Chapter twenty-one

DAISY

I sat back in my original seat; the passenger seat, trying hard not to give into Jason's smothering gaze.

"When I get the answer right, don't say it's wrong. Then what would the point be?" Jason stated, raising a brow.

I nodded in confirmation. I wasn't a cheater. It made me feel bad.

"Okay, so I'll start..."

"Go ahead, I'm waiting to get that kiss."

"Pfft, as if you'll know anything about me." I scoffed.

"Don't underestimate me, Daisy. Besides, you're very predictable." He smirked, twirling his car keys in his fingers.

I gasped, feeling hurt. "I am not predictable! Just watch how you lose."

"Indenial also, but hey, no one's counting your flaws."

I slapped his arm in defense.

"Shut up."

"You're so cute."

"I said shut up. Unless you don't want to start I'm more than happy to ignore this."

"No, wait. I won't make any more remarks. You can start." he looked like he was suppressing a laugh, I wanted to slap him again.

"Okay. What is my favourite colour?" I decided to start off easily, feeling bad for his upcoming loss.

"Pink, purple or peach?"

"Pink, obviously. I'm not that stupid." he rolled his eyes.

I ignored his comment. "Correct. Uhm... Who do I prefer, Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh or Barbie?"

"Not Winnie, he's way too old school and you're more modern fashioned. Not Barbie, because she's all about pink and you were probably expecting me to pick her, so I'm guessing Mickey. He never goes out of fashion and knowing you, you're probably obsessed with him."

I gaped at him like a fish. The arrogance that was laying low was now rolling off of him in waves. I kept my face neutral, even though I was sure my jaw dropped miles on the floor.

"Correct," I choked out.

"Shocked, Angel?" He asked cockily, leaning forward. I gulped and shook my head, not being able to talk. "Just so you know, if I get four more right, I get to kiss you for thirty seconds. And if I get all right, two minutes."

I gaped. "That was not the deal!" I exclaimed, bewildered.

"Well it is now. You're not the only one who get to make rules. Now moving on."

"Jackass..." I grumbled.

"What was that?"

"Nothing. How may siblings do I have? One, four or two?"

"Two."

"That's not fair!"

"What? That I'm right. You're just a sore loser, babe." He laughed deeply.

"I'm gonna crank up the heat. I won't allow you to be correct anymore." I scowled. "What do I do in my free time; read a book, listen to music or browse the Internet?"

"Read a book."

I gritted my teeth. "Correct. What do I do when I'm feeling lonely or depressed; socialise with people, go on a shopping spree or eat ice cream and watch sad and sappy movies."

He took a moment to answer, all the while his huge grin intensified. "Eating ice cream is so typical and even though you are the most cliché and typical person I know, you wouldn't do that because you hate being alone and you talk way too much. Going on a shopping spree would be unnecessary since you have enough clothes to last a century. So you socialise with people. Simple."

I sighed in defeat. There was no way I could beat this guy. How was he able to know me so well?

"Correct. Every teenager goes through a weird phase when they're about fourteen years old. What phase have I went through; an emo phase, a vegetarian phase or an ignore everyone and everything type of phase?"

"Vegetarian. You don't suit emo at all and you're way too kind to ignore anyone."

There was no hope for me. My subconscious reminded me that I would have an excuse to kiss him if he won, and I knew that I would enjoy that very much.

"Correct. Why had I decided to leave... Uhm," Could I lied and said London? "My old town; because I was scared of something, because I wanted a change of scenery or because I disliked everyone?"

"You wanted a change of scenery..." He said unsurely.

"Correct. There's no point anymore. You have already gotten seven out of ten correct." My shoulders slumped in disappointment. I was ninety-nine point nine percent sure that I was going to win.

"That was fun." Jason stated. By now that wicked glint was shining in his eyes. He knew what he would get if he won; a kiss from me.

"How did you know what I like to do in my free time? We didn't exactly live together long enough for you to know."

"When I was young I was taught to study people's behavioural patterns, it was good for future reference. And it's especially handy in the gang life." He answered.

