Alex's POV:

I squint my eyes to see through the flash of the yellow-orange light.

All I see is Red . Yellow Orange Red . Fierce Yellow Orange Red . Unforgiving Yellow Orange Red .

I feel the heat . Heat Everywhere . Fierce Heat . Burning Heat .

I step forward, escaping the blinding flash of heat before my eyes. But I see nothing. Nothing but smoke.

"Mom...", I whisper ,"Dad..?"

Unshed tears rush down my face . I start to shout "MOM!!! DAD!!! "

"WHERE ARE YOU???" ,and I burst into tears.

No response .

"MOM!! I LOVE YOU MOM ! WHERE ARE YOU? "

No response .

"DAD ...I PROMISE I'LL ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU SAY ! PLEASE DON'T GO AWAY !"

No response.

"LIZZY....? LIZZY PLEASE COME BACK TO ME !"

No response .

"Please....", I whisper as I stare into nowhere , my tears blinding my vision.

Heat ... no , warmth. I feel warmth and heat both . Heat burning up my scalp. There is a warm sensation on my cheek. Tongue , it's a tongue.

My eyes jerk open . I'm blinded by the sight of the blazing sun . I turn my head to find my cat Whisky , licking my salty tears away.. I smile at her and take her in my arms.

Why does it feel so hot if it's just the morning?

Wait..

Or ,is it even the morning?

I pick my phone hurriedly , only to find out it's already 2 in the afternoon!

Fuck.

I missed work today . Shit!

I leave Whisky on the bed as I get up and walk back and forth my room, tension consuming me .

I sigh and get back into bed . There's no point I go now..There's no use.

I sit with my arms wrapped around my legs as I hug my knees . I watch Whisky as she tries to climb my thighs. I pick her up and put her in my lap.

As I run my hand through her fur, my thoughts divert to James. Did he get hold of anything? Did he find someone ?

He would have called me ,if he had.

I feel so stupid. So stupid for even trying to sleep . The whole night yesterday was a painful mess . I couldn't sleep.. Why did I even try to sleep at 5 in the damn morning? I wish I hadn't. Atleast I would've made it to work.

My eyelids start to shut. I lie down again . Letting my sleep consume me,letting it take me away .

Under my closed eyelids , I see Red . Red Yellow Orange .

No no no no. I jerk my head and wake up wih a start . I jump out of my bed ,put on my shoes , feed whisky some milk, before taking my keys and heading for the door.

I walk . I don't know where I'm going . I just walk. Two blocks down. Three blocks down. Four blocks down. "Liquor Shop" The neon sign catches my eye. As I stand in the middle of the path, I'm reminded of Harry . How ,when the last time I drank, he was with me and he walked me home . His emerald green eyes make their way into my mind . I push them back .

Before I know, my feet are making their way towards the shop,where I'll find my escape.

Harry's POV:

Alex didn't turn in for work today. 

As I make my way towards my car in the parking lot , my thoughts are crowded with various questions. Why didn't she come today? Is she okay? Is something wrong? Is she worried ? Did someone hurt her ?

Only the thought of someone hurting her makes my blood boil. 

After I unlock my car and seat myself ,my hand hovers over my phone . Damn! I don't even have her number !

I pull out of the drive way and hit the main road . The traffic comes to a halt at the red traffic light , and my thoughts drift back to her . My heart beats fast as my mind whirls with negative thoughts. 

I snap out of my thoughts when I hear heavy honking . I look around , only to find everyone's face plastered with a scowl. I turn my head to see the traffic light. It's green . I panic and quickly start my car, driving down the lanes . 

The honks have calmed down but my mind hasn't . 

"Calm down Harry!", I mentally tell myself.

Calm down.

Everything's Okay. She's okay. She probably woke up late or maybe she must not be feeling well. 

And she probably forgot to call in sick .

Just calm down and Give her some damn space .

As I get down of my car and make my way towards my apartment , I shake my head , ridding my mind of nasty thoughts. 

She's Okay , I tell myself again.
