Hello guys! Welcome to a new chapter of my tutorial book.

For now I'm going show the steps how to make blended covers. This one is super easy and you don't really need much to achieve it. 

Here is the gif version. It sucks but yeah whatever.

I actually did it back in May for a contest and back then I was a total noob. Idk why but this actually won special awards and I didn't expect it. Anyway the original one is in my portfolio. For this tutorial I fixed and changed tiny things. Ok. right to editing.

First of course choose a background. I got this texture from deviantart. It's called Winter Storm by ainhel. So credits to him/her.

Next is add your model. For this edit I got my cyborg girl from pinterest.

So just drag it to your canvas and place it wherever you want. I change the blend mode to Multiply.

Now to blend and soften the edges of your photo, here is what I do:

1. Click on the layer and make a layer mask by clicking the square with the tiny circle at the bottom of the screen.

2. Now make sure that you are on the layer mask itself before you paint. It will only recognize black and white hues in the color. So click on the foreground color and make sure that it's black.

3. Click on the paint brush tool and using the third brush, you can conceal the part of the image that you don't want to see.

*When blending I like to make the brush size bigger so that the edges are soft making the blend a bit seamless.

So here i changed the color of her eyes because I think that the brown eye color would look out of place in the whole edit.

Using quick select and the adjustment layers I dropped down the saturation and made her eye look brighter. Then I just put a solid color and copied the mask then viola! Seems leggit.

Next I added the HUD png around the eye and made it Soft Light. To add a more sci-fi vibe I mixed some textures together and they are from selkkie (da). Check out that acc he has really dope background and lighting textures. 

And that's pretty much everything. Just add your text and I added some adjustments on the color grading.

Here is the finished product. I made two variations cuz I'm so indecisive.
