have to."
Wispiflower got up and sat on her haunches again. "Okay, that's good to know." She wiped away her tears. "Sorry about that, I think it's that extra stress you get when you're with foal."
Rainblaze nodded. "That's okay."
Wispiflower thought for a moment. "Hey, are Junetree and her mate here or back with the Herd? I haven't seen them in a while."
"I think she and Mapleglade are back with the Herd, hopefully."
"I need to talk to them, now," Wispiflower said urgently.
Rainblaze nodded. "I'll go tell Coperpool and Windwing where we are going." She flew up to the stallions.
"Okay," Wispiflower replied.
Rainblaze whispered to Coperpool, "Wispiflower and I have to talk to Mapleglade and Junetree, we'll be back soon."
Wispiflower kicked off and flew up next to Rainblaze. "It'll only take a few minutes."
"Why do you need to talk to them anyway?" Coperpool inquired. He quickly realized that it was probably for a break from Mintbreeze. "Never mind, go ahead."
Rainblaze nuzzled him and flew towards the Herd.
Wispiflower made a quick 'don't you dare do anything' look at Mintbreeze, then flew beside Rainblaze all the way back to the Herd.
Mintbreeze rolled her eyes and turned to Coperpool. "Do you mind? I would like to talk to Windwing alone."
Coperpool practically growled, "Yes I do mind!'
Windwing snorted. "And there's no way I'm staying here with you alone." He whispered to Coperpool, "How do you think we can get rid of her?"
Coperpool whisper-yelled, "Eliminate her."
Mintbreeze perked her ears. "Eliminate who?"
Windwing bared his teeth. "You." He whispered to Coperpool, "I'll banish her first, and if she comes back then I'll execute her."
Wispiflower landed in the grazing meadow of Prairie Herd, and quickly spotted Junetree and Mapleglade. She trotted over. "Guys, can I talk to you?"
Coperpool nodded his head in total approval. "Sounds good!"
Mapleglade perked his ears. "Sure."
Windwing nodded also and he raised his voice. "Mintbreeze, filly of Darkcloud and Stormwing, you are banished from Prairie Herd. If you return, I will execute you for disobeying."
"Good job," Coperpool congratulated.
Mintbreeze gasped and looked at Windwing with pleading eyes. "Are you serious?"
Windwing nodded. "Leave. Now."
Coperpool clapped. "Great job. She was getting on EVERYONE'S nerves."
"It's about Mintbreeze again," Wispiflower said, finally glancing at Junetree, and her eyes widened. "Actually, Junetree can I quickly tell you something?"
"Ummm, sure," Junetree replied quizzically, following Wispiflower to a private spot.
Mapleglade looked at Rainblaze. "What do you think Windwing will do?"
Rainblaze shrugged. "He better do something."
Windwing bowed. "Thank you!"
Mintbreeze pinned her ears. "Executed or not, I will be back."
Whether that was true or not, the mare flew away quickly.
Coperpool clapped even more. "BRAVO!!!"
Windwing nickered. "Let's go tell the others."
Coperpool bobbed his head up and down. "Okay!"
Windwing nickered again and flew towards the Herd.
Wispiflower stopped not far away from the others, but just out of earshot. "You're getting plump."
Junetree gasped at the seeming insult. "I am not!"
Wispiflower nickered. "It's the truth though! And seems to me like you were practically starved this morning yet you ate your normal amount!"
Junetree sat on her haunches. "What does that have to do with Mintbreeze?"
"Nothing," Wispiflower replied simply.
Coperpool followed alongside Windwing, and they quickly saw Mapleglade and Rainblaze. Windwing looked around. "Where is Wispiflower?"
Coperpool looked closer. "And where is Junetree?"
"They are talking somewhere," Mapleglade explained.
Meanwhile, Junetree asked, "Then why are you talking about this?"
"No reason..." Wispiflower mumbled.
Junetree rolled her eyes. "Just tell me."
Wispiflower paused. "Are you with foal?"
"WHAT?!?!" Junetree screeched. "Why would you ask that?!?!?!?!!!!"
"I already explained that," Wispiflower replied calmly.
Junetree suddenly felt light headed. "Why would I be with foal? HOW would I be with foal?! Mapleglade and I didn't try for it!!"
"Sometimes it happens in your sleep..." Wispiflower tried desperately.
"But—"
"Have you been having cramps?"
