Chapter Six
Dear Journal,
If you were wondering it's March 12th and it's three in the morning. I can't sleep and I just had a topic I needed to discuss. Isn't it strange that people think they can take all they want in a relationship but they don't have to give anything? They're such disgusting parasites and I hate them. I'm saying this because I was recently in a kinda-sorta relationship with a boy who will remain unnamed and it seemed like all he wanted was for me to kiss him. I've never kissed anyone before and I don't intend to, at least not unless I'm sure I care about that person like that. I'm pretty sure I won't find any of those people at my school. Notice how I say people? That's because I have the extremely occasional thought about kissing a girl. Never have I ever acted on it. I never will because I'm am very reassuringly straight. I've got no problem with gays and lesbians and all those people. Whatever floats their boats.
Sincerely,
Your favorite writer
Barry frowned at this entry, struggling to follow her late night thoughts. He still hadn't answered her text messages and it was his free period, which he spent in the library. His hand inched toward his phone lying by his thigh. It had buzzed a thousand more times throughout the day and all of the messages were rather rude and blunt, demanding the return of her journal. He couldn't blame her. He was technically invading her personal space by reading her entries but it was nice to delve into the mind of someone he didn't know and loose himself in her snarky words. His phone buzzed with an incoming message.
Mystery Girl: I swear to God, if you don't answer me I will take this to the police. I've already offered to pay any kind of ransom. My journal is my precious. I'm losing my mind without it. See? HOBBITSES STOLE MYYY PRECIOUSS!!!
Barry chuckled softly, picking up the phone and laying the journal on my lap.
Barry: Sorry, I kind of have a life to live so I couldn't answer. And in all fairness I'm a solid six feet tall so I'm no hobbit.
Mystery Girl: Don't be cocky with me, hobbit. I'll call you whatever I want. Now, have you been reading my journal?
Barry: Maybe... You've got some interesting points about relationships in February.
Mystery Girl: DAMMIT!!! THAT IS MY PERSONAL PROPERTY!!! I WILL FILE A POLICE REPORT!! RESTRAINING ORDER!!
It was a struggle for Barry to stay quiet. She was just too fun to mess with, although he really wanted to stop her from texting in all caps. It made his head hurt.
Barry: Alright, so what time and place do you want to meet at so you can get your journal back?
