Prove Me Wrong
'I, oh yeah I believe in love
And I hope I can show you
What I mean
And I don't believe love's for me
So won't you come around
And prove me wrong.'
~Tyler Joseph
This chapter is a bit odd as most of the different POV's are pretty much around the same time. I'll put a reminder next to the POV changes but keep that in mind whilst reading ;)

It was nearly morning, the sun was peaking through the cheap hotel curtains as I sit there in silence, with Chris asleep next to me.
Phil insisted we take the room because he couldn't leave Dan alone. I didn't blame him for wanting to keep an eye on Dan; he did get blackout drunk and has been sleeping for who knows how long.
I saw a slight movement out of my peripheral vision and turned to see Chris sitting up and yawning. "How long have you been up?" He asked sleepily.
"About an hour."
"You could've waken me, you spoon." He said laughing. "Have you just been sitting there the whole time?"
"I made coffee." I replied, gesturing towards the coffee pot on the small countertop. "Its kinda gross...I don't recommend drinking it."
"Are you okay?" Chris turned back to look at me, "You just seen kind of...I don't know, sad."
"I'm just thinking." I told him.
"About what?"
"Everything."
"Hey," Chris pulled my chin to face him. Our eyes met and my heart leapt. I wondered how long that would keep happening when I looked at him. I liked it. "Everything is gonna be fine, alright?"
I sighed, forcing a slight uneven smile onto my lips. "Yeah, I know. You're right."
Then he kissed me and my heart did that little flippy-over thing. We'd kissed before, it's not like it was our first time. But it felt like it. The way that, as cliché as it sounds, fireworks actually seemed to go off behind my eyelids. I wondered if he felt the same way. I wondered if it would always feel like this. I hoped so.
We pulled away for a second and looked at each other seriously before both of us burst out laughing. "I love you." I said seriously.
"I love you too." He said. Both of us smiled for a second as Chris wrapped his hands around my neck and pulled me on tøp of him. It was me who initiated the kiss that time. Chris' fingers slithered into my hair as I ran my hands down his back while we kissed much rougher than before.

Dan (the same time as Pj's POV)
I slowly opened my eyes, feeling like I was stuck in molasses. My head was pounding and my stomach cramped at even the slightest of movements. My whole body was overtaken by coughs that made it sound like I was dying, which only made my headache even worse.
"Dan? Hey, are you okay?" A voice said, standing over me. I could barely open my eyes because the coughs were sending painful shockwaves to my brain and the overly bright sun was burning my eyes.
"Phil?" I managed to choke out after I finished my coughing fit. "How did you-"
"It doesn't matter." He said, cutting me off. "Are you okay? What's wrong?"
"I just...my head hurts." I replied, probably sounding like a baby.
"Do you need some paracetamol? I can run downstairs to the gift shop, see if they have any?"
"No, you don't have to do that I'm fine." I said, trying to sit up in the least painful way possible. "How did you find me?"
"We um...we tracked your phone."
I looked at him appalled, "You did what?" I never should've answered the phone. I shouldn't have stayed on the phone for that long.
"I had to find you Dan!" He looked extremely hurt, and for the first time I saw the dark circles under his eyes, the messy hair, and bloodshot eyes.
"You were really worried?" I asked sheepishly.
"Of course I was worried! You're my best friend and you just disappeared without telling anyone!" He said as if it were obvious. "I...I couldn't lose you." He sat down in a cushy chair beside the bed.
I looked down at my lap, trying not to focus on my pounding headache and nauseating stomach pain. "I'm sorry." I said, still looking down, a tear spilling down my cheek. "I never should've done that, never should've left and made you so worried."
"You don't have to apologise." He told me in a soft voice, getting out of the chair and sitting next to me. "I just wish you would've come to me before you up and left."
I closed my eyes, trying to stop the tears from falling out. 'You're being such a baby' I told myself. 'Stop crying you idiot.'
Phil lifted up my chin and wiped away a tear with his thumb. "Shhh, hey everything's okay." He coaxed, pulling me into his soft embrace. We sat there for about a minute with Phil stroking my back and me clinging onto him like a child.
Both of us flinched as Phil's phone started ringing loudly, '13:00' displayed across the screen. "I was gonna go down to Chris and Pj's room to wake them if they weren't up by now." He said, explaining why he had an alarm on.
He let go of me while he turned off the alarm. I should've known that they'd be here as well, considering Peej was the one I'd spoken to on the phone. "I'll go with you." I told him, my voice still slightly shaky from crying.
"Alright, let me just text them to say we're going in case they are awake." Phil stood up, typing out something on his phone and grabbing a keycard off the counter, motioning me to come with him.

Chris (continuation of Pj's POV)
I heard a noise come from my phone on the dresser but ignored it, assuming it was just a YouTube or Instagram notification. "Do you need to get that?" Peej asked, breaking his lips away from mine.
"No, it's probably nothing." I said, pulling him back down on top of me. We were both so content with what we were doing that neither of us heard the door open.
"Well this is new." A voice said from the doorway. Pj quickly moved off of me and we both looked up to see Dan and Phil standing there.
I could feel the heat rising up to my cheeks, assuming Peej was as red as me. "Knew it." Dan said, holding his hand out. "You owe me."
I looked between the two of them as the scene was playing out in front of me. "Wait. You...bet on us?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, on the way down we started talking about what you two could possibly be doing at 1 in the afternoon that like wouldn't answer the phone, as no one sleeps in this late." Phil explained. "Dan said you were probably making out or having sex."
"Yeah and Phil thought you were just 'watching a movie' and had your phones on silent. I guess there are two kinds of people in the world." Dan said, laughing as Phil handed him a £5 note.
"Wow, thanks guys." Pj said sarcastically. "And why didn't you knock?"
"We did" they said in unison. Then Phil added "For about two minutes straight."
"So how are you feeling?" I asked Dan, desperately trying to change the subject.
"Oh, uh...I'm fine. Now." He said with a small, forced smile. I wasn't gonna push him to talk about something he didn't want to but...I could tell Dan was most certainly not fine.