"Yeah," Junetree confessed. "Ever since the morning after the second time Mapleglade and I slept together..." She trailed off.
"There!" Wispiflower said, relieved to have any solid proof. "That must be it!!!"
Junetree paled. "Are you sure?"
Wispiflower was too filled with glee to notice her friend's complexion. "Posotive!"
Rainblaze looked at the stallions. "I'm gonna go talk to Wispiflower and Junetree." She found them relatively quickly. "What are you two talking about?"
Wispiflower looked at Junetree. Alarmed, and not wanting to tell ANYONE, Junetree said, "Nothing!"
Wispiflower got it in time to jump in with, "Yeah, just a weird un-topic-related thing."
Rainblaze rolled her eyes and nickered. "You guys are crazy."
Wispiflower nickered as well. "We'll tell you at some point, when Junetree is ready."
Rainblaze nickered again. "Okay."
"In other words, not any time soon," Junetree emphasized.
Rainblaze nodded and nickered again. "Well, Windwing, Coperpool and Mapleglade are wondering where you guys are. They have some good news."
"Oh, okay," Wispiflower, uncertain of how to feel about this news. All the same, she was curious, so she followed Rainblaze, and Junetree followed Wispiflower.
Coperpool nickered. "Mares take forever when they start chatting!"
Mapleglade nickered as well. "No kidding."
Not even a second later, Wispiflower practically ran into Windwing in her rush. "What's the news?!"
Windwing nickered and put his wings on Wispiflower's back. "Calm down!"
"I know, I know," Wispiflower said, nickering as well. "Just tell me!"
Mapleglade nickered excitedly. "Windwing banished Mintbreeze! She left."
"YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!!!" Junetree yelled ecstatically.
Windwing nodded happily.
Wispiflower looked at him with a smile spreading over her face. "Really?"
Rainblaze nickered. "Yep!"
Mean while, Racewind nuzzled Mintbreeze. "If I can't have Wispiflower and you can't have Windwing, we may as well have each other."
Mintbreeze shrugged. "I still want Windwing, but I guess." As she agreed to be his mate, she purposely didn't tell him the plan.
"I guess I really didn't think you'd do it since her sire and dam started the Herd!" Wispiflower admitted.
Windwing shrugged. "Even if she's the daughter of the former leaders I can still banish her, she deserves it."
Wispiflower patted him on the shoulder. "You definitely did the right thing."
Mapleglade and Rainblaze nodded in agreement.
Windwing bowed. "Thank you."
"Okay too much," said Coperpool. "Back to our slightly normal daily lives now!"
Mapleglade nickered. "Guess what?"
"What?" Wispiflower asked curiously, and Coperpool and Junetree chimed in with their own.
Mapleglade tagged Wispiflower. "You're it!" He ran quickly and took flight, nickering.
Rainblaze squealed and flew up into the sky.
"Ugh, why me?" Wispiflower half groaned. Choosing her target quickly, she flew up, chasing Mapleglade.
Mapleglade whinnied, "You were the closest to me!"
"C'mon Windwing!" Junetree yelled. "C'mon bro!" He beckoned to them as she flew on up to join in.
Windwing rolled his eyes, but flew into the sky nickering.
"Oh SURE," Wispiflower called sarcastically. she caught up quickly and tagged him before he even saw her coming. "HA! You're it!!"
Mapleglade snorted and chased after Junetree, quickly tagging her, nickering. "Now you're it!"
Junetree nickered and tagged Windwing. "Get your bro back for me will ya?"
Windwing nodded eagerly, snuck up to Mapleglade, and rammed him out of the sky.
"Hey!" Mapleglade cried as he fell out of the sky, but he regained his wings. "I'll get you back for that later!" Quickly, he chased after Coperpool.
Windwing nickered.
"Thanks!" Junetree called to Windwing, nickering as she watche her brother get tagged after a minute or so. "Rainblaze! Get Rainblaze!!"
Rainblaze squealed again and bolted into the forest. Coperpool nickered and chased her in. Finally, he tagged Rainblaze after going pretty deep. "Gotcha!"
Rainblaze tagged him back. "Not for long!"
Coperpool grabbed her wing. "Not so fast!"
Rainblaze lost her balance and crashed on the ground nickering. Coperpool got dragged down with her and landed with a thump on the ground, nickering as well. "I can arrange a way for you to not get tagged by me again since I obviously would."
