Chapter 13
3rd POV
"Steela," Lux approached her. He laid his hand on her shoulder. "Saw is strong, he'll be fine."
"He's always been brash. Never thinks. He doesn't realize, by leaving us, he's hurting us. We need a plan," Steela stopped leaning on the table. They were in a small storage area. "They'd bring King Dendup through the east entrance of Yolahn Square. Security will be tight. And rescuing him will.... will not be easy." She took a small breath. "Lux, please don't look at me like that."
Lux was making googly eyes at Steela, "Forgive me. I'm sorry. I-"
"Listen. I just need to be alone right now," Steela placed his hand in hers. "Gather everyone to go over the plan."
"Of course," Lux left the room.
"I sense fear in you, Ahsoka," Obi-wan noticed. Her and Ezra were talking to Anakin and Obi-wan through a hologram. Ahsoka was sitting on a crate while Ezra leaned against the wall behind her.
"The rebels are divided. If they try to rescue the king now, I'm afraid we might lose them," Ahsoka rested her head on her hand.
"We cannot control their fate," Obi-wan proclaimed.
"It's just, they're risking their lives to save one."
"Do not underestimate the king's power. He represents hope and is critical to their success." As Obi-wan said that Lux passed them. His hands were fists, looking mad about something. She rested her head on her hand again.
"I feel responsible for them," she admitted.
"I know you do, Snips, but remember, purpose must come before feelings,' Anakin crossed his arms.
"I know, Master."
"Step in only if must, but remember, if this experiment is to become an effective strategy, they must learn to survive on their own."
"Yes, Master Kenobi." Both of the replied.
"We understand," Ezra said.
--
Steela and the rebels went going over the plan. Ezra and Ahsoka watched from the doorway.
"Do any of you have question?" Steela asked.
"It's a risky plan, but it's our best shot," Lux mentioned. "Ahsoka, Ezra, will you join us?"
"We can't," Ahsoka looked the other way.
"We've already been more involved than the Council wanted. I'm afraid we've been instructed to sit this one out," Ezra informed them.
"They have Saw," the girl came running into the room. "He's alive, but I watched them take him away."
A moment of silence pasted and Lux stood up, "We have to save him."
The rebels shouted in agreement. They grabbed their blasters and larger weapons.
"No," Steela looked away. Her eyes full of hurt when she said the word. "We have to save King Dendup. We don't have time or the bodies to do both."
"He's your brother," Lux stated.
"That's what Saw would want, what he would expect. And I expect the same from everyone in this room."
"I know it's a hard choice, but I agree. Purpose must come before feelings," Ezra approved.

It was morning and the people of Iziz came to Yolahn Square. To see the execution of their real king. Droids and other bigger droids with an electrical staff. The rebels pushed themselves to the front of the crowd.
"As your king, I present to you Ramsis Dendup not as a former king but as a criminal, sponsoring terrorists acts against the people of Onderon," King Rash vocalized. Ahsoka came to the execution even though they told her not to go. She pushed through the crowd. "But fear not, good citizens. As your leader and protector, I will see that you are safe from such villainy. He has betrayed you, and today he will pay for those treasonous deeds with his life."
The droids forced him to his knees, getting him closer to the beheader. Not long, Ezra showed up next to Ahsoka.
"Ezra! What are you doing here?" She asked surprised. Ezra chuckled.
"I should be asking the same to you," Ezra said. He left her mouth wordless. "You didn't think I would let you break orders by yourself, right?" Ahsoka smiled. She secretly wanted Ezra to notice she was gone, she needed Ezra's help. "I may act mature in front of the Jedi, but I'm equally misbehaved like you."
"Your people will see you into the next world. May you find forgiveness there," King Rash whispered to him. He laughed and bit into his fruit. He threw the fruit into the beheader and the droids activated with their staffs. They jammed it into the holes, it cut the fruit in half with ease. The people mumbled.