"That's cool." I said in amazement.

"It is."

"Yep." I muttered, suddenly feeling awkward.

"Don't be shy, Daisy. It's just me. And this is not the first time I'm getting to kiss you. Two minutes that's all." he smiled wickedly and reached over to grab my arm. I squeaked in surprised and resisted by holding tightly onto the doors handle.

"Wait!" I exclaimed in a rush, my heart bouncing in my rib cage. Admittedly, I was scared to be kissed by Jason when we were absolutely alone. Only God knows what may or may not happen. I personally felt that two minutes to Jason meant a whole different thing.

"Why don't you ask me a question about yourself quickly?" He looked just about ready to object so I quickly added, "Just one question and if I get it wrong you can have another minute."

Oh greatness what had my mouth become! It has absolutely zero filter.

"That sounds awesome actually. I'll take it."

His green eyes were shining brightly in amusement. His angular jaw was clenched tightly but not because of anger, because that was his amazingly unique posture. The sudden movement of his tongue swiped across his bottom lip, wetting it. I shuddered in delight thinking about kissing those lips. For what ever reason I was resisting this was so completely beyond me.

"What do I want to do most in this very moment,"

I gulped. I knew he would do something like this. He never revealed anything about himself. I had no idea where he came from, where he lived before this, who his parents were, how he earned the gang leader status or about any records of his. Being the little stalker I was, I have searched him on every social media application I had, and he wasn't found anywhere. I didn't know what he did in his free time or who he did...

Okay, that was a disturbing thought.

"Kiss you till your lips are red, get to about last base with you or, fuck you?"

The darkening of his eyes told me he wasn't playing around. His fists were clenched tightly causing the veins in his forearms to pop. This caused waves of different feelings to pass through me. My stomach was a jumble of nerves and my palms sweaty.

"The first one." I whispered, not wanting to repeat any of his words.

"Wrong. The answer is all of them."

My eyes widened. That was so unfair.

That was my last thought before I was roughly pulled onto his lap for the second time. He quickly adjusted his seat slightly to the back, before pulling my head close to his.

"Don't be scared. I won't hurt you." His hand cupped my face and he used his thumb to cares my bottom lip. My entire body was shivering in fear. Fear of embarrassing myself and fear of not being able to stop myself from really wanting this.

Slowly, gently his lips touched mine in a feather kiss. My eyes closed the moment I felt his lips touch mine. It was a small kiss, but I felt it. I definitely felt it.

"Please respond to me this time. The last three times you were immobile while I kissed you. It was extremely frustrating." He said, keeping an iron grip on my waist. The steering wheel barely touched my back. This position was more comfortable than I'd have liked to admit.

"I'll try. But I don't know how." I admitted, feeling embarrassment creep up my neck.

"Just move your lips with mine. It's very simple. Can you do that?"

"I'll try." I replied nervously.

Without warning, Jason softly pressed his lips on mine. His lips were soft and warm, but I could feel the coldness of his lip ring against mine. As if sensing it, he suddenly pulled away.

"Is it bothering you?"

"What?" I asked, in a daze.

"The lip ring. Is it bothering you?"

He thought it was bothering me? In fact, it made eveything so much more hotter I could barely breath. The coldness outside suddenly felt needed as the car started heating up at a fast speed. But it wasn't the car heating up. It was me.

"Not at all." I cleared my throat awkwardly.

"Good." With a smirk, he pressed his lips back onto mine, this time with more force than before. I closed my eyes feeling my heart beat erratically. I followed his instructions and moved my lips along with his.

A warm feeling filled the pit of my stomach. It was probably delight, and anxiousness. I was feeling absolutely contrasted with my feelings. There was doubt, self consciousness. But also confidence and pleasure. The feeling was so unreal; I've never felt anything like it before. Was this the feeling you got when you kissed someone? Or was this the feeling you got when you kissed Jason?

