Chapter 1

In the city of Bangalore, in the cluster of IT parks, in one of the many multi- storeyed buildings Abhiram  is juggling between reporting, attending meetings and finally working on the important presentation on the next day.

It's almost evening and he didn't even have time for a cup of tea, lunch is a word that didn't exist for him since two months.

Before leaving his cubicle his phone buzzed, normally he would ignore any personal call after a hectic day. It's from his uncle, only sibling of his mother who loves him like his own child.

"How are you uncle?" Abhiram greeted him.

"It depends on your answer Abhi" his uncle replied calmly.

Now what did I do... He doesn't have daughter whom I can get married to. Unlike me his son is a doctor then what should I answer

"We all told you not to leave your previous job still you went against us and joined this small company. Now what I hear is you don't even have time for yourself. See it's not right to work your ass off for salary they pay you" his uncle continued after sensing Abhi's reason of silence.

"You didn't ask your question?" Abhi asked directly

"Are you satisfied with this job of yours?" his uncle asked.

"This is a platform where I can prove myself and tomorrow is a big day for me. I want to make a mark in this company and it will be done" he said confidently

"I am fine Abhi" his uncle answered Abhi's first question.

Abhi locked his phone with a smile and sat in his car thinking about past six months of his life. He left his job with a hefty pay in renowned MNC and joined a start-up company with a little hike.

Many of his friends and family opposed his decision but he went with what his heart directed. He took the risk for betterment of his knowledge and growth in career. When he changed companies last two times it was not like this. But this job is like staying in volatility, never know when the company and his job will be lost in the rat race.

Next day night Abhiram came almost jumping to his flat. His presentation is a huge hit and the impact he created on CEO made sure that every single minute of his hardwork and the risk taken by him are worthy.

After few minutes he shared his happiness with his parents and dear ones. Suddenly he felt emptiness ... Something missing. He wanted to share it with someone else who will be equally excited as him. After not understanding the reason he decided to sleep.

That feeling continued in whatever thing he did. He left his car and went on bike for a change but that feeling doubled. He didn't even feel like having food. Reason remained unknown to him.

It's Saturday evening and the temple is full of devotees, not only us even god is busy on weekends Abhiram smiled at his thoughts.

Every month he visits temple and spends time there. It reminds him of his childhood days when he used to visit temple almost daily with his mother. She used tell him all mythological stories, old scriptures.

Both of them have same interest regarding paintings, sports and music. His mother shaped him into a better person which he is today and he loved her to the core.

Again he got back that empty feeling, even after thinking about his mother and memories with her.

"God" he shouted gaining attention of others. People around him wondered looking his face.

He silently sat at a place far from crowd and decided to decode his problem. He closed his eyes to calm his brain and inhaled slowly.

After few minutes he opened his eyes and observed surroundings....

A father playing with his daughter

An oldman singing bhajan along with his wife

A group of friends taking selfies

Two girls distributing prasadam, a line of devotees before them

And then a newly married couple in their wedding attire walking hand in hand

Abhiram smiled as he got his answer. His missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle...

His other half
His soulmate
