Stardust
Don't tell me I don't matter
That I am a mere speck of dust
An insignificant particle, a smear of rust
For I am the dagger
Forged with the iron from blood
That causes ice to shatter
And turns glaciers to flood
I have blown down mountains
Whose pinnacles had touched the sky
I have torn the deepest sea beds
And made the darkest waters cry
Look up at the river of jewels
Strewn over the onyx sky
I have streaked through the celestial heights
With thousands of comets by my side
Within me is a ceaseless storm
An every-changing symphony
A trickling stream of serenity
Surging into a whirlpool in the blink of an eye
I am tired of being cast aside
So don't tell me I am small
For I, I am made of stardust
And I am part of
so...
much...

This poem was written for a school project/competition. I don't usually write poems and this is not one of my proudest works by far, but I want some feedback on my poems as I want to write more in the future. As you can probably tell, I'm quite new to poem writing--and quite bad at it too (this is one of the better ones already, believe it or not), so I really, really welcome some constructive criticism because it helps me improve.
I hope you liked it, or at least tolerated it. I means a lot to me if you read through this awful mess (hides in corner and cries).