He hands roamed up and down my back, applying pressure to it and keeping me firmly in place. His hands felt rough and large against my back, causing me to sigh into the kiss as the secure feeling he was giving me. I leaned closer towards him and wrapped my arms around his neck, using my hands to traced my thumbs against the base of his neck. His tongue darted out and licked against my lips, causing my lips to part. He took it as the opportunity to let his tongue roam my mouth, causing me to gasp into the kiss. I never knew that kissing could feel this good.

I grew excited and suddenly, by accident bit his lips. He pulled away and hissed.

"Fuck," he cussed, his hand coming up to feel the sore spot.

My hands flew to my mouth in shock. "Oh my god, Jason, I'm so sorry!" I said in embarrassment.

He chuckled and licked his lip. "Don't worry about it."

"Oh god, I'm so stupid! Did I hurt you?" I asked in worry.

He grabbed my wrists gently and pulled me closer once again, bringing my hands around his neck. "I said," he gripped my jaw gently and pulled by face closer to his. "Not to worry." He kissed the side of my face before trailing lingering kisses all the way past my jaw and to my neck. I gasped as his lips met my neck. It sent pleasurable tingles to my most sensitive parts.

He hummed into my neck and placed an open mouthed kiss below my ear.

I released a soft sigh and relaxed against him, letting him take control.

"You're so soft," he murmured into my skin. "Like a baby."

"I-I moisturize often." I replied breathlessly. He chuckled softly causing my already warm cheeks to heat up. I swear I was red already.

"And you smell so good," he continued. "Fuck."

I was taken by surprise when suddenly, his large hand gripped my face and pulled it towards his. His lips met mine in a hurry as our lips molded together. I kissed him back just as hurriedly, having a bit of the hang of it now.

His hands roamed my body feverishly, before he reached the hem of my top. He pulled the material up till I felt the air touch my bare stomach. His hands trailed my skin softly before I felt him pull on my bra. As good as it felt, reality slapped me in the face, causing me to abruptly pull away.

"Wait," I said, breathing heavily. "I-I can't."

"Can't what?"

"Go any further." I answered, lowering my head in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry, I completely forgot. I didn't mean to..." He said, his eyes dark and his lips slightly thicker.

"No!" I rushed out. "It's okay it's not you, it's me."

"Relax, baby." He chuckled. "It's not your fault. I won't touch you if you don't want me to. And I understand that you aren't ready for more."

"Okay, thank you." I said gratefully, appreciating his sweet behavior. I didn't know that he was capable of being so sweet and understanding. This time, it was me who kissed him again. I kissed his cheek quickly before I moved away again, my cheeks reddening.

He laughed softly and grabbed my hands, placing it against his chest.

"Do you feel this?" He asked.

"What?" I asked slowly.

"My heart. It's beating faster than it usually does."

I flushed at the hidden meaning.

"Oh."

"Oh is all you have to say? I just admitted that you make my heart beat faster. No girl has ever done that before."

I let out a shaky breath.

"What does this make us now?" I asked innocently, truly curious.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean we aren't still just friends are we?" My eyes narrowed on their own. Maybe I expected too much, but my feelings for Jason was confirmed. I liked him. I liked him a lot.

"Daisy..." He muttered, his eyes suddenly hard.

This moment was perfect, despite it being in the middle of nowhere, in a car with a party on full blast just a few meters away; I found it perfect.

Ruining the moment by asking the inevitable wasn't my fault. His reply is what ruined it.

"I thought you liked me." I stated, a cold feeling running through my veins.

Did I really just say that? I've kept my feelings hidden from him, from my friends, and myself.

Oh god, please don't let this happen.

The rejection; after such a perfect moment.

"I do like you. I like you a lot. But you and I, Daisy, we're not meant to be. You're way too good for me. Don't hate me, please." He sighed, tightening his arms around my waist.

I inhaled deeply. My chest ached with hurt. He didn't like me the way I liked him. It was truly the worst feeling ever. I liked the feeling of being close to him, of being in his arms. He made me feel something I have never felt before, and that is safe.

"This was really just a game to you?" I asked quietly, looking him in the eyes.