Rainblaze nickered and stood up quickly and ran out of the forest. "I'm not taking any chances!" She burst out and took flight. "Coperpool's it!"
Mapleglade nickered and flew away from the forest.
Coperpool rolled his eyes, and tagged Junetree. "You're it sister!"
"Hey!" Junetree whined. "No fair!"
Wispiflower nickered as she landed. "It's getting a little late to be playing. Plus, I'm pooped."
Windwing nickered also and landed beside Wispiflower. "I'm done."
Coperpool also landed. "I'm done too."
Rainblaze collapsed on the ground. "Same."
"I guess I'm done to," Junetree said, plopping on the ground.
Second moon of Wispiflower and Junetree's pregnancy.
Wispiflower slept after playing the game, but right before she drifted off she realized she'd been with foal for two moons that night.
Junetree, meanwhile, was feeling guilty about keeping her pregnancy secret, but she really didn't want anyone to know that she was with foal because she thought it was too embarrassing and attention-drawing. She looked at Mapleglade, then felt even more guilty. "Mapleglade..." She started to tell him, then stopped.
Mapleglade perked his ears. "Were ya gonna say something?"
"No, never mind. Forget it."
Mapleglade nodded suspiciously.
"WHAT?!?!" Junetree demanded.
Meanwhile, Mintbreeze flew high in the sky and looked down, watching Windwing and Wispiflower, hoping she'd leave.
Down below, Wispiflower coughed from dehydration. "I'm gonna go get some water."
"Okay," Windwing replied as his mate flew to the lake not far away.
Mintbreeze nickered and flew down behind Windwing.
Junetree pretended to be asleep, but whispered to Mapleglade who was right next to her, "Why did SHE come?!"
Mapleglade looked over and fell over, pretending to die.
Junetree rolled her eyes. "Same question Mapleglade, why do you think SHE is here again?!"
Suddenly, she clapped her wings over her mouth. "I'll be right back. Tell me everything they say Mapleglade!"
Mapleglade nodded.
"Thank you." Silently. Junetree trotted toward Rainblaze. she snuck up behind Rainblaze, waited a second, then yelled, "BOO!!"
Rainblaze jumped three feet up in the air and squealed. "Hey!" She snorted. "Not funny."
Junetree laughed. "YES funny!" She paused a second before continuing in a furious whisper, "Anyway, guess who is here AGAIN?"
Rainblaze snorted again. "Who?" She pinned her ears, instantly knowing who. "What does Mintbreeze want now? I thought she was banned!"
"Yes she was!" Junetree agreed heatedly. "Mapleglade is spying for me while I tell you something else..."
Rainblaze nodded.
".....I'm still not sure if I want to tell anyone," Junetree mumbled. "Like, I want to tell you but I don't want to tell you. You know?" She rolled her eyes at herself. "I'll just say it. I'm with foal, no joke."
Rainblaze's eyes widened. "Seriously?"
Junetree stomped her hoof. "I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE SERIOUS IN MY LIFE!" She took a deep breath. "Sorry, I blew again. As I'm sure you've noticed I do that a lot." She paused a second before saying, "One catch to this: you cannot tell Mapleglade, because he would freak out and wouldn't let me have any fun." She shuddered at the thought.
Rainblaze nodded, still a bit shocked. "Okay."
"Good.... Wellllllll...." Junetree was discomforted by the awkward silence. "Ummmmm... I'll be leaving noww... To find Wispiflower."
Wispiflower, meanwhile, was still trying to kill her thirsty cough. But no matter how hard she tried, the cough wouldn't leave.
"Hey Wispiflower," Junetree said softly, touching down beside her.
Wispiflower lifted her head from the water. "Oh hi." She coughed a little. "I think I caught a cold."
Coperpool heard Mintbreeze from his pricked ears and silently got up, trotting over to be chaperone. "Why are you here? Aren't you going to get executed now?"
Windwing pinned his ears. "You know the rules, Mintbreeze. Stand down and leave or I have no choice."
Mintbreeze stood tall, apparently unafraid. "Windwing, I'm with your foal."
Coperpool gaped. "You're desperate!" Suddenly, he realized the possible weight of the claim. "Wait... You're not serious are you?"
Mintbreeze nickered. "Why would I be kidding about something like that? I'm Windwing's mate, Coperpool. Can't you see that?"
