Hello! So this first tutorial is all about the using the basic tools and making your simple manip cover. The very important skill you need to learn if you're starting out in photoshop is about removing and adding backgrounds.

It's really easy to learn.

So all you need for this is a stable internet access and your very own creativity.

Removing Background:

I just went to Google and searched "girl walking away HD" wow right hahaha. Anyway, after you found your model or a stock image, open Photoshop then go to "File", click "Open", and just search where you save your downloaded photo.

Then just drag it to your work area and click on the "Quick Selection Tool". So in quick selection it's the easiest way to select and cut-out irregular shapes in the photo. It basically just selects a group of the same pixels. It's not the cleanest way because pros and senpais use pentool to make precise cut-outs. But if you're still a beginner like me quick selection is really easy to use.

Tip: Make sure that the photo is HD so you can zoom in and select really small areas. Choose a photo that has a simple general shape and not too many accessories or stray hair flying around because that could be difficult when you are using quick select.

Now I've selected most of the general shape but sometimes quick selection just fucks with you. So Just press "alt" on you keyboard then when you see the minus sign it means you can erase the stray selection. Whenever there's an area that you don't want to include press "alt" then click on that area.

After you're done with your selection its time to cut it. BUT don't do layer via cut because it will ruin the original image then it will make a really ugly cut with sharp edges and we don't want that. Click on the "refine edge" to make your selection smooth and clean.

After that you will see this dialog box. It shows you a preview of the cut and you can smooth or feather it anyway you want. I like to keep it within these settings depending on the image quality. When you're satisfied with it click "OK".

It will look something like this. In refine edge it doesn't cut the image but it makes a mask. Masks just covers the things you don't want to see but when you turn it off you would still have the original image with the same quality. So here, to save this cut-out, right click on the layer mask and click "Apply Layer Mask".

Press ctrl + S on you keyboard (cmd + S for mac users). In this dialog box you can rename the image and make sure that the format is ".png". Then "Save".
