4: now
That was then. This is now. I live Atlanta now. A more civilized, maybe even better, part of Georgia. My days of Fields of flowers are gone. My hometown's lightning bugs have been replaced by lights illuminating the sidewalks. I've moved on to a better life with a new job and an equally amazing best friend. The people aren't as nice here and the foods not half as good but I have my life and my job.
I co-own a movie theater with friend, Jay.
Jay can be cool and we both started at the bottom, which keeps us looking back. He was a lowly popcorn scooper who visited me in the projector room daily and would bring us a bucket of popcorn to share. He was always really funny and helped me smile in a place so grimy and depressing. And I know, some people would love to work at a movie theater. You see movies for free all the time and before anyone else, but no. You see the SAME movies like 8 times in a row until it finally plays out or moves to another room. Meeting jay was the only thing I considered beneficial to moving here. Atlanta is a big city.
I still sometimes work projectors because I did like the solitude the job offered, but I'll admit I only go when it's a movie I want to see. And I certainly don't see it more than once.
What I am today is something I've become proud of. In my own opinion, I'm a well adjusted, responsible woman.
I'm ready for anything you throw at me.