"Nope. I don't see it," Coperpool said flatly.
Rainblaze nickered. "Mintcloud? How does that even sound right?"
"Do you read thoughts or something?" Coperpool asked his mate with a smile.
"Maybe," Rainblaze replied. "But I think it's common sense to know something like that."
Mintbreeze pinned her ears. "Windwing, let's go. I need to talk to you alone."
"No WAY that's happening," Coperpool intervened. "I'm now your official chaperone. Windwing, do you approve of this plan?"
Windwing snorted. "Not really. Coperpool, come with us. I'll lead the way." He started walking into the forest.
"So I can chaperone?" Coperpool clarified.
Windwing nodded.
Mintbreeze snorted. "I don't approve to that."
"You know," said Coperpool, "I don't really care what you approve of Mintbreeze."
Mintbreeze bared her teeth at him and followed Windwing.
Coperpool reluctantly followed behind Mintbreeze. "Can Mapleglade come too?" Really, he was just saying it to mess with Mintbreeze, but he was hopeful that Windwing might say yes.
"We don't need Mapleglade here too," Mintbreeze snapped.
Windwing ignored her. "Sure."
Coperpool was grateful. "Thank you, Windwing." He trotted over to the fake-sleeping Mapleglade. "Windwing said you can come and chaperone— I mean watch. Also, I heard Junetree tell you to spy for her, so here's your chance."
Mintbreeze watched Coperpool leave and quickly dragged Windwing away. "I need to talk to you in private!" She whispered in his ear, "I'm with your foal. Aren't you proud?"
Mapleglade looked at Coperpool. "Sure."
Coperpool heard them trot away and quietly dragged Mapleglade with him to investigate.
Mapleglade pinned his ears. "Why is Mintbreeze here anyways?"
"Take a guess," Coperpool said almost darkly.
Mapleglade snorted. "I don't even want to know now. But shouldn't she be executed?"
"Ugh, she's saying she's with Windwing's foal," Coperpool explained with a moan. "He won't execute her until he finds out she's telling the truth. I mean, he wouldn't kill his own foal or the mother."
Mapleglade's eyes widened. "Windwing believes her? Has he gone crazy?! Besides, he isn't even her mate!"
Windwing pinned his ears. "What are you talking about? You aren't with my foal! Mintbreeze, just leave. You know the rules."
"I know. And... I need to say something about Junetree..." Coperpool continued to Mapleglade. "I think she's been spending some time with Shadowquake.."
"Why would I joke about that?" Mintbreeze questioned. "Besides, you wouldn't execute your own foal and mate."
"Exactly," Windwing agreed coldly. "I would never execute Wispiflower or our foal. But I wouldn't care if I executed you!"
Mapleglade perked his ears. "Shadowquake?"
"This guy is smart," Coperpool whispered.
"Why would Junetree be with someone like him?" Mapleglade asked.
"Ummmm," said Coperpool uncertainly, "I don't know.. She never tells me anything."
Rainblaze walked up to Coperpool and Mapleglade. "If Windwing wasn't smart, he wouldn't be over-stallion." She looked at Coperpool. "Who are you talking about?"
"Uhhhh... Shadowquake and Junetree," Coperpool replied.
Rainblaze slapped her face with a wing. "Junetree wouldn't be his mate! Shadowquake is more like a brother to her than a mate."
Coperpool rolled his eyes. "I'm her ONLY brother."
Rainblaze nodded and looked at Mapleglade. "Don't worry, Junetree isn't with him."
"Wellll," Coperpool said, trying to drag out the word as long as possible, "I dunno................. Let's just listen to this crazy mare who says she's with Windwing's foal for now."
Rainblaze and Mapleglade nodded.
"I'm your mate," Mintbreeze insisted. "And I have your foal."
Windwing reared, towering over Mintbreeze. "Leave!!! Get out of here and just leave!!!"
"Did I mention that he's smart?" Coperpool whispered to his fellow onlookers. Mapleglade nickered in agreement.
"I wonder when she'll be scooting?" Coperpool pondered aloud.
"Hopefully soon," Mapleglade commented gruffly.
Mintbreeze snorted and looked at Windwing. "You'll regret your mistakes." With that, she turned and flew away into the night.
Windwing sighed and pinned his ears. "She'll be back."
Coperpool slowly came out of the bushes. "She definitely will. Sadly."
