'BREAKING NEWS!' Rolled over the screen interrupting broadcasts across Britain.
The frame cut to an empty chair. Only subtitles accompanied moments between the news herald welcoming its guest. Dracula's Vampire bane disallowed the transmission of his form and voice, in the same way his reflection could not be seen in a mirror.
"... as he leaves the shadows in a feat against the ultimate Darkness; an unpredictable force which now governs our nights, breaking the mutual pact between humans and..."
"What's that now?" Georgina Hamilton scoffed at her small apartment television. "Vampires?! Are there werewolf's and witches too?" The remote sat on the coffee table come footrest. She lowered the volume.
She stretched, relaxing into the armchair when she was startled by a bang at the door. "At this hour?" Georgina lazily pulled the latch over which allowed the door to open ajar.
"What the—" The latch snapped from the door frame. Georgina toppled to the floor twisting her left ankle as the door slammed against it.
"Georgina. Georgina." Micheal. Micheal?
Her boyfriend. Largely built and dependable. She felt lucky.
"What were you thinking? What's the hurry?"
Pause.
"I've come straight from work. We've has some interesting... developments."
Audible pause.
"Have you seen the telly today? It's terrible."
The pauses grew longer.
"Yes."
...
"So, what do you think. Do you have an opinion?"
"How much do you remember about your past? All I know, is that last year you turned up on my doorstep, cold and blooded, in broad daylight." Micheal stepped back. "I know you leave the house at night. I feel... I feel you are not who you say you are."
"I have no idea what you are talking about, Mike. If you're suggesting I'm cheating, you're wrong!" Micheal looked blankly, Georgina, teary eyed. "I need some space."
Georgina limped lightly in the moonlight wearing purple psychedelic pyjamas and Micheal's white sheepskin coat. Their warmth did nothing for her heartache that ran deeper than being consoled by animal skin.
Until she felt herself blacking out. Her neck cricked back and sharp canines pushed out. The clouds had exposed the moon.
Georgina's eyes darkened with a malicious glint. "Fe, fi foe fum I smell the blood of an Englishman. Be him alive (or recently dead) I'll drain him clean. I am undead!" Her craving drove her on.
And that's when she saw him.
"Georgina?"
"My name's Sienna! Why do you keep calling me Georgina?"
Dracula frowned, "My diva, darling. I saved you from death." Each sentence break, he drew closer. "All I've ever wanted was to see you bid my will. See you love me," He swiped out a silver stake laced in his own blood. The red liquid, the only thing that could eliminate this hybrid vampire-witch. "Forever?" The stake penetrated her ribcage. Sienna's voice gargled and hissed as her flesh sizzled away.
Glistening white flecked light sparkled in a streetlight as Sienna's body dissolved until only a pile of clothes stained blue lay ruffled on the ground.
