Three Wishes

Three wishes I said to thee

I promise you three wishes

if you set me free

Anything your heart desired

you need but ask but first please

my freedom is required

You know me not I understand

but think of what I'll give to you

for your freedom's hand

Anything on earth you choose

simply open this confining lid

there is nothing you can lose

Yes!

That's it, lift away my prison door

and release me to where

I was before

Oh wonderfully free at last

to stretch and breath full lungs

no longer confined behind that glass

A moment's pause before you avail

yourself of dreams enchanted

remaining is just one small detail...

I'm required to be supplanted

She closed the lid

and waved goodbye

blithely ignoring

and

easy

to

deny