"I don't know what to do with her," Windwing said wearily. "First she claims that I promised to be her mate, then she says she's with my foal.. it's ridiculous."
"I think there's one solution: execute her," Coperpool said.
"Please," Rainblaze pleaded. "Just get rid of her."
Windwing pawed the ground. "If she comes back, then I will."
"What? Oh no! I hope you're not sick! What could happen to the foal?" Junetree asked, starting to count off things.
"Okay okay I get it," Wispiflower interrupted. "Nothing is going to happen." Unfortunately, she didn't really believe her own words. "...Right?"
"Thank you!" said Coperpool. "She is starting to get to be like a sickness!"
"No kidding," Rainblaze mumbled.
"Uh.. let's just go back to the others if you finished drinking," Junetree said.
"Yeah, okay." Wispiflower quickly took one last drink of water before saying, "Okay, let's go."
"Okay." Junetree trotted with Wispiflower back to the main field. "Where'd they go?"
"They're over there," Wispiflower said, walking over to the group. "Hey, what are you guys doing up? I thought it was just me and Junetree who couldn't sleep?"
Windwing shrugged, not knowing if he should tell her about Mintbreeze or not. "We had a situation."
Wispiflower's brow furrowed. "What kind of situation?"
"As lead-mare she has the right to know..." Coperpool pointed out.
Windwing knew it was true. "Mintbreeze came back. She says that she's with my foal. When I know she isn't."
Wispiflower breathed in, because at that moment the air got knocked out of her. "Why does she have to be so annoying?"
"I don't know," said Windwing, "but she is."
"Yeah I know." Wispiflower sniffled for the same reason she had the cough. "Um, can everyone leave for a second? I want a second with Windwing."
"Sure," said Junetree and Coperpool.
Rainblaze and Mapleglade perked their ears, but nodded. "Okay," they said as they walked away.
"I know this is really silly," Wispiflower began quietly, "but I need time too. If Mintbreeze isn't important to you, then you wouldn't spend so much time all about her. I almost believe her lie this time."
Windwing's eyes widened. "How could you believe her? I'm the stallion, and I know she's not with my foal!"
"Who knows, you could be lying too!" Wispiflower burst out, the stress from everything and everyone finally exploding.
Windwing pinned his ears. "Ask the others. See what they believe."
"This isn't about them, this is about you and me."
Windwing stomped his hoof and kinda became a smart mouth. "Are you sick?"
"No!" Wispiflower cried indignantly, not wanting to admit it as true. "If I am sick then I'm sick of hearing about Mintbreeze all the time!"
"I'm sick of her as much as you are Wispiflower! I don't love her! I'm not her mate, she's not mine. Mintbreeze may be with foal, but not mine! Who knows what she could've done, she could be with some other stallion's foal and tries to claim that it's mine!" Windwing said, without realizing how true it sounded.
"Whatever you say, smart guy." With that, Wispiflower cantered away, realizing she just did something really stupid.
Windwing snorted and cantered in the other direction into the forest.
Junetree joined Wispiflower. "Why did you ask us to leave? Were you privately telling him you're sick?"
Wispiflower was still a little out of her head. "I'm not telling him anything ever again. He's a liar."
Junetree was very confused. "What?"
"I..." Finally, Wispiflower got her head back, and started crying.
"Did you have a...... a fight?" Junetree asked.
"Y-yeah," Wispiflower replied through the tears. "A really silly one."
Rainblaze trotted up to Wispiflower and Junetree. "What happened??"
Mapleglade secretly followed his brother into the forest and watched him.
Windwing lowered his head and sighed, regretting what he said to Wispiflower.
"Wispiflower said they had a silly fight," Junetree explained.
Wispiflower sobbed, "I don't even know why I did that.."
Rainblaze put her wing on Wispiflower's back. "Maybe you're just stressed out!"
"My mom was a medicine mare," said Junetree. "I think you have a rare decease that includes head aches, coffing, a slight case of the sniffles, and angry outbursts. If not healed it could kill you, and the foal."
Coperpool secretly listened to the whole thing between the mares, and went to tell Windwing.
Windwing perked his ears and heard someone coming.
"Windwing, there's something I need to tell you about Wispiflower," said Coperpool.
"What's wrong?" asked Windwing.
"She's sick," he explained. "And it's supposed to get really bad."
Windwing was taken aback. "Wispiflower?"