"Time to die," King Rash said coldly. The droid pushed his head into the hologram beheader. Lux nodded his head to the rebels, telling them to get ready.
"Wait for my signal," Steela whispered into Lux's ear.
"Ready weapons," King Rash demanded. The droids turned the staffs on. He rasied his hand. The droids lifted the staffs in the air.
"Not yet," Steela whispered. King Rash gave the signal. "Now!"
Lux took out large sniper. Two rebels lifted her over their shoulders. She shot the two droids about to behead the king. The audience gasped and murmured. Lux knocked off his cloak and threw gas bombs to the droids. It made the droids not see anything and King Rash cough.
"Come on. Go, go, go!" Luz yelled. Luz hit the top of King Rash's head making him fall.
"Come with us," Steela kneeled next to King Dendup. She shot a near by droid. Taking out all of the droids they ran.
"This way. Come one, let's go," the female rebel said. A B2 droid shot her in the chest. They went to other direction but, B2 droids blocked the way. Along with the other side. King Rash got up from the floor.
"Surrender now or die," the General Kalani said. The rebels tightened their blasters.
"It's over. Do as they say," King Dendup whispered. They put down their weapons. The crowd shouted in disagreement.
"Calm yourselves. The threat is over. See for yourselves as these traitors all endure the same punishment," King Rash massaged his head. The rebels were guarded by the B2 droids.
"Good try, sis," Saw grinned at her. Ezra and Ahsoka made their way through the crowd.
"Ready weapons," King Rash said again. The crowd shouted, pleading them to not execute them. Ahsoka and Ezra clutched their lightsabers.
"The snake will not strike again."
Stop!" A voice called. Ahsoka and Ezra stopped fast walking, they put their lightsabers down yet, they gripped it in their hands.
"What?" They all turned to the voice, it was General Tandin
"The only snake I see, sire, is you," General Tandin dashed to stop them. The guards pointing their spears to the droids. He held the spear to King Rash's neck.
"Traitor," he spat.
"I was. Not anymore," General Tandin said. Once the rebels were released, the General put him in a choke hole.
"What are you doing, General?" King Rash tried to remove his arm. The crowd cheered.
"Go," the General ordered. The rebels left. The guards following close. They went down the steps. "Everyone go with them."
"But, sir-"
"Go!"
The B2 pointed their charged blasters at them. The people backed up.
"Huh. What now, General? As soon as you release me, you'll be shot dead," King Rash spat. Destroyer rolled in. Ahsoka and Ezra Force-jumped into the scene. Ezra Force-pushed the droids done.
"Jedi?"
"General, follow us," Ahsoka ordered. They sprinted through the crowd. The audience rebelled against them. They held the B2 droids back.
--
Back at the base a rebel helped the king sit down.
"Why now?" King Dendup quesioned.
"It was time for a new approach, my lord," he simply replied.
"Do I have your loyalty?"
"And that of an army." The General stood up straight.
"You also have ours. With your rule, our numbers will grow," Steela said.
"Thanks, child," King Dendup turned to Lux. He put his hand on his shoulder. "Your mother would be proud."
"Thank you, my lord."
"We must first win the will of the people. That is the only way," he stood up. "The Separatists will assemble their forces. Count Dooku will want me dead more than ever," King Dendup announced.
"Then we'll have to teach them another lesson. Together," Saw wrapped his arm around Steela's shoulder. The people in the room cheered. The General and King shook hands. Ezra and Ahsoka following behind him.
"I knew you guys couldn't resist a good fight," Lux walked to them.
"Am I becoming the predictable?" Ahsoka asked, sarcasticly.
"Only to me," he smiled. Ezra nudged her shoulder, Ahsoka rolled her eyes.

"The Separatists defiantly know we're backing up the rebels," Ezra reported.
"Then prepare yourselves. The real fight is about to begin," Obi-wan said, stoned face.
"Will you be able to send some help?" Ahsoka hopped off the counter.
"That's up to the Council, Ahsoka," Anakin answered.
