"Dad !" Lydia groaned ; flopping on the couch with a program in her hand .

"Lydia I already told you, she is a bad influence-" Ben was annoyed .

"Dad ! Everyone and their grandma is going to see Rey Sunshine ! Please !" She begged .

All she wanted was to see the blond singer with black folded in the thick strands .

"Lydia ?" She heard . She ran and locked her door then opened her window .

"Hi Max" she said helping him in the window that was her bedroom.

Max Hux was Uncle Armtige and Aunty Gwen's son, he was a year older than she and her very best friend .

"I found something while digging through some old records" he said and shoved the flash drive into her laptop.

"What ?" She asked the blonde boy who's glasses laid at the tip of his nose.

"Okay so, your birth mother was under 18... because all the women who had their children on that day in this state who gave their children up where under 18... we'll there was one who was 20 but ... she's a different race" Max added.

"Okay ... how many women ?" Lydia asked sitting on the chair with him.

"19" he replied "so we can get this over with quickly"

"That's great!" Lydia smiled and kissed his cheek "print the list !"

"Already did" he handed her the printed piece of a paper and with his white smile .

"You're the best!" She ran her fingers over the paper "one of these women just has to be my mom"

"Can you turn this off ?! I'm trying to focus" Max asked.

"Sure" Lydia opened the pandora browser and turned paused it.

She went to go to the bathroom . Max looked at the image .

It was Rey Sunshine , of course , but she looked different . It was an EP from 2000, the year she came out.

She had brown hair that was now blonde and black . She had a smile that he had seen before and the same height as Lydia ... except Lydia has blue eyes and paler skin.

"Hey Lydia ?" He asked.

"Hmm?" She mumbled as Lydia took a sip of water.

"Have you thought... you know how last year Rey did the event , helping kids find their birth parents -"

"Yeah ?" Lydia said.

"Maybe you should write her a letter ... might get you tickets-"

"My dad would be pissed ... its bad enough I've been hiding this from him for like 5 years" she shook her head.

"What if I did it ? And got us the tickets ?" He suggested .

"Hmm... I don't know" she shook her head .

"You'll thank me later" he smirked .

Lydia spent three days calling the names on the list , all from Albert to Zane .

She had no luck . She began to play her music and bopped along. "Lydia?" She opened the door to her bedroom.

"Dad?" She said looking at him. Ben wore a dark pair of slacks and matching blazer with a red button up on .

His black hair layer just underneath his ears and was smooth , his glasses laid on the top of his nose .

"Do I look okay?" He asked nervously.

"Yeah you look - wait ... are you going on a date ?" She asked with a smile.

"Uncle Hux set it up... don't laugh -" Ben groaned .

"You look great dad... just" she then ruffled his hair "there all better " Lydia smiled at her father.

"She's a English Teacher ... let's hope for the best" he smiled.

"Okay" Lydia kissed his cheek "you look great and you'll be fine ... mom would have wanted you to go out" she smiled.

"You gonna be okay?" Ben asked.

"I'll be fine dad" she then hugged him "go have fun ... and use protection... I don't want any little brothers and sisters" she joked.

"Haha- very funny your adopted and remember ... both mom and i's stuff didn't work so fat chance" he smiled.

She slapped his hand and he walked away.
