M've [mm-vay]- my

Sesti [Sehs-tee] - Little one

Tu sa vinsami [Too sah vin-sah-mee] you will show me

—————————————————————————————————————

"Leave her alone." I heard a woman say sternly. She is standing right in front of me and her long straight, jet black hair is blocking my view from the person she is talking to.

"I will find her. You can't keep her from me, Gaia." My blood ran cold at the sound of Sol's voice. Why is Gaia talking to Sol? Are they talking about me?

"I will keep her from you, Sol. I won't let you harm her." She said as he chuckled.

"Who said I was going to harm her? Jazmine belongs to me." He said as I gasped covering my mouth as Sol shoved Gaia out of the way. He grinned looking down at me.

"I will find you, m've sesti."

"Jazmine run!" Gaia screamed to me as I began running into the darkness hearing Sol laughing behind me. I ran as fast as I could towards a small tunnel of light. Once I ran through the tunnel I realised I'm standing in the middle of a dark cobbled alleyway.

Oh great, where am I now? I thought looking around me at the long forgotten garbage, the pungent smell nearly making me gag.

I looked behind me to see a busy street with people walking briskly along. I started walking towards the main street but I can't move. I'm stuck standing here staring at the empty alley.

I hear the telltale cackling of de'mujos coming from the far end of the alley and I turn back fully expecting to see Sol behind me but there is a group of men slowly making their way down the alley towards the busy street full of unsuspecting people.

My heart is beating so fast in my chest. I can see their red irises glowing as they come closer to me. Their teeth are dripping with fresh blood and their claws are drenched in the dark liquid. I can smell the heady scent of iron in the poor victims' blood. I want to run to warn the people on the street but my legs wouldn't move. I am forced to stand there watching as they advance on the innocent humans.

A blast of fire erupted in front of me as two men dressed in black leather armor appeared from the fire blocking the de'mujos' way to the street. The de'mujos hissed preparing to fight the men who were in the way of their next fresh meal.

The men laughed and I gasped, recognizing the voice. One of them is Darius! Where am I? I thought as my heart clenched watching as the de'mujos advance on them.

They easily took out the first few with no problem. I screamed as a hoard of de'mujos burst out of the dumpster behind him. They piled onto Darius clawing and biting his skin.

I can hear him laughing as he ripped through the bodies of infected Mercatijan on top of him. How can he laugh at a time like this? There's so much pain! I screamed falling to my knees, the ground shaking dangerously beneath me as the searing pain of his wounds burned over my body.

"Jazmine!" He yelled rushing to my side worry etched in his eyes at the sound of my painful screams. He held my face forcing me to look at him, but I kept screaming feeling completely delirious this is still a dream, it has to be.

"Jazmine you have to wake up, this isn't real for you. You aren't hurt." He pleaded holding my writhing body to him.

"Darius you have to go to her, I can handle this. Go!" His brother yelled and Darius quickly disappeared in a gust of wind.

"Darius!" I screamed shooting up from my bed and feeling strong arms envelope me.

"Shh, shh, Jazmine. It's all right. I'm right here." Darius said holding me tight kissing my forehead as I clung to him shaking. How did he get here? Was I just there with him? What happened?

His pain is unbearable! I let out an agonizing scream pushing out of his arms with strength I didn't know had, I pushed him on his stomach ripping away the leather over his skin to heal his wounds.

His wounds are gone!

I frantically ran my hands over his back checking his shoulder. I can't find anything. There isn't a trace of what I feel, but I know he's still hurt!

"Jazmine!" He said pushing up from the bed and holding my wrists tight as I looked at him feeling tears well in my eyes.

"I...I'm sorry." I said as my power subsided around me and my tears rolled freely down my cheeks. He sighed, letting me go to wipe my tears.

"It's okay, I'm sorry I scared you. I'm sorry you were there. I didn't think we were connected like that yet." He apologized.