He looked conflicted. His eyes displayed more emotions than I've ever seen in them. But they were a warm green. Until slowly, they turned darker. Cold and hard. I almost flinched.

"Yeah it was. Did you really think I would have feelings for you, Daisy? Yes, you're hot as fuck but that's it." He said coldly.

Tears brimmed my eyelids.

I had to get out of here.

"Let me go." I whispered hoarsly.

The hurt when his arms unwrapped from around my waist without hesitation was painful. I couldn't believe I thought that this time he would be different.

I shifted over to the passenger seat as Jason unlocked the door. As if he expected me to get out, and did nothing to stop me from leaving.

I stepped out into the freezing cold, missing the warmth that Jason shared.

"Oh and Daisy, don't do anything stupid."

"I won't." I whispered, sending him one last hopeful glance before shutting the door.

I realized that I had taken off my jacket and left it in the the car. My arms and legs begun to freeze. I stumbled in the cold towards the mansion. The loud beating of my heart was dampening the sound of the music. What if I couldn't find Mavis or Penny?

This caused more tears to roll down my face.

Daisy, you stupid and pathetic cry baby!

I ignored my conscious and entered the party. I shivered in fear when I felt eyes on me. The feeling of being scared and alone...

I couldn't escape that feeling no matter how hard I tried.

***

JASON

I groaned in frustration and landed a solid punch on the steering wheel. My moral compass and subconscious was nagging at me to get the fuck out of my car and to go after Daisy. But the more fucked up, pride filled and ego-led part of me was keeping me behind.

I was truly a piece of shit.

Bad. Ruthless. Heartless. These were just a few things people called me, amongst other things. Before Daisy came came long, I truly didn't care enough to consider a girls feeling when I fucked around with her and left her the next day as if she meant nothing. I would sleep with them, call them sweet names, and the next day, I would be gone. Vanished into thin air, leaving the clueless bitch wondering where I'd gone.

Daisy was a different case. I couldn't kiss her and mess around with her and then leave. She wasn't like the rest. She was different. And fuck me for hurting her. I shouldn't have kissed her, I shouldn't have touched her and messed with her feelings when I knew that I could never commit. My life was far too complicated and dangerous for her. She was too sweet. Too naive.

I swear she was some sort of witch. Making me feel all these disgusting feelings that made me weak. I was being a weak motherfucker like my father warned me not to be. Fuck my life.

Daisy should just fuck off.

And leave my emotions to calm the fuck down.

Who was I kidding? I should just take her for myself before some other tool rushed in.

I kept thinking about her, when I was supposed to be thinking about the gang. I kept trying to keep her safe. Only to be the fucktard who hurt her in the end.

It would have been better if I had just left her the fuck alone. But I was too interested in here to do so.

Watching her fragile figure walk back into the party after I've once again hurt her was painful. I forced myself to look away.

It has been about twenty minutes now since she had gone back inside.

What if something happened to her? What if someone touched her?

Cold anger ran through my veins and my fists clenched tightly. I had to control my anger. If I was not going to be with her she had every right to be with someone else, right?

No, absolutely fucking not.

What the fuck is wrong with you?

I inhaled deeply.

She's probably alone right now. And scared.

The sudden realization came to me and and I cursed myself violently. What the fuck, I just let her enter that party alone?

I rushed to call Derek. My most trusted friend. I needed him to get her and check that she was okay and safe. These parties were no joke. They were filled with bad people that wouldn't hesitate to hurt someone like Daisy.

Derek answered on the third ring.

"The girl that was with me earlier, where is she?" I got straight to the point.

"Jason, she-"

I gripped the phone anxiously.

But suddenly, my heart stopped beating.

All emotions drowned from me when I heard the gunshot.

Oh fuck.

I dropped the phone not bothering to hangup. A lot of my gang members were in there. If any of them got hurt, there would be war. I knew that none of them could have fired the shot. They would never disobey me like that.

Daisy!

I panicked, my heart beating wildly.

God, please no.
