PP - Would you tell us a little about yourself?

Lyttlejoe - There is a book in the Pub already that already has 10 things about me. I suppose I could confess to being one of those old codgers who delights in saying things were better when I was a kid. I don't believe in helmets and seat belts. I like to see kids run, climb and jump and wear scabby knees without fuss. Better quit before it turns into a rant.

PP - How long have you been on Wattpad? 

Lyttlejoe - I joined in March, 2015 after reading about it in our paper. The head office was right here in Toronto and who knew?

PP - What do you enjoy most about the PoetsPub?

Lyttlejoe - The diversity of members, work and talent. I constantly have to remind myself I'm talking to people on other continents like we were close neighbors. That and the fact they are all so willing to discuss the merits of any and all members. No cliques, no egos . . . a requirement Bill made quite clear at the beginning of the Pub.

PP - How long have you been writing poetry?

Lyttlejoe - Probably started when I met my wife. All the cards for holidays and anniversaries had some scribbled rhyme or other on them.

PP - Where do you find inspiration for your poetry?

Lyttlejoe - Where does anyone. Life I guess. . . the good, the bad and the ugly, to steal a phrase.

PP - Is poetry your main genre or do you write other things? If so what else do you enjoy writing?

Lyttlejoe - No, poetry isn't the main endeavor. I use it to exercise, purge, relax and rant mainly. I enjoy writing almost any kind of story that comes to mind. I suppose that might be obvious from the 50 odd books on my wall. 

PP - What advice would you give to poets who are just starting out?

Lyttlejoe - I'm not in a position to council creativity on anyone's behalf. Write your heart, I suppose.

PP - Do you have a favorite author on Wattpad? What about outside of Wattpad?

Lyttlejoe - I have an incomplete book with a long list of Wattpad authors I have found most enjoyable. I can't imagine naming one. I would have to break everything down into genre and that ain't gonna happen.

Outside, most of my readin was political/spy thriller authors - LeCarre, Deighton, McCarry, Graham Greene etc. In humour I would say, Peter De Vries, Max Schulman, Carl Hiaasen, Elmore Leonard.

PP - You are throwing a dinner party and you can invite any 10 authors, living, dead or fictional. Who do you invite?

Lyttlejoe - The eight above plus Allen Drury and John D. McDonald. There really are dozens more but I would have to rent a hall and have dinners every week.