"What do you mean? I was running from Sol and I ended up on that street with you and your brother. I don't know how I got there." I said still feeling disoriented as he looked at me in shock.

"What do you mean you were running from Sol?" He asked and the thought of Sol saying I belonged to him and the excruciating pain I can feel from him, I began to sob. Darius quickly picked me up and we flew out of my window towards our house. He sat me on our bed as he took off the remains of his torn leathers. I sat there staring into space wiping my tears and trying to calm myself.

"Jazmine..." He said gently taking my hand as he sat next to me.

"What happened before you got to Romania?" He asked and I squeezed his hand taking a deep breath trying to find the words before I began crying again.

"I was somewhere very dark, there was nothing around me, except for Gaia and Sol. They were arguing about me. She warned him to leave me alone and not to harm me." I said tears coming to my eyes again.

"And Sol...Sol said he wouldn't because I-I belong to him, he told me he is going to find me and he called me m've sesti." I shuddered at the thought.

"Gaia told me to run and I ran towards the only light I could see. Then I was with you and your brother in Romania." I explained, he kissed my hand and wiped a tear rolling down my cheek.

"I don't know what any of this means Jazmine, I don't know why Sol is looking for you but whatever he wants from you it's probably why I'm meant to protect you. I'm sorry my connection to you led you from one bad place to another, but I'm glad Sol still doesn't know where you are. He might know who your dejaino is but that's not going to help him." He sighed kissing my head and I frowned.

"What do you mean our connection?" We aren't bonded yet there shouldn't be a reason why I can feel his wounds or be in his mind while he's fighting de'mujos.

"When a kue finds his dejaina, when our souls recognize yours, you share our warrior burden. Usually you just see it; I'm not sure why you are feeling it. My brother Byron's Dejaina is an Earth master and a healer like you but she never feels it. You must be very powerful, if I knew, I would've blocked you out, but I didn't realize the connection was already made. It didn't happen with my brothers' dejainas for a few years. I'm so sorry." He explained. Well that explains why I can still feel every one of his wounds that have miraculously disappeared from his body.

"Are you alright?" He asked rubbing my back when I didn't say anything and continued to stare at our entwined hands.

"You have to let me see your wounds. I'm in so much pain right now and I know you are too. You have to let me heal you. Why are you cloaking them from me?" I asked tears coming to my eyes from the pain.

"How do you know I'm hiding them? No kue dejaina has ever known we can cloak our wounds." He frowned.

"Well I know and I need you to stop it. I can't take it, I need to heal you."

"Are you sure? I mean it's not a pretty-

"Darius! Tu sa vinsami!" You will show me. I growled in Catijian my eyes glowing violet from the need to heal him. His eyes grew wide as he slowly pulled his shirt over his head and laid on his stomach.

"Sesan, litani." He sighed and his perfect clear muscled back slipped away to reveal the many bites and claw marks over his skin.

I instantly felt anger towards the de'mujos for hurting my Dejaino. I blushed at that thought, I need to calm the fuck down. I sighed working my hands over his back sucking out any poisons and closing the wounds until there isn't a trace of them left. I held my hand over the bite on his shoulder not liking that I can feel parasites in him. I pulled the parasites out causing him to hiss in pain and I quickly stole the pain.

"Sorry." I whispered as he started to get up but I pushed him back down.

"Jazmine?" He asked trying to look over his shoulder. I felt his weariness from the fight and worrying about me and all the strength it took for him to fly to me so fast and I feel terrible.

"Shh, just shut up and relax." I said straddling his back as I began massaging his shoulders. He let out a groan as I worked out a knot in his shoulder.

"Jazmine you don't have to do that. I'm fine now you healed me." If only he were a healer and his stupid dejaina would he understand that I can't just heal his wounds and not heal his physical weariness as well.

"If you were healed I could stop, I'm not doing this because I'm being nice. Just relax and try to enjoy it." I sighed, pressing his head back into the pillows, weaving a lavender scent through the room causing him to finally relax and drift off to sleep.
