Chapter 25
"Fabian. Are you there?"
"Zara?" He asked out of breath as he grabbed a squeeze bottle and squirted the water into his mouth. Sweat dripped down his face and his blonde hair stuck to the sides of his head from where the hockey helmet was.
"Hey! Good game man!" A teammate slapped him with a towel on the way to the showers, but the man on the phone paid him no mind.
"I tried calling you and I went to your place and the clinic and no one has heard from you. We're all worried, princess. I was even going to have to call in a favor from the guys to track your phone." The tone of his voice made the teammate turn on his heel to give the man on the phone some privacy.
"I don't have long, Auntie and I will be leaving for a while. Grandma passed away and we have to take care of some arrangements. We'll be gone for a long time and we don't have time to say good-bye. I'll just see you when I see you. Okay? So, stop trying to find me. I don't want you to get wrapped up in this." She says it all out at a fast pace. "Please trust me." Zara pleads.
"You know that sounds ominous as hell? And your Grandma died. Shit. I'm sorry. But Zara, whatever you have gotten yourself into I will always have your back. I love you princess, you know that right?"
"I know. Thank you, and I love you too." She said rather hurriedly.
*ROARRRRRR* Terrible animalistic snarls roared through the speaker. His mouth gaped in terror as his brown eyes went wide from the sudden monstrous outburst.
"ZARA! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? TALK TO ME! ZARA! ZARA! ANSWER ME GAW" Her line went dead. "D DAMIT!" He chucked his phone into his duffle bag.
"FUCK!"
"What's up Saxs?" Another teammate called this time. Concern marred his expression as he hastily wrapped a towel around his waist. "Anything we can help with?" Two more teammates walked out from the showers with just their towels on.
"Can any of you fuckers track a phone that just called my cell?" He said coolly as he peeled off his hockey uniform and padding in a haste.
"Woah, man. Easy with the F bombs some of the guys here can't even drink yet." One teammate snickered. "But I think we can if we know the number."
"Can you track it now?" A nearly naked Fabian asked. Desperation leaked from his tone. "Something happened to a friend of mine, and she may need some urgent help." His brown eyes stared into his friends' blue ones. All the jovial after game playfulness disappeared.
"Of course we can brother. Get washed up and then come with us to the Ranger Station."

The motorcycle came to a rolling stop on top of the burnt gravel. A man hopped off and walked up to the now smoldering remains. He looked around the ground looking; searching.
"Where are you now princess?"
His phone rang in his leather jacket. With a gloved hand he pressed a button on the side of his helmet.
"Hello?"
"Hey Fabian. It's Frank. Sorry it took so long. You know I have trouble with this fancy computer stuff."
"Does that mean you have the plate?"
"Yeah. It's good that they always arrived at opening. Because their truck was parked right in front of the camera."
"What does it say?"
"Yukon. Echo. Lima. Niner. Six. Eight. One."
"Can you send me a picture?"
"I can try."
"Thanks Frank. Save a cold one for me. I'm going to Canada."
"Do you really think they did something bad to our girl?"
There was a moment of silence as a cold wind whipped around the ashes.
"It's a hunch. The way that night went down wasn't right at all."
"Yeah. It was a little weird with them always at my place from opening 'til closing. But I can't honestly say that they're aren't bad people. Even Zara was keen on," Frank was interrupted.
"Just take care of Alissa and Bobby for me. I'll bring our princess home safe."
Frank sighed heavily into his phone.
"Alright. Stay safe brother. Semper Fi."
Fabian walked back to his bike and hoped back on. "Call Rich." He said while holding down a button on his matt black helmet.
"Hey man. Did you find her?"
"No." Biker man looked around again at the blackened wasteland. "She's long gone."
"That's too bad. I hope nothing horrible happened to her and that she turns up soon."
"Me too. My princess has already been through a lot. Ya know." He sighs. "I was just thinking of making my move and this shit happens."
"You can't change the past, but more importantly everything happens for a reason. So chin up okay."
"Yeah. I know. It still sucks. I've liked her since I first saw her at the gym. Then it was love at first punch."
"Fuck dude. You've got it bad. So, why haven't you tapped that yet?"
"She's not that kinda girl. She's the kind you take home to meet the fam. She's the kind you think about forever with."
"Is that why you've been hiding her from us?" The man on the other end laughs heartily.
"Something like that. But really I was just waiting for her to be good. I wanted her to be with me when she was ready. It just seemed like she needed the space."
"I get that. But who would have pegged you as such a gentleman." Rich laughs again. "Is there something you need from me though? Unlike assholes like you I actually work for a living."
"Shut up. I'm a respected member of society. I happen to teach history and hockey you prick."
"Online."
"Seriously dude." Fabian scoffs. "I have one more favor to ask. Do you think you can find out the address for a Canadian plate?"
"Candian. Eh?"

Hey lovelies! I hope you liked this short chapter. It's not from Fabian Saxs's point of view but more like what he's doing. (Sorry if there are any mistakes, I've been drinking. ;P)
On a side note I love LOVE him. Isn't he so precious?
